USA Goes to War Against Iran
Time for a dedicated thread to the war.
How long will it last and what will be the probable outcome?
It's not like people can't reread your posts and realize that's not even remotely close to what you were saying. The doubling down on objectively false premises is amusing though.
It's always amusing when the latest smartest person in the room can't accept being wrong. About anything.
NATO is just part of it. If anything the EU has a stronger mutual defense pact
The Treaty of Lisbon strengthens the solidarity between European Union (EU) Member States in dealing with external threats by introducing a mutual defence clause (Article 42(7) of the Treaty on European Union). This clause provides that if a Member State is the victim of armed aggression on its territory, the other Member States have an obligation to aid and assist it by all the means in their power, in accordance with Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations.
How about hating Trump, not the US, and not helping clean up the shitshow your dictator started without having people like you on 2p2 pretend NATO/Europe is ''taking sides with what is a greater evil''.
I don't hate the usa but the USA is a place where someone like trump was well suited to become president (twice).
Trump didn't become president by playing the game well. The game was rotten to it's core.
What I'm saying is what would stop Putin from doing just what Iran has been doing attacking other countries in the region with missiles or drones. Tripping Article 5 doesn't actually do anything.
Putin should absolutely be attacking the military infrastructure of the countries that are helping the Western backed Ukrainian fascists.
this is what Iran is doing. if jets take off from Bahrain to bomb Iran, then they have every right to bomb those bases. and if those jets are bombing oil fields, or bridges, or universities, or desalination, then Iran should absolutely respond in kind.
Special military operation just doesn't have that same comical ring to it anymore.
Iran President's 'Open Letter' To America: Pezeshkian Says Iran Seeks Understanding, Questions US Narrative
Iranβs President Masoud Pezeshkian released an open letter urging Americans to rethink their view of Iran, saying the country has never pursued aggression. His letter came ahead of Trump's address to the nation on April 2.
He emphasized that Iran harbors βno enmityβ toward other nations, including people in the United States, Europe, and neighboring countries, stressing that Iranians distinguish between governments and their people
He's taken in the region of 200,000 fatal casualties in Ukraine and got nowhere much. At this stage the capture of just one more village is costing a ridiculous casualty roll every time.
maybe thats the price so Russia doesnt become another Syria or post-Soviet comprador state or even another Iraq or Libya.
I mean big Z dawg even said that he wants Ukraine to become another "Israel". who do you think they had their eyes on?

I don't know what Polymarket had it at but taking 200K confirmed deaths and still not capture Kyiv was pretty un strong.

He should conquer Russia if he can. **** it. Since youβre in favor of the reverse why not?
It mobilises the armed forces of 32 countries against the aggressor. Which, again, is why Putin won't go there, despite Trump's kimono-flashing.
I get all that. But those are just words. All the pushback I'm getting on this is just an Appeal to Deterrence, with no argument as to what that actually translates to.
Poland has transferred 14 MiG-29 jets so far, with a decision made in early 2026 to deliver up to nine more
Suppose Putin launches a missle strike and takes out those 9 MiGs. Now what? And for argument sake we can keep it simple tit for tat: is Poland then going to launch long-range missiles deep into Russia's interior and take out some of their fighters?
But say they do and a week later....
Latvia co-leads the international Drone Coalition (with the UK) to supply over 30,000 drones to Ukraine. In 2025 alone, Latvia scheduled the delivery of 12,000 Latvian-made drones worth Γβ¬17 million.
And a week later...
(Estonia)Artillery: Dozens of 122mm and 155mm howitzers (including FH-70 models) and more than 10,000 rounds of artillery ammunition.Anti-Tank Weapons: Hundreds of Javelin missiles, Milan anti-tank systems, and thousands of anti-tank mines and grenade launchers.Air Defense: Mistral short-range air defense systems and missiles to counter low-flying aircraft and helicopters.Small Arms: Tens of thousands of rifles, machine guns, and over 10 million rounds of small-caliber ammunition.
Now they're into Moscow territory, Putin's threatening tactical nukes everyday and a good part of Europe is on red alert 24/7. He can keep that up for a long time. And there's only one reason he hasn't done all that by now and it's not a piece of paper.

No, obviously, because those jets are now Ukraine's and not Poland's.
Europe is in a tough spot with Iran, they need the strait open but they don't want to align with or condone the clown show taking place in America. Pretty bad when even needing to contemplate theocratic Iran or America when picking sides, but that is what Trump has done.
And lol Russia invading Poland, they don't want any of that smoke.
Making a moral equivalence between the US and Iran is disgusting. Europe will align with the US if they know what is good for them. I assure you they won’t choose non action just because Trump hurt their feelings. Europe has always been passive and it hasn’t worked out well for them. The biggest problem for Europe is their changing demographics due to their immigration problem. Leaders fear backlash from radical Islamist sympathizers. The police in the UK will not respond to anti semitic attacks for fear of retaliation. This is why once again many Jews are fleeing the UK and other European countries.
I never said that's "why NATO was created."
Here's the gist of what I said:
Context and words matter.
I've also said that blaming and shaming doesn't alter the current reality Europe is facing. Some people can't handle that.
Ya this isn’t gonna work
Nice try tho
You were aggressively clear that you think the point of NATO is to blindly follow if one member (specifically America) unilaterally attacks another sovereign nation (specially one you don’t like) with the consent of no allies
You trying to painstakingly rebrand a truly stupid position isn’t gonna win over anyone but rapey or doyle
Oil prices jump again. Tell me more about how China and Pakistan will save us!That part where I'm talking about possible social media addiction is in reference to you and others repetitively engaging him, along with the massive post countsInstead of putting Elway on ignore like I did within days of first opening this thread about a month ago, you're all choosing to engage, endl
Iβm at peace with my choices
