the only thing i was rooting for was the Fitzpatrick brothers to win so that Matt could get his card. don't think that's going to happen now.

but at least we have to 2026 PGA at Bandon Dunes starting tomorrow thru Monday.

I think the event could work better if it was at a tougher course. In four-ball these guys just absolutely tear it apart, and foursomes is easier than it should be. Conditions very benign.

I agree, this is my least favorite event of the year.

It's basically a by week that allows fringe PGA players a chance to earn some cash/points. It is what it is, players have a busy schedule coming up.

Doesn't Matt have his card he won last week or would his brother get a card

The problem with the event is that it is basically who gets hot on the best ball portion is basically who wins, especially if you are running it for two of the days. Probably should just do a different format every day. Maybe do something like both scores count towards the score on one of the days, maybe have a Stableford day, Shamble, Shamble but alt shot after the tee shot, etc. Only thing I want is that true alternate shot is on the last day. They have that part correct.

Congrats on Alex getting his card, and it was cool that Matt had to do it by making an insane bunker shot.

I'll admit I was caught up in the moment; I think Matt was better but they both had their share of poor shots. In particular the 2nd on 18 and the 2nd on 16 by Alex were not good. Matt also had to drain the 6 footer after said LW.

I think Alex hit some clutch shots on that back 9. Many from the greenside. Looked like Matt just didn't quite haven't for the medium/long game.

See a lot of people complaining that Alex got his Tour card for winning this yesterday.

Who tf is complaining about that? He had to make plenty of his own shots to win the tournament. It's not like you could select any random golfer and win with them. If anything, Alex should probably already have been provided an opportunity on Tour, but they prioritize KF players over DP, which is unfortunate because a lot of the Euros want to play over there.

I would prefer a system that allows the very best to auto get a card and then allow like a certain number of starts to others (tier them, so like one player gets 10, one gets 5), and if they can accumulate enough points in those starts, they can earn their card that way. Like Sudarshan was in because of being top 20 on the KFT, but if he wasn't that would be a good example of playing really well to earn status. And obviously he has played his way into signature events which most KFT grads won't.

Just a lot of people I've seen complaining about how he has got a card by winning a tournament with his brother. They also act like Matt carried him to victory, where in reality it was more the other way if you wanted to say someone 'carried' someone. Just internet BS mainly stuff for interactions. Obviously I don't and I think most don't agree with it.

A Canadian winning this event would be humorous. Let's hope it's Conners or Sudar.
