NFL Offseason 2026
it's the most wonderful time of the year for pretend GMs - the NFL Offseason!
Sure the games are fun, but the 7 months of
are you an ace at ping pong and foosball like all my friends who went to rehab?
I am awesome at ping pong, but that's from a former employer where we played for hours pretty much every day for years. Never was very great at foosball despite owning a foosball table at one time.
My first stint the game was volleyball. Second place was horseshoes. We actually gambled on horseshoes at the second place and I made quite a bit of snack/cig money there.
Let me clarify, I'm white guy awesome at ping pong, not actual awesome.
AI says the world champion is an English guy. Can't get much whiter than that.

Cor blimey!
For funsies. Not that Brady is hurting for cash.
As of April 2026, Kirk Cousins has officially surpassed Tom Brady in total NFL career earnings following his recent contract with the Las Vegas Raiders. While Brady holds nearly every major passing record and seven Super Bowl titles, Cousins has managed to accumulate more on-field wealth in nine fewer seasons.
Career Earnings Comparison
Kirk Cousins' career earnings now total over $341 million, eclipsing Tom Bradyβs career total of $332.9 million.
Kirk Cousins ($341.5M+): Across 14 seasons, Cousins has maximized his earnings through fully guaranteed contracts and high-leverage free agency moves. His 2024β2025 stint with the Atlanta Falcons earned him $100 million alone before he signed a new deal with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Tom Brady ($332.9M): Over 23 seasons, Brady was famously known for taking below-market "team-friendly" deals to allow the New England Patriots to build more competitive rosters around him.
Statistical & Achievement Comparison
Kirk Cousins is a first ballot Hall of Famer in the Business of Football
People need to put respect on his name. Had a pretty darn good career and they alway talk about him like he's a joke. This when coming out of college they said he wasn't good enough and wasn't like by his teammates. Turns he was good enough and everyone loves this dude. Nicest guy in the world.

βTheyβ have a lot to answer for
Cousins won't be playing the entire season.
Kirk Cousins is just a slightly better Alex Smith. You aren't winning a SB because of him, and that's why he properly gets no respect. High floor, low ceiling players are unimpressive, and unless you have elite talent around them, it's a huge net negative for the QB position.
Those two are the last QBs I'd want as a starter on a contending team because it puts you in purgatory where you can only hope your team runs insanely hot or has an elite defense.
Him being on the Raiders is actually the perfect thing for them since they need a competent QB to develop their talent. Of course this also requires the Raiders to actually draft a QB, but they are the Raiders so we shall see.
We might win 2 games all year, but it'll be nice having a QB who can throw the deep ball with zero wobble.

weirdly, on the Athletic football pod, two of the guys seemed to be of the belief that the Fins could be sneaky competitive if they draft well. particularly needing some pass catchers
weirdly, because I can't see it at all, but they know the game and rosters way better than me.
I mean every year there are teams with super low expectations that end up doing really well.
I can't see them doing well enough to make the playoffs or anything, but exceeding their win total and not getting blown out every game could be on the table depending on how they draft.
