7 defenses in short order is definitely nuts, but nowhere close to half the roster.
It really felt like it could go either way, especially with Foley’s “Win one for the weird ones.”
Crazy “burn the candle at both ends” run that fits perfectly for Darby. Guy left it all out there.
But to OneOut’s point, there were plenty of other matchups in the chamber. Omega, Swerve, Fletcher, Claudio, Andrade, Lashley, Okada, Ricochet, Samoa Joe. All of these would work, off the top of my head. Also a few others that could return from injury such as Jay White.
My larger point were if they were going to keep the belt on Darby for awhile, there would have been longer lasting programs instead of defending against a different guy on every show.
It was more like they said, okay, you've got this for a month, who do you want?

For sure. But, this is also the same thing Darby did with his TNT title runs as well. He’s simply an all gas no brakes type of champion.
What the ****. How was Forbidden Door so good? Everyone went out there to steal the show.
