[ClubWPTGold] Unofficial Thread
time for a thread imo
it wouldnt be 2+2 if there wasnt players asking to make amazing games worse because of stuff and things
Having one tournament drag on for 5 more hours than all the other tournaments that start around that time sucks. It becomes so ridiculously deep that it is a totally different experience than all their other MTTs. You think fish enjoy sitting there one-tabling a tournament until 7AM EST? Especially when you consider that many of these fish work in the morning? Fish want action, the gamble, and they want to know if they'll win or lose, and how much, way more quickly than this tournament will offer them. Address these issues and it's extremely likely that even more fish will play and re-buy if they bust early. More fish entries make an amazing game even better.
But nah, I'm very sorry for suggesting things that would make this tournament more palatable to the average fish.
Probably pretty damn high. I'm guessing the people posting bashing posts are the ones running above EV. I'm not saying the site isn't beatable but you need an absurd winrate to beat the rake for any significant hourly especially at lower than mid stakes. That's a pretty undeniable fact.
I made a lot in October and November.
I'm breaking even since December (PLO)
I haven't been playing great but I can't imagine this ever happening playing live, breaking even for 4 months
This reminds me of GG Poker back in the day.
If I'm gonna play here again at cash games, I'll need to play much tighter. The high rake penalizes high VPIP players the most.
Guys, I'm wondering, everything you say here: does it only apply to Club WPT Gold, or also to WPT Global? And if I'm living in Vietnam, I only have access to the latter, right?
Played there for half a year, fields seem very soft
Finally shipped something worthwhile since I started playing again last year. Just binked the 6 pm 20K 6 max for 3900
I'm not even seeing the rake when I check a PLO HH. How did somebody do a rake analyses on the site
Can we get an estimate on these limits per hour how much rake we are playing from the NL tables or PLO?
guys
can we get a petition going to get the table settings options toggled ON during the promotional period
my eyes are literally bleeding
this is so, so bad

I can clearly see the rake in my hands. The analysis is correct. Higher than a live game in California.

For what stakes? It depends on the limit right? The 2/4 game might have the best rake structure at 7 dollars cap with the bigger buy-ins.
Where does it show the rake? in the HH? Not sure why I didn't see it before when I was looking for it.
Thanks

Most people are going to be in a similar boat. The games are soft, but not as crazy as they were when the free money was available via sweeps. The rake is just too high for almost anyone to beat long term at the mid to upper level. I've dropped down two levels and I'm winning again, but many times I will end a session thinking I'm up 5-6 buyins, only to be up 2-3. It's a rake trap. We know what win rates look like long term and the math doesn't math.
If you look back, two months ago there would be a couple of 5/10/20's and 8+ 2/4/8's running during the day. There are two tables right now and only three 1/2/4. There were 20+ a month ago at that level. For me, I am about done unless the rake drops.
lol i played a bunch during the gift box promo yesterday and didn't get **** but I assume they algorithmically ship everything to the losers... which is good!
idk, i'm not sure I have anything to complain about this site. but I have been crushing it since i deposited. I suppose you need to be crushing for like 10bb/100 at least to feel good about grinding on here.

You need to be crushing for much much much higher than 10bb/100. They're raking 31bb a table per 100. You'd need to be making around 40bb/100 per table at 1/2 for any sort of meaningful hourly.
Funny I got bashed at first but now posters are seeing what I'm talking about. Those winrates are NOT sustainable long term.
since the entire site caters to recs, who for the large part do not know nor even care what the rake is.. is there any chance they do a scale back and lower the rake?

If it's really this bad, Maybe Code Doug could offer some support. The WPT is using him as their main poster boy and also his former training site.
What kind of changes are you guys looking for in the rake structures? Can you offer specific numbers that they should adjust to?

I think Code: Free Doug has his hands full dealing with The Lodge fallout / legal matters unfortunately.
2 days, zero spins, every PLO player w/ less than 5k hands on god mode. Classic WPT
Any midstakes (1/2/4) PLO players on here? I have some game integrity concerns I'd like to share thoughts on.

I'm also about done if the rake doesn't drop.
I'm legitimately confused and wonder if I'm missing something. The rake seems standard here no? Isn't it the same on Bovada while Coin has much higher caps (but gives some back?)

Coin Poker should be irrelevant to U.S. based sites IMO.
I just checked Ignition online and it was lower than WPT gold by a lot.

Why should coin be irrelevant?
NL20 / 25
Bovada 5% up to 16bb
WPT 5% up to 6bb
Coin 5% up to 8bb
NL100
Bovada 5% up to 4bb
WPT 4% up to 4bb
Coin 5% up to 5bb
NL400 / 500
Bovada 5% up to 1bb (this seems strange but it's how I read it)
WPT 4% up to 1.75bb
Coin 5% up to 1.6bb
Again, what am I missing? Maybe I'm getting something wrong here?
Rake sucks, but it's literally the price of admission - and seems pretty close across all the options available in my area.
That said, if you want to play elsewhere - great. More for me.
"Why should coin be irrelevant?"
Outside of the U.S.. most online and live games are fleecing poker players.
Not sure why wsop.com and ACR were left out of the analysis?
I think Ignition is more of a valid comparison than coin, since they don't' do rake back, and also Ignition has been around a very long time compared to coin poker.
Also, ACR and wsop.com have low rakes.

the graphic posted here shows wptgolds rake as the highest amongst the u.s facing sites by a longshot

This isn't a comprehensive "analysis". It's someone willing to put in a modicum of effort to understand why a few folks are so up in arms about the rake at WPT.
WSOP isn't available here, and I've never paid any attention to ACR. If you want to add them - please feel free.

No. It does not. GG is not available in the US, while Pokerstars is only available in 3 states afaik.
That graphic also only shows NL500 only and makes some assumptions as the author notes.
I'm not a WPT apologist. Something about the rng still feels strange to me, and I won't be surprised if we learn they have their thumb on the scale in the future.
That said, I saw a few people up in arms about WPT rake, and was curious if I was missing something. Seems like I'm not. It's just people who want rakeback, but can't win on the rakeback grinder sites.
Something about having cake and eating it too.
