Need reports on the new room.
How was the opening? How is the room? Etc..
Same old curmudgeons.
Genius idea to give out $25k in high hand promos and then cancel the Wed's MTT the next day and looks like forever. WP Foxwoods!
I really would like to never set foot in this POS place ever again till they fire everyone in upper management who have run this room into the ground.
Don’t you love it when a European with a backpack says “I’m on vacation. Visiting Boston, New York, (name of touristy American city)…”.
*proceeds to sit at the poker table 15 hours a day, every day*
The room is overrun by flies. It’s disgusting. We traded mice at Rainmaker for nonstop flies buzzing around. Also saw flies at the food court options which is never a good sign for an eating establishment. 📉
I was just there yesterday for the first time and I have to disagree with the negative comments. There were no flies. Room feels more like a poker room. Waitress service was a lot faster.

Euro poker players have as much hustle in them as a can of paint.
I remember some German in Vegas who played 12+ hours a day a few months a year trying to tell some elaborate tale of why he came to Vegas that involved partying with 2 of his buddies who had to cancel their trip last minute but he decided to come anyway.
Then the dealer says "you come here twice a year, stay for months and play poker all day".
Nice try German.
I was at foxwoods spring 2024 and when I walked by Shrine was packed. Most foot traffic is in Great Pequit area so i don't see this poker room doing well imo.

Get rid of Guy Fierys restaurant and put the poker room there. Perfect location!

Is Burke open?
Two Trees Inn will be reopening next year. I wonder what kind of shape it will be in after being mothballed for six years.
It will be managed by a third party so I'm not sure if it will appear on the Foxwoods website or be part of the rewards/comps system.
The crickets around here….

They had 3 tables going tonight - yikes!
The Thu & Sun MTTs is getting only like 40 players - yikes!
This new poker room is looking like horrible location decision. Who could of saw that coming?
I'm sure the new PLO Thu MTT will start turning things around next month.

The overuse of promo days - high hands, 4x tier days, 2x tier and comp days, etc - is hurting them on days with no promos. Wednesday they offered 4x tier. Friday $500 HH promo. Mohegan had 2x tier on Thursday and $500 High Hand on Friday. The rooms were busy. With all of that why bother going to play on a non-promo day this week?
Went to Foxwoods for the first time in a long time. The new cardroom is nice. I'm not a baller so could only afford to play $2-4 Limit Hold'em. Was advised against it because of the rake, and should have listened. The rake is so high that despite how loose/passive the game was, there is absolutely no way to be profitable. Probably won't go back unless I can get a bankroll to play something higher. It's also silly that they don't have a low buy-in tournament on the weekend. I think they could get a decent turnout if they moved the Tuesday morning tournament to Saturday or Sunday morning when working people would be able to play. As it is now if I want to play the low buy-in tournament I need to take the day off work. Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts.

I think the reason they don't run tournaments at these times is due to manpower issues and they just don't need to turn a profit. They know they could absolutely get numbers running them at optimal times and even tournament series' with guarantees. This just isn't a target of upper management TBH they probably want poker to ether fail(they know it wont) or just tread water at this point which is why they moved the room to the absolute vacant armpit the the casino. I remember the $180 Friday or sat night tournament they used to run outside the racebook and they'd get 300+ runners some nights.
What is the rake these days? Any update on TwoTrees?
6 plus 2 for promotions every day
two trees donÂ’t know and new tournament area across from room is currently being built.

I was playing Friday and a player asked the dealer when the new tournament room would be ready. Dealer said that’s just a rumor. The player replied, “I know it’s only a rumor. I’m the one who started it!”
FWIW
Anyone play in the monthly First Sunday of the Monday HORSE game?
Trying to find out what they’ll be doing for June, will they be playing May 31st or Sunday June 7th.
Trying to plan the trip down there, if anyone can help out I’d appreciate it

Across from the poker room like where that little candy shop is? That should make a nice 4 table tournament area.. Hope there is some truth to this rumor TBH they always smash their guarantees
