Feel Wrath's Seniors Special
The Aussie will be in Vegas for 8 nights - 10th to 18th June. Staying at Horseshoe.
Itβs been 3 years since my last Vegas and I canβt wait. A lot has happened in those 3 years. Iβve had a very grim & extremely expensive marriage separation. Because of the grim part of it, Iβve become a full time single parent to 3 teenagers & Iβve had to manage both parents through my motherβs quick & depressing descent into dementia
So I feel like I deserve some βmeβ time. Poker took a back seat for two years but I started again last Oct & a lot of the passion & enjoyment has returned. Iβm mainly a cash game player but MTTs have always held a huge allure for the elusive pot of gold β Iβve run deep enough a few times to know itβs possible with a ton of good luck (albeit not in years). So my focus this trip will be the mtts and given I'm 54, Seniors represent the softest fields and therefore the best/least worst opportunity for a decent bink. And...bink is my plan!
If I play all the Seniorβs mtts Iβm looking at itβll be the ones below.
6/11 Horseshoe daytime $250
6/11 WSOP $5k satellite β evening. $580
6/12 Venetian $1100
6/13 Orleans $600
6/14 Golden Nugget $500
6/15 WSOP $1,000
6/16 WSOP $1,000
All of the ones above are rebuys, but while I might potentially fire multiple bullets on the 16th if I bust the Seniorβs early, otherwise the plan is 1 bullet per day and then unwind with cash games or shenanigans if I bust.
It's a solo trip for me, albeit I know a lot of people from the Australian poker community including a few good friends. Iβm also very much hoping to meet some of the lvl and other tpt regs. I've met a lot of llsnl and pgc regs over the years and it's always fun to put a face to a name and we've often got on very well.
Iβm not super confident that Iβll have the time & energy to be as generous with the report as others are, but Iβll try my best. LVL Trip Reports have been an awesome source of enjoyment over the years & itβs nice to give back
good luck

GL and have fun!
Have fun and bink away!
The seniors events look like a MUCH better playing experience than open events.
Have fun! I’ll see you out there.
In! Safe travels, good luck. You deserve some rungood after what you've been through.
To TJ's point, I agree. Seniors is a much more collegial atmosphere--in the years I played it, a few grumpy OMCs, but mostly just some chill older folks playing cards.
All skill levels, of course, but many more spots than I noticed when I played open events.
Enjoy the experience!

I am still of the opinion that I will never enter a single Senior event in my lifetime, but I wish you a lot of run good regardless π
Sorry to hear of your life struggles. May this trip be a strong counterpoint to those difficult times!
Good luck. Trip reports are the best, looking forward to yours.

Good luck! More importantly, enjoy the trip and the well-earned break.
There are some sharks in those senior fields!
Sounds like a well earned trip! Good luck! We may cross paths as I am definitely playing the Venetian 1,100 Senior and (probably?) the WSOP 1000 Senior. I'll miss the WSOP if I make the final day of Colossus π So yeah, I will be playing the 1K WSOP unless divine intervention shows up!

What about a super senior? I qualiify π I would love to play one but none running while I will be in town. Not sure seniors are so soft? I only played in one ever ($600 at Wynn). I was the stone cold bubble boy. But the play was solid and I find I have more of an edge aganst young guns who look at me as an OMC and are confused when I shoot back π

That's what I had decided, on a going forward basis. I played two events, did not enjoy either one (one was REALLY bad) and decided I'd had my fill. But everyone itt saying how soft they are (neither one of mine were soft) might change my mind. I did do a Daily senior a couple-three years ago and it was okay. Got a few pay jumps past mincash. I'll probably decide when I get there.
Good luck. I wish I could play the Seniors but still have a couple of years to wait. Look forward to meeting you in person.
Best of luck and most importantly, enjoy your time. Sounds like it's much needed and well deserved.
Good luck and run hot.
I can elaborate if we run into each other this summer π But long story short - why announce to the world that you are old AF?
(although I realize it will be impossible to hide from that fact eventually)
I get it, but the age isnβt going awayβ¦May as well own it.
A few years ago I was competing in the worldβs silliest sport (indoor rowing). Turning 50 took me into 50-54yo age group and gave me a chance to be competitive at Aus and World champs so I was super excited when the age ticked over!

Senior & Super Senior events are the only bracelet events I've played, with reasonable success.
Senior: Two cashes (none deeper than third pay level) in nine events/nine bullets. Two other Day Two runs where I fell short of the money.
Super Senior: Two cashes in four events/four bullets, both Day Three deep runs, & one a near final table. Bagged one of the non-cashes, but fell short of the money.
Needless to say, I love them!
See you on the felt, FeelWrath. If we encounter each other, I'll offer to buy you a post-session beer.

quick hold em hand I'm interested in opinions on.
I played a very uneventful 4 hour session this pm where the fish & stations all won & the regs all got burned! Only lost 323 but could barely hit a hand, other than this one
Interested in POV. 5-5/10 (1000) with the straddle always on.
There's a limp & then the only pro at the table opens to 40 from HJ. I flat button with 44 and the straddle also calls, limper folds
Flop (130) is J 10 2 r. Checks around.
Turn is the lovely 4 (still rainbow) & the pro bets 75.
We're 1000 eff. What do you do here? His range is so weak - he has no overpairs, no Jacks....maybe he has A10, K10, but he might c bet them too. I'd think he's betting KQ on the flop too.
do you raise to have any chance of getting stacks & also to charge the gutshots in his AK, A10 type hands, or do you just sigh flat as if you've got 55-99 & hope he bets or hits river?
Raise. If he has nothing, he's going to check the river and you'll get nothing else anyway. He isn't going to fold TP or two pair.
