For the record, I believe 10,000 Gazan's dead is way too many.
IDF waiting for a [strike]reason[/strike] excuse to commit genocide and 10/7 gave them that opportunity.
As a philosopher, what do you think of the methodology that the person chose to arrive to 680,000?
Me?
I don't know anything about it. The 680K seems way too high, but we can't know for sure at this point.
Serious scholars seem to agree on 60-75K, but who really knows for sure?
I wasn’t asking about the figure they came too really, although I have priors against the figure. I’m just wondering if you find the argument persuasive or think it’s a well-founded inference.
Obviously you can agree with a conclusion of an argument while recognizing the argument is fallacious.

At present I have no reason to doubt the findings of the UN and other organizations that have given the 50-75K range. But, who knows for sure?
You understand some of these Muslims are women, right Or do they just not count as human beings to you
Groups like “Me too” took the side of Hamas instead of believing the Jewish victims of Oct 7th were raped. Now reports are coming out that prove just how horribly Hamas treated the hostages. People like you who gobble up the Iranian propaganda won’t believe it of course. You people are gonna look real stupid when this all comes out.

I'm marking this down as "no"
You claimed that there would have been 0 deaths in Gaza if Hamas had not attacked Israel on 10/7.
If I misread your post, please correct me.
Looks like there was something like 300 deaths per year between 2006 and 2023 so basically 0 in comparison to the death toll post 10/7.
At the time, 2022 was supposedly the deadliest year for Palestinians since 2006 with 146 deaths. Its a bit difficult to find these numbers due to the Oct 7th conflict taking up so much attention but the info is out there.

Source is Btselem which is unapologetically anti-Israel so if anything these numbers are inflated. And it seems I was incorrect the 146 number was in the West Bank. Only 32 Gazans were killed by Israelis in Gaza and for comparison, Hamas killed 17 Palestinians.

imagine how angry you would get if 300 Jews were murdered in a year
its literally an Israeli organization.

I'm not going to go through their entire board, but this is a person who grew up in Canada and then decided to move halfway across the world to live on stolen land outside of Gaza in the 70s.
Israel has also been supplying the Gazans with electricity, clean water and jobs for decades. The Gazans literally could not exist if not for Israel’s help. As a society they are completely reliant on foreign aid and Israeli technology.
Israeli citizens drove Palestinians to Israeli doctor appointments on a daily basis. People see the “bad conditions” the “
Palestinians live in but fail to consider they would be in far worse shape without Israel.

'Basically 0 in comparison to...' is essentially trivializing the deaths of 5,400 PEOPLE.

Glad you got your old account restored.
