I think Howard could make 1st team all-wnba. +7500 for MVP is a lot, but you need A'ja to miss 10+ games, Atlanta probably needs to be top 3 in standings too, which I'd doubt. I haven't heard any Bri news lately.

I'm really interested to see what Nakase's gameplan is versus Miles tomorrow, going under screens didn't work. It's in GS which is a hostile environment, want to see MN lock in on defense.

their rivalry is not the same as it used to be. those college games were insane. and first year in the pros when they played each other there was an intensity you could feel. they wanted to destroy each other.

that has cooled. last few times they played each other it almost seems like a normal game.

there was a flicker of it last year when caitlin fouled angel and knocked her to the floor, and people had to hold angel back.

but it's seeming like that was just a dying ember of the great flame

I think Barbie has mellowed out a lot. She doesn't have quite the same chip on her shoulder, she knows she belongs. Clarke meanwhile has gone full drama queen and spends half the game complaining to the refs.

Two games on ION tonight. Libs should handle the Wiz pretty easily, Lynx-Valkyries is the game to watch.

Are you speaking of Angel Reece when you say Barbie? She's mellowed out? Did you see the Izzy Harrison game? Seemed she wasn't mellowed out in that one. But she has mellowed with Caitlin for the most part. She only mocked Caitlin once in that game so that's a big improvement. She complained she didn't foul Caitlin saying Caitlin threw her head back to make it look like a foul. Angel threw her head back about 3 or 4 time to demonstrate to the ref.

Caitlin does complain alot. So does every player in the league, especially the stars of teams. But people like to single Caitlin out. But she also has more reason to. She gets less calls against her defenders even though they up on her tight from full court to the hoop every time down court. And she's gets doubled and trapped alot but i'm sure none of the players are making contact with her? Yet on the other hand they call every tick tac foul against her. And sometimes it doesn't even look like Caitlin made contact with the player. I didn't see yesterday's game but saw the highlight of her 3rd foul at the end of the half. The player stumbled driving to the hoop and Caitlin stayed in front of her with her hands up. I don't think they made contact, but if they did it was the player's head ducking into Caitlin becasue the player was out of control. Then the player flopped back and to he floor like Shaq just lowered his shoulder into her. Why didin't White challange? Why didn't White try to get a 5th foul on Reece in the 3rd quarter? Reece picked up a 4th foul early in the 2nd quarter and sat until the 2nd half. She never picked up another foul the rest of the game. Shouldn't White have tried to get her to pick up her 5th so she'd have to sit like Caitlin? Reece is one of their better defenders and a great rebounder. But White didn't think about that. No disrespect but if she is the great coach everyone says you think she would have tried to get Reece in foul trouble in that 2nd half.

Also Caitlin won player of the week last week. Then this week has 21 points and 14 assists(adding to the wnba all time record of 20+ points and 10+ rebounds that only took her a year and a half to break the record.) Then had 26 points and 7 assists this past game with less minutes because she sat out most of the 2nd half. And yet i hear everyone saying Caitlin isn't good at basketball. Granted these were bad games for Caitlin. But for every other player in wnba history these would be great games. Caitlin's shooting was bad in the 21 and 14 game. And she is shooting a fairly bad percentage. But she has a chance to improve on this greatly, maybe she won't as is just a bad shooter now, but her past history would say she probably will improve. But shooting percentage isn't as important as all the great things she does even when the shooting is bad. Last game she was good shooting and just the foul trouble kept her out of the game. And again every team has their best deender on her every game. And usally she's getting doubled. This while most player in the league don't have to worry about getting doubled anywhereclose to as often.

Somehow the rankings now lowered her after she wins player of the week last week. She now stands as the 11th best player in the league according to Bleacher report. Boston a few spots above her. Even though everything Boston gets is a direct result from Caitlin setting Boston up for success. Also most people are saying Caitlin shouldn't be in the top 4 guards for the all star game so shouldn't start. Even though her overall numbers are better than every guard. Her overall well balanced numbers are probably better than every player period. But i do agree Caitlin hasn't been playing her best. If that starts to happen i want to see everyone still say she's terrible at basketball.

Everyone keeps trying to push Miles and Reece with over the top praise, this while they trash on Caitlin. Now Caitlin will play bad since i said this. Miles is playing great but it's still over the top as they are saying she's gonna win mvp and best player in the wnba except some say Aja maybe till ahead. And Reece is playing alot better than i thought she would. Eevn though she has had alot of airballs on putbacks. But her rebounds are really good and points are better than i thought they would be. But again they praise her like she's on of the best players saying she should be ranked higher than that Caitlin Clark player who isn't good.

also Clarke is so bad at defense.

Ngl, I find the elephant to be a suitable mascot, it prances about in just the right way for the WNBA.

Another narrative that is over the top is Caitlin is so bad at defense. She's worse than the average player for sure, and not good. But stats say she's a better defender than more players on the Fever than you'd think. It's just she's the player that gets picked on the most because the defense goes after her to get her in foul trouble, so she has to sit on the bench. And alot of teams design the offense where their best offensive player is being defended by Caitlin. Caitlin was defending Rhyne Howard last game? Why? She's their best offensive player. So shouldn't coach White counter this somehow to keep her best player out of foul trouble? Jalen Brunson just won the nba championship and is now ranked the 5th best player in the nba. This while he's known to be a terrible defender due to his size and whatever? Mike Brown figured it out on how to protect Brunson and help his superstar point guard to stay out of foul trouble. And also not get targeted as much.

Why did Mikayla Timpson get the most minutes, and especially the final minutes, over Billings and Hynes-Allen? She never gets that role but White decided that night she would switch it up? And Billings and Hynes-Allen haven't been great, but are better defenders as far as i know. If Timpson is better than them both why does Billings start? Why does the Fever have one of the worst defenses in the league when the coach is known as the defensive guru? No disrespect, but it's a real question right? I wish White all the best. I want the Fever to win. Caitlin likes her, so i'm trying to like White. As long as White plays Caitlin more minutes so she has a chance to succeed i'll be a White fan. But she won't get those minutes if she doesn't improve the defense for more team help. Maybe it's not White's fault. Maybe it's the other players as well and not just Caitlin? All i know is it can't only be Caitlin that makes them the one of worst defenses.

I heard some small rumors that Larry Bird might get hired to coach the Fever. This was before the 4 game win streak. Probably not true but that would be interesting and fun. I think he'd figure out how to use Caitlin. Then hire a great defensive coordinator and make history. Bird from Indiana might be interested in getting this team right, and coaching Caitlin Clarke since he knows a thing or two about being a great offensive player himself. All the best to White if that ever happened. She'll get a another job right away so everybody would be happy.

Miles 2 points in the 1st half. I ddin't watch alot of the 1st quarter to see if she had alot of turnovers. But i saw her dribble it off her foot at the end of the 1st half. Then shoot an airball on a layup. She complained! Oh the shock? A wnba player complaining they got fouled? Maybe it isn't only Caitlin? I'm not a hater btw. I like Olivia Miles and think she will be a great player. But the over the top hype is too much for a player that has only played not even close to half her rookie season yet. She's not gonna ball out every game and we're seeing it tonight so far. Also if you're gonna talk about Caitlin's bad defense it should be pointed out that Miles is known to be a very bad defender as well. That being said, i like her and think she will be great. But let's be fair. Caitlin's not trash, and Miles isn't a mix between Jordan and Curry on scoring, and not better than Magic or Caitlin passer already. She's exciting though and like watching her play.

1st time Miles wasn't playing good and she lost confidence and is making terrible plays. 30 seocnds left she passes it from the in bounds directly to the Valkeries, i mean not even close to one of her players, when all she needed to do is pass to one of her teammates to go to the foul line. That was really bad. Again not a hater, but that was really, really, bad. Didn't see her college career but this might be the worst game she's ever played. She''ll comeback great i'd expect, i hope she doesn't lose her confidence. Don't watch the film on this one. Yikes!

1 of 10 from the field and 0 for 4 from 3. And 6 turnovers. 7 points, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds. It says she's plus 2 on the plus minues thing. I honeslty don't know how the plus minus works. Can anybody explain it to me? Caitlin went 26 points, 7 rebounds, and i think she had 4 or 5 rebounds. I think Caitlin was 7or 8 from 16 or 17 from the field. And Caitlin's plus minus was heavy negative. But Miles comes out plus 2. How is that possible?

yeah it was a rough game, GS has great defenders and they set out to shut her down. A lot of her misses were good looks, some sloppy turnovers.

MN 14-2 vs the spread

Acording to the plus minus thing Miles had a much better game than Caitlin even though we know that is not possible, or even anywhere near close to posible. How is this possible?

Btw Caitlin has missed 4 free throws in 2 consecuive games. I may jinx her but she's gotta be one of the best free throw shooters in the league right? So if she made them all that 21 and 14 woulda been 25 and 14. And the last game woulda been 30 and 7, and 4 or 5 rebounds on only 31 minutes. But plus minus says Miles is way better than Caitlin and of course Miles may possibly be the goat someday. This while the narrative is that Caitlin was a bust and the worst number 1 draft pick of all time, and considered a scrub who is struggeling to stay in the league. Maybe they are right, but i see it a little differently. We will see.

Obviously i'm exaggerating some on how they are seeing Caitlin, but miildly that is what people are tryng to portray.

i think it just means how much your team scores vs how much the other team scores when you're on the court.

Thanks for the explanation. But if that's the case seems like a very misleading stat at least in this case. As Caitlin's numbers are close to goat-like where Miles had one of the worst games in her, and even most any decent players careers. We should probably focus more on their actual stats as opposed to misleading stats imo. Right?

But i worry coach White will think they are better with Caitlin off the court since they went down 10 to tied when she didn't play. Please don't do it coach White. Don't limit Caitlin's minutes again. Sigh, it's so crazy i have to worry a coach wants to limit the minutes of the greatest wnba player of all time, well eventually imo that i think she will be. But still. Where's Larry Bird when i need him?

Tomorrow, or later today early morning, on national television is the trilogy. LIke Joe Frazier and Ali. The thrilla in Atlanta! I hope i hear it's gotta be the shoes after this one. But the dream have the better overall roster and are playing at home. They will win unless Caitlin steps up. Get your popcorn ready for this one. The big difference is Miles and the rest of the Lynx are good defensive players, Clark and the Fever are not.

Some is coaching, sure Reeve is leagues better than White, but Mn clearly puts more effort in defensively and force teams to really work for good shots.

You'll see when they match up, Indy isn't a serious title threat.

From what i have heard Miles is a really bad defender. I haven't personally seen it yet but that is what is being said.

But i do agree Reeve is better than White.
