Liberals win all three byelections, including notably Terrebonne which was the one they won last time by only a single vote. Normally at this point into a mandate the honeymoon is starting to fade and things like byelections signal disgruntled feelings in the electorate. But Carney has his safe, workable majority now and while if an election were called today he would handily beat Poilievre, at this point does he just ride it out for 3 years?

Regardless, right or wrong, up or down, this is now Carney's Canada and he will have the runway for us to judge ultimately whether he can actually accomplish his lofty goals and and the sky high expectations the electorate has for him.

Look at Steven Guilbeault Carney removed the carbon tax and he said if Justin did it he would resign. Now that Carney has removed the carbon tax, removed the EV mandate, memorandum with Alberta and does he quit? Of course not he has no skills and a criminal record.

A lot of the Trudeau era policies that remain in place under Carney are hard to imagine under Harper. Also, we didn't post together during the Harper era, so you really have no idea whether I despised him or not, or what issues I primarily opposed him on.

If you're polilievre you have a little under a year until a potential leadership review - if it's triggered. So your goal over that time is basically to hope and **** hits the fan enough that people blame Carney. If his poll numbers become competitive again, because things suck, then absolutely he can stay around to the next election. And like Trump's economic attacks on Canada aren't going away, there isn't much Carney can do to stave off deep economic pain in multiple sectors. Like little things like a pause on gas taxes due to Iran aren't going to help if gas stays super high long term etc.
