still waiting for MGM and Golden Nugget schedules and I'm hopeful there may be a Senior's event or two in them for my dates, but this is what the 10 days I'm there currently looks like in terms of day 1s. (probably need to schedule time for suicidal thoughts when I brick all these). I'm not a fan of re-buying for the same flight as I'm rarely in the shape of mind to play prop
current list of potential mtts for me. all of them start at 10am other than the $250 dailys at 9 & the satellite
arrive 10th am
11th 9am $250 daily Seniors at Horseshoe - not bracelet
11th 7pm $585 satty to wsop 5k (OOF - the rake! this might make it not worth it. we'll see)
12th $1100 Seniors at Venetian (this is 1b - they are also running this on 11th & 13th with day 2 on 14th)
13th $600 Senior's at Orleans
14th $500 Golden Nugget Senior's Champs - am actually really keen for this - have never played at the Nugget
15th $1k WSOP Seniors at Horseshoe
16th $1k WSOP Seniors at Horseshoe
18th $1100 Seniors at Wynn - 1 day tourney
18th 9am $250 daily Senior's Horseshoe
19th evening leave
I doubt I'll play all of these - I generally end up diverting to cash for a rest at some point, but we'll see.
I will definitely play both flights of the wsop event - will see about the others. My bankroll isn't giant & because I can't play a huge amount of cash through the year any more. so the idea of blowing a year's cash game profits on 8 days of mtt punts isn't super exciting....albeit that's what this has always been about for me - win at cash to fund mtt lottery tickets!

Welcome to 2+2. First WSOP? Awesome. You'll have a blast. I'm also originally from the UK and will be there during your dates. I have a pretty intensive schedule but happy to meet up when I'm free.

If you're going to be playing the milestone satties, some pay in cash and some pay in event entries, you'll want to check. If you can win a satty or two, that's a nice payday right there, and they only take a few hours.

yeah, I'm fine with taking the cash or playing the event. If I won a $5k ticket and couldn't get cash for it, I'd be able to sell a chunk of my action I think. Problem with the sattys is the rake which is huge - 17% = 1 in 6 for a 1 in 10 satellite.
I have a buddy who spent a few summers at the Rio just grinding the satellites & sit n gos. Over 6 weeks he could get a ton of volume in, so the variance was lower and he used to do pretty well. There's more awareness of sateliite/sit n go ICM strat these days, so they're not as soft as they used to be, but I still see way way worse mistakes in satellites than I do in mtts.

This probably just comes down to different mindset, and I apologize if the question sounds a bit silly (plus it might belong in another thread). But why do you want to go to Vegas and spend almost all your time in Senior events?
It's bad enough getting older (although it beats the alternative), but why announce it to the world? I get that some of these might be a bit softer that open events, but still. I can say with 100% confidence that I will never enter any kind of Senior event.

its not a bad question but there are a few reasons
I am kind of addicted to the idea of the pot of gold at the end of these things & that keeps me going. I've 3 times got to the final 20 of big $1500+ buy in mtts & made low 5 figure scores but never made 'proper money'....so I know it's possible if I run really pure but it keeps me coming back!
I enjoy the rhythm & flow of mtts....albeit the pain can be brutal.
I can play cash anytime I want (and my local casino is softer IMO than Vegas....albeit of course some Vegas games get very special), but I rarely have time for mtts. I'm a small business owner and a full time single parent to 3 kids & I just rarely have even 12-14 hours clear for one day, let alone committing to multiple days of the same. When I'm away, I don't have those limits
Senior's events aren't a bit softer. they are way way way softer. And the table talk etc is generally better than at open field ones. So if Im gonna buy some expensive lottery tickets, I'd prefer to do that when the odds are better an the experience more enjoyable
Could a June 10 MUG be a thing? Looks like quite a number of us are there that day. Uncle Feely will be jetlagged and that's my last full day there.

Barring IRL calamity, I am locked in for 6/06-6/16 with no real wiggle room on either side.
Will be bouncing between various cheap strip hotels.
Reluctant to make concrete plans, but should have some flexibility across those dates.

I don't like playing them because I can't figure out the players. Here's a hand history example: A guy that was getting short and acting about the middle, shoved. I was next to act with AQ. This would be an auto-call in the events I had played in before, but for the Seniors, I didn't have much experience, so after thinking for awhile, I folded. Next to act laughed a little and turbo-mucked AQ. Original shover showed AK. I guess I could just assume they're a lot tighter, but that makes playing push-fold a lot harder. I can't count on AQ or better all the time.

As a non-tourney player with limited non-cash experience, can’t agree more with this assessment based on last years WSOP Seniors.
Friendly tables. Less reg/grinders (so more people like me, which is a good thing). Missing out on the generation that grew up playing lots online which leads them to be much more experienced than I.

Shouldn't be tough to build a "2P2" table at Horseshoe,
when you check in just say you want to start building a 2p2 table at 1-3
or be sent to the 2p2 table if they've already designated one.
Or we all just agree here to move to table 1 or 2 everytime we are there

They're used to using those tables a lot, so maybe a more obscure table might be better. But if you do that you should be ready to play shorthanded at first.
I'm a Vegas local so obviously I can meet up whenever most of you guys decide.
Been on 2+2 for like 15 years and never met anyone irl, should be fun.
Debating making a last minute trip for the mystery bounty .
