NBA is a joke.

Yeah, half the games seem to feature one team that's tanking. Games like Spurs/Nuggets yesterday are a rarity.

And way too many injuries. Realistically an NBA regular season should be like 60 games at most.

Raptors +10.5 for all of it

34/18/7/5 Wemby
40/8/13/3 Joker

1 TO between them.

They better meet in the playoffs!

Jokic is the only player in the world who doesn't seem to change (or need to change) his offensive game when Wemby is in the vicinity, which is the real testament to both of them.

Some of the shots Jokic hit over Wemby were absurd. His touch and ball angle trajectories are so damn elite.

”He's the greatest face of a franchise that I've ever seen, " Kerr said.

You are really starting to get a sense of how Wemby views himself and what he wants his legacy to be. The offense is easy enough, but what really stands out is his defense-first mindset and competitiveness. Any team fronted by that sort of guy tends to be highly accountable on the defensive end. As long as he stays healthy and doesn't have to carry the entire offensive load, I expect that he will win 2-3 championships, 2-3 MVPs, and enough DPOY awards to fill a closet.

I might agree with Kerr's assessment. Although Steph obviously is not the best player in NBA history, he has been a truly great player. He is a hard worker. His style of play is easy to pair with other great players. He always gives positive energy. He has unshakeable confidence in his own ability and never broods or gets in his own head when he plays poorly. He truly enjoys playing in high pressure situations. He doesn't mind being the face of the franchise. The media demands and media scrutiny don't seem to faze him. He has a big enough ego to love the attention, but not so big an ego that teammates dislike him. He always gets along with teammates, even the difficult ones. Because of his size, he is more relatable to normal people than some NBA superstars. He never says or does anything that embarrasses the franchise. He has never tried to strongarm the franchise (e.g., "I'll leave unless management does XYZ"). He has never tried to be the GM.

From the perspective of the franchise, that's a nearly perfect franchise player.

Steph’s playing style is like he’s a Super Role Player more so than a typical superstar.

Flagg drops 48 on the Lakers and overtakes Knipple for ROY. And they win which is bad

Me too. Only modern comp is Duncan. Jeter & Brady. Sid Crosby?

Edit: And Duncan came close t pair up with Hill in Orlando.

Lakers dropping the 3 seed kills the Spurs chances imo. I hope DK lets me cash out.

This is really well stated bc I was thinking 'and Duncan' until the bit about his balanced ego and enjoying the limelight.

Duncan also flirted with going to Orlando early on, fwiw.

I can cash out on FD and DK for my 70-1 and 45-1 wagers, but I'm letting it ride....

Brunson is taking the Jeter mold to NBA. Awesome teammate, who's handling the limelight in NYC and the media as well.

Is Luka even going to play. He has a history of coming back from the dead. Good luck

45*, they'll still get a top 3 pick.

70-1 and 45-1 are Spurs title wagers, not Lakers.

Knueppel is already as good, if not better than, prime Klay.

Discuss!

HAWKS up to the 5 seed!

I think Cleveland is better than the general basketball watching public thinks at 4,

But I also think Detroit could be ripe for an upset, especially if Cade isn’t right.

My bad ID do the same

I wouldn't give up Wemby for this year's top 4 picks. But top 5, and I'd be hard pressed to consider it.

Steph is unreal
LeBron + Steph next season !!! Captain Le'America

I think those four kids would mesh extremely well under Will Hardy but none of them are close to Wemby individually, and OKC is really the only example of a >>>sum of parts team.

You wouldn’t want a team with the top 4 draft picks. Pat Riley’s talked about this.

We’ve seen examples of young teams, where everybody’s trying to make a name for himself, and find his place in the league. You can’t build a team out of everybody playing for their 2nd contract.

Veterans and leaders are important.
