Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan

True story: Khalil Shakir has never scored 20 .5 PPR points. He’s scored 19 a couple of times.

I have a hot take that I’m not that confident in, but wanted some other opinions on it…

The Jets could be a fairly valuable fantasy offense this year:

- Is Frank Reich as terrible as he seemed? His last 2 QBs were rookie Bryce Young and 37 yr old Matt Ryan. Can he be a serviceable offensive coordinator? I think there’s a chance yes

- Their defense absolutely sucks , so should have a lot of good game scripts

- oline is actually pretty solid

- Geno , until last year has been somewhat serviceable

- added lots of weapons to the offense and get Wilson back from injury

I know the coaching staff is not amazing, but if Reich doesn’t suck and Geno doesn’t suck, this could actually be a fun offense*

*there is risk that even if all that happens, by the playoff weeks they are starting Klubnik and all I said could fall apart

I'm not sure about fairly valuable, but I think there's a chance they don't completely suck. I could see them being like the 20th best offense with some solid fantasy weeks. I've been drafting Geno, Breece, Garrett, and ADM. I haven't clicked Cooper yet and Sadiq maybe one or twice. I'll have at least a little bit of both. I guess I'll mix in Braelon too, but I think he kind of sucks.

I'll probably mostly be playing the scenario where the offense exceeds expectations through Breece/Wilson/Geno. Breece/Wilson are still pretty expensive, though. And no telling whether we get Geno of 2024 or Geno of 2025.

Also hard for me to believe in Reich. The 11 games I watched of him being the Panthers coach was some of the worst football I've ever seen. But that was just a bad situation all around. Especially since my opinion is that he actually wanted Stroud and when he was overruled to Bryce, he basically sabotaged his way out. Tepper was also forcing him to have Monday meetings, which probably made him hate life even more.

Haha yeah I didn’t mean they’d be a good offense moreso, can they be the Brissett cardinals from last year w a functional running game

That's possible, but Aaron Glenn might be too terrified to throw the ball 40x a game, even if he's down 3 TDs lol.

I just hope they suck hard enough to land a good QB in the 2027 class.

From everything I've been hearing, the Jets and Browns are two of the more popular, "maybe the offense will be good this year" teams.

Davis has been one of my sneaky last round picks. Literally no one is drafting him, and he's looked better than Braelon (albeit over a fairly small sample).

I feel like the browns are a lock to suck on offense from both a real life and fantasy perspective, but maybe I’m missing something

I do draft a bunch of KC but that’s more a bet on talent and price than the overall offense

The Jets and the Browns, what could go wrong?

Yeah, I would not be surprised if Davis ended up ahead of Braelon in the event of a Breece injury. A low owned leverage bet that could potentially payoff.

Yeah, I don't really want any of them. It sucks because I like Monken. But the QB situation is just so bad. It's hard to click Judkins over everyone else in the 5th round. Fannin's price is alright, but I don't really want him either. I haven't gotten to much KC, since I'd rather bet on Pittman, Doubs, Worthy, and Wan'Dale in that range. I won't have any Boston. I'll probably have a little Jeudy since he's so cheap and can spike. I'll have a little bit of Sampson too due to his price. I won't have any of the QBs, probably not even in SF.

Like the Jets, I hope they suck so bad they find their QB of the future in 2027.

Alright, 70 drafts in here are my exposures so far. Idk why I have so much Gesicki and Schultz, not really that into either of them haha

I think it's pretty obvious lol

Now that I've got a bunch of Puppies under my belt, I'm trying to get a few unique combos. Here's a Zay/Burden

Looks good, especially with pulling Zay up increasing your chances for the Lamar stack.

I've completed 4 Puppies and 1 SF. But I'm currently in 138 slows. I am constantly on the clock lol.

How do you manage all those slows? Just set times to draft them every 4 hours or so?

Depends on what I have going on, but I always have a pick session within an hour of waking up and before bed. Then I make picks throughout the day as I have the chance. Having a job that requires sitting at the computer all day definitely helps.

And with the SpikeWeek overlay, it's pretty easy to see what players make sense for my team when I pull up each room as I work through them.

I usually try not to end up on the clock in more than 30 drafts at any given point of time, but sometimes it pushes to 40-50. I can usually move through 30 picks in 15-20 minutes.

And then as far as joining drafts, I am pacing myself to max each contest at 90% full. So the rate at which I'm joining is dependent on the fill rate. I'm hoping I'm at close to my max total active slows right now with the ones I joined at contest open finally starting to complete.

Last year I was about 60/40 slow/fast. But this year, I haven't joined one fast yet post-draft. Which I'm finding has made working through the slows easier, as I'm not feeling as much burnout with fast drafts on top. I'm sure I'll do some fast by the end of draft season, but right now, slows are more than enough.

Somehow I haven't been burnt out yet despite all the fasts I've done.

I think some of that has to do with the different ways I approach drafts at times.

Anything to stay away from doing a slow lol

I love slow drafts so much more. I don't know what it is, especially since I know most people hate slows. Maybe something with my brain composition. I also like being able to think through a pick, if necessary. Even though I can usually figure it out in less than the 20 pick second clock. But it's nice when I'm very unsure

With the number of drafts I'm in, it feels like I'm in a fast draft lol. If you figure I can do 30 picks in 20 minutes and it takes 30-40 minutes to do one 18 pick fast draft, the pick efficiency is pretty nice without having to multi-table fast drafts for a similar pick rate. The big downside is never having a complete break. But since I don't really play DFS or UD dailies, I don't mind being committed from May-Aug.

Hope released some BBM6 data last week, and 86% of drafts were fast. I'm guessing the other contests have a higher percentage of slows given they're timeboxed and the draft window is much smaller.

Am I strong enough at every other position to get away with this QB room?

It can advance, but it's probably dead to win weeks 15-17.

Yeah it's a fine line trying to front load the team everywhere else.

That one started off 0-3-6-2.

I started 0-3-5-2 on this one, and I think it has a little more upside.

I think the sweet spot is going to be either 0-4-4-1 or 0-3-5-1 and grab the 2nd TE by the 14th or 15th round.

Just realized Spags was in the room as well. He continues to be **** at bestball lol

His team seems fine, not exactly how I would structure but it could work

I'm just not a fan of handcuffing a 1st round RB, and he did it with two.

fwiw, i plugged his team into that one site

Oh whoops haha, I did not even look for that bc I didn’t think anyone would do that intentionally

Yeah I like it less now that I see the double handcuff

Gave that BB Assistant a try again. Ended up with a team I'd never make on my own. Mostly since anytime I've gone elite QB and TE, it's always a 0RB team.
