There was some news about a missile hitting Cyprus last week, but Cyprus is still very far from Malta. I can't imagine Malta ever being a target, although you never know with crazy islamists. But that's another discussion.

In other news, less than three weeks until Vegas! And only 2 weeks left for MuckPls.

I've found rooms, but they're expensive. Damn basketball tournament driving up the cost. I'm hoping they start sinking before it's time. I might have to stay way off Strip.

Hey everyone! Short and extremely sad bump from my end. The past couple of weeks/months have probably been the worst of my entire life, in all ways possible. Beginning of February my dog died in his sleep, he was only 8.5 years old.

One week later my dad was admitted to hospital and died this week.

Amidst all this I’m also on the most brutal soul crushing downswing of my life.

I’m still doing Vegas as it’s 2 weeks away and I need the break just to reset mentality, but please don’t expect regular updates. I don’t know which way this trip will go honestly, my gut is telling me to just bury myself in my comfort zone which is poker and stay there for insane hours.

I don’t know, I will probably update at least semi-regularly but probably not the usual live TR that everyone is used to.

two weeks is a long time and only you know how you feel but poker and then some pool time and decent food is probably wiser than the other gambol. The pits are not a place to be if you're full of sorrow

Sorry for the losses. We lost our pup back in Oct. but she was14 1/2. The. Dec 14 my mom passed and I was 45 min from hospital. So I know how you feel.

But keep thin chin up good can follow. Daughter had a tiny private wedding in Oct so mom could be there and we just had her formal one last week. Was so glad mom was able to see her get married but we all feel mom was at the second one also.

Yes he’s been unwell/sick pretty much all his life. Typical person who would live a super unhealthy lifestyle and say it’s okay he’ll just go to hospital and get surgery they will fix him and then he’ll continue. He’s been to hospital mor times than the doctors who work there. That being said everyone thought he would come out of it this time, he didn’t.

I am so sorry. That's a crushing few weeks. I hope Vegas takes some of the weight off -- you are still allowed to enjoy yourself, but we understand about the updates -- that can be tough even when all is well.

Very sorry to hear it. My sympathies to you and family.

I thought about the trip for a very long time, weighed every pro and con and came to the conclusion that life is short and I would regret cancelling. So yeah flying out in less than 72 hours and landing Thursday afternoon at around 3 pm Vegas time.

This trip will be different. Apart from work meetings I want to focus on two things: Relax and I mean REALLY relax and grind stupid hours of poker. I know it might sound like a contradiction but it makes sense in my head at least. I will stay away from the pitts this time and just take it incredibly slowly.

If anyone is around those dates I’m more than happy to grab a dinner or a whiskey somewhere

I also find being at the poker table relaxing (depending on the crowd, of course).

Do what makes you happy. No stress in grinding x number of hours. If you feel you are off your A game take a break, watch a show, eat a good meal, go for a swim or do what tourists do!

Play more tournaments than pits, at least that way you know you are committed for only a x amount for the buy-in.

Yeah playing poker has always made me being in my element / zone so to say so the Venetian promo this Saturday will be amazing - I can sit down and grind 12 hour days without any difficulty at all and ship the top 10 hours at the end of the week.

Anything else we’ll just have to see

I found a room at a reasonable price, I just have to change hotels 4 times. Convenience vs being a cheap bastid, the latter wins with me every time.

My team (Arizona) made the tournament as a 1 seed, so I'm almost obligated to show up and annoy everyone with my yelling at every good play.

I ended up cancelling my extra comp room. I’m just way too lazy and I don’t really want to go across town when the reward is so low so I just decided **** it I’ll cancel. It’s fine tho at least I won’t get slashed on future comps
