Netflix "Watch Instantly"
I just recently rejoined Netflix and was pleased to see they have added a "Watch Instantly" feature where you can stream
Apparently no charges filed. Ritchson was deemed to have acted in self defense, and he declined to press charges against the other guy for reckless endangerment.
I'll take the other side of this one as we have some kids who ride there extremely loud dirtbikes up and down the street revving frequently and it's irritating af. It's illegal for several reasons, and when policing fails, **** like this happens.Several times I've considered pulling a Colin Farrell, True Detective Season 2 (3?) move and taking the issue up with one of their fa
I 90% retract my statement.
These appear to be street legal bikes and Reacher was doing nothing wrong. The other guy was entirely in the wrong hard stop.
The 10% I reserve for the case that this was their 30th lap of the day, and they do it daily, revving the bikes and generally being inconsiderate *******s. If that's the case, or Reacher actually flies down the street at 60+ mph (like a lunatic) regularly, and the guy has asked them to stop before - then I get it. That said, it seems unlikely all of those things are true.
I actually watched Reacher in "War Machine" today. Extremely standard, cookie cutter movie, but entertaining enough to finish while taking care of the puppy.
I started watching Bodies. Halfway though and liking it despite typically hating the way time travel is treated in shows.Have you finished Southland? I remembered why I haven't watched it as of yet. Apparently it was canceled with a pretty big cliffhanger in the finale. Still worth watching? That really ****s with me, kinda triggers my OCD brain to watch something that doesn't
I finished Southland yesterday. Holy **** what a show. And yeah, the last episode has a pretty big cliffhanger but I didn't mind one bit.
I highly, highly recommend watching it. Probably top 3 show I've ever watched. So my top 3 would be Deadwood, Southland, and not sure about #3. Maybe Breaking Bad?
Calm down nate with the GOAT tier ranking, but I've never seen it so I'll give it a shot.
Just my opinion. Obviously I doubt many people have Southland as a top 3 show of all time.

Ok. That's all I need to hear. I'll start it tonight. I've just been killing time watching an old Showtime anthology series, Masters of Horror, while trying to decide what to dive into next. Almost started Yellowjackets last night as the next season is the final, but I guess I'll wait until we're closer to the release date.
Speaking of old Showtime shows, I've been meaning to revisit Brotherhood (2006-2008). Underrated and overlooked at the time, the story is loosely based on the Bulger brothers in Boston. Jason Isaacs and Jason Clark star.

Looking at the IMDB, I'm pretty sure I watched that at the time, but don't remember a single thing about it. On the list.
is southland great in the same way people thought justified was great? i never thought highly of justified
Justified was great, but I can't compare to Southland as I've never (yet) seen an episode. It's on the list, now though.
yeah i mean there's enough people i know and respect who love that show that i don't think they have poor tastes or anything, but that show is definitely not for me
i mean, i may have poor tastes... i thought s1 of raised by wolves was amazing but nobody else seemed to like it (s2 was horrendous though)
I've never seen an episode of Justified
You are missing out. Ignore rickroll.
Justified doesn't "happen" until season 2. After the first 4 or 5 episodes I quit watching because it was just standard episodic TV. But enough people raved about it so I forced my way to season 2 (years later). Then it became facinating and exciting with long story arcs and character development. Turned out to be great!
Agree. I struggled thru S1 originally. Went more smoothly the second time thru, I guess. Still re-watching, actually. It's on my current list, but usually only when MrsOne is out or asleep.
Season 2 of Justified is my top 10 (might have slipped as of 2017) seasons of any show. The rest is still very good and I thought the final episode, especially final scene, was amazing! The reboot didn’t need to exist, but if they do decide on a 2nd season of that, I’d be on board based on how S1 ended.
oh i only got through 2-3 episodes and was out
does it work to skip the 1st season?
I don’t remember well enough to be sure, but I feel like a 10 minute recap video on YouTube would be more than enough.
I made it through season S4 E4 of Justified, based largely on the recommendation of this forum years ago, and while it's good enough, I never really loved it. Certainly not bad if I got through that many seasons, but just not particularly special.
If you enjoy Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins, they're the main draw imo - as the writing can go of the rails a bit and is typically pretty linear.
I agree with Snipe, in my recollection the show leans heavily on those two actors to basically play their best known (arche)types. They do it well.
Despite watching all of it, I think, I don't remember any other characters, or a special story line. It feels like a cheaper, simplified Deadwood.
Goggins in Justified is great. I started Southland last night. Seems good. Kinda laughable to watch a show nowadays where **** is bleeped out, hopefully the later seasons quit doing that. I would describe Southland so far as a watered down version of the Shield, without the dirty cops.

After a while you can even get used to constant use of "frak" (battlestar galactica), or a laugh track so I imagine you'll be fine

S1 of Southland was on NBC so a lot of stuff got bleeped out. S2-S5 were on TNT and they let 'er rip.
All these years, I've been pronouncing Hole as hole, and not Hoo-Le. Either way, I'm looking forward to Netflix's Harry Hole series. Loved the books, and Nesbo (I can't make that Norwegian o) is involved in the writing.
Was unaware of the movie The Snowman(2017), also based on Harry Hole. Anyone remember it? 5/10 on IMDB. It's now in the queue as well.
I will feel guilty if Mark doesn't thoroughly enjoy Southland
