USA Goes to War Against Iran
Time for a dedicated thread to the war.
How long will it last and what will be the probable outcome?
Fair enough but Iran didn't have to close the Strait. There's really no military advantage to be had for them in doing so and all things considered it was probably -EV with all the assets they've lost. So they closed it to put diplomatic or economic pressure on the US. So the US is just doing the same back. We don't have to sink ships, nor does Iran. It's more the threat that's
Hilarious.
so land of lakes or other nerds who follow the ship tracking's. do we know if the trump blockade is actually working for the iranian ships? Has iran tried to break it
Paid $3.89 for premium in west Texas... cheaper than pre-war California prices. Glad I'm not in California now...
glad we agree that criticism of Israel is antisemitic. now it clear why its such a cynical idea in this day and age.
I have no problem with Jews that oppose Zionism. for instance, the Jews in Iran who's synagogue was bombed by the Jewish State.
Criticism of Israel isn't anti-semitic, but using "the Jewish State" to describe Israel doing bad **** is at least a little cringy, yeah? What is the purpose of that intentional phrasing choice if not to denigrate judaism more generally?
I get that the term "zionism" means "repressive jewish colonialism" to a lot of people - and that's really not what it means to most jews fwiw - but when you're describing a historically discriminated against population, you should probably expect a little sensitivity, and willful blindness to that sensitivity is itself concerning.
We've got people claiming that Israel is controlling the USA wrt Iran, directly evoking Elders Of Zion ****, with anti-semitic violence hitting a 30 year high in 2025 (
).Victor, you may be more influential than you realize. What effect do you want to have?

while Zionists have a lot more influence than I would previously admit, I still believe noted antisemite and freedom fighter Hassan Nasrallah's analysis that the tail does not wag the dog.
since the start of this thread I have been pointing out instances where the mainstream media or influential politicians try to shift responsibility to Israel and Netanyahu. I find it humorous that the same institutions that were quick to call anyone who opposed the Gaza genocide antisemites are now themselves publishing what the ADL and NHRA would call "antisemitic tropes." Rococo however, indicated that he does not find it humorous.

to me the irony in this war is how Trump has destroyed NATO under the auspices of paying europe's way, yet here we are clearing the field for Saudi Arabia, Oman, etc, while enriching Russia (I think they've made like 50% more from their oil compared to before this war began) and spurring demand for China's green energy technology
Trump has been wanting to attack Iran since the 1980s, and I don't think it's coincidental that we went in due to Iran being "months away" from possibly enriching uranium to the point of weapons-grade fissibility immediately after the Epstein **** blew up.
Paid $5.99/gallon for the cheap stuff. Worth every penny now that we hold all the cards because Trump announced the strait is closed.
Let freedom ring.
It could be. The news is always throwing out that 20% of oil flows from the Strait, but China accounts for almost half of that. Japan and South Korea have been diversifying away from the Strait for decades, so their suppliers can make up the loss, it will just cost a little more. I'm thinking Iran might have overplayed their hand.

Glass full of copium. But keep them posts coming, theyβre almost as fun as reading Dunyains garbage.
So it looks like Iran does not hold all the cards, contrary to popular belief.
I guess simply claiming the strait is closed is not sufficient and one needs an actual military to enforce it.

I talked to a Trump fan yesterday who expressed a similar sentiment. I'm willing to bet if you had to pay that because of a decision Biden made you would all be having full fledged mental breakdowns.
I think Dunyain was a Biden/Harris guy
I don’t think any of us were actually Trump voters and maybe except Elway none of us actually support a full scale invasion which unsurprisingly hasn’t happened and doesn’t seem to be happening. Sorry if I’m misrepresenting someone’s pov.
I’m also struggling to understand the people who simultaneously think Israel controls the world and the world is going to allow Iran to hold it hostage.

I'd be willing to pay that if it ends with Iran giving up on their nuclear ambitions. That seems to be the major sticking points in the talks. The US wants a 20 year moratorium on uranium enrichment and for Iran to remove their highly enriched uranium from the country. The Iranians countered with a shorter "single digit" moratorium period offered to dilute their enriched uranium.
Considering Trump is willing to unfreeze $100B of their assets and lift sanctions, which probably amount to that much a year in lost revenue, and how desperate Iran is to rebuild their infrastructure, Iran's probably going to take the deal "for world peace" or whatever they come up with.
My friend Achmed in Iran says the people are getting ready to rise up. He said armed anti regime soldiers are now out in the streets fighting the IRGC. He said because of the media blackout there is a massive delay in information getting to the people. It took 6 months after Midnight Hammer for the people to realize how weak the regime had become. Now the regime is significantly more weak.
This is gonna happen soon.
Americans have been driving around F150s and massive SUVs for years but are not suddenly hyper-concerned with gas prices. Lol.
