NBA 2025-26 Season Thread: THE NY KNICKS ARE CHAMPIONS! BING BONG!
Lettuce NBA!
and lettuce lol @ James Harden
Flagg/Harper at 45/46, feels like both easy top 25 next season and top 15 within 2 years
I actually looked this up but it is surprising how rare it is to have a great #1 and #2 pick in the same draft. Talking perennial all star/HOF level guy. Shaq/Mourning is only 1 I found in last 50 years or so.
honorable mention: Brand/Francis, Paolo/Chet, Coleman/Payton, Robinson/Kidd

Hoping we’ll be able to add Wemby/Miller.
3 Hornets in the top 50 is nice to see.
Feel like Miles Bridges deserves to me on that list. Coby and Moussa squeak in at the end.
Really interested to see how we manage the draft and FA.
All-inMcKnicksin. π
Now I gotta do that 1/2 thing for the NFL FFS π€¬
this giannis situation feels like it could go a kawhi/raptors direction, offers so low that someone unexpectedly just steps in and gets him fairly cheap
I hope it’s the Hornets without giving up one of our big 3.

So far, factoring in that Pro Bowls used to mean something significant:
1975 & 1979 get Hon Men's
1983 Elway/Dickerson. Probably worth noting that Elway was never First Team All-Pro, including the year he was MVP.
1985 Damn good 1-5
1987 Testaverde/CBennett
1989 lol mandarichaments
1996 Solid 1-3, 4 was Ogden
1997 Pace, 2-4 solid, Walter Jones at 6.
Let's pause at 2000. The Jets had four first round picks. They took a 2xPro Bowler, a guy who'd be in the HOF if he hadn't played for the Jets, a complete bust, and a guy who was Comeback POTY his penultimate season with the Jets, ***AND*** his first season not with the Jets.
They also had four sixth round picks prior to 199.
Word on the street is LeBron really wants to play with Steph and could even commute from L.A. to Golden State.
Lakers want to throw a bag at Walker Kessler. They might not even want LeBron back at a big salary.
Steve Kerr also came back with the understanding that the Warriors were going to make a significant trade. And they are OUT on Giannis per reports.
Kawhi to them is quite possible β in addition to signing LeBron. Now that would instantly be a super fun (superbad!?) League Pass watch!
So what is the verdict on Giannis trade? It's about what I expected. I still have trouble imagining this Heat team getting a ring, even if Giannis stays healthy.
Basically a move both teams had to make.
Rococo was you or Mclovins fault for forum down?
Serious sports stuff happening right now and was getting the shakesπ
Already seeing rumors of Khris Middleton to Miami. Theyβre getting the gang back together! Wonder if theyβll be able to sign Thanasis.
.
LeBron please come back to South Beach!!!
I got Miami at 75-1 two weeks ago.

My main takeaway is Giannis screwed up not willing to be the bad guy and put his thumb on the scale. Made Miami/Boston get into a bidding war and Miami have to deplete assets pretty heavily to get him. They even had to take Portis contract back.
You gotta give some respect to Heat FO to be able to build around him because of what they've been able to do over the years but Giannis/Bam/Wiggins core with not much else isn't doing much for me. Market has them #3 odds in East, I'd probably say just straight ranking the conf they're closer to 5-6. His unwillingness to be the "bad guy" cost him, and for what? 10 Bucks twitter accounts going to say he made it harder to trade him at the end? Average fan doesn't care about a 2033 first or Bobby Portis contract but that stuff makes life harder on the Heat.
Also, as good as Miami has been drafting outside top 10 or just finding rotation guys, they better hurry up and find some new ones because Giannis is 32 in December and not getting any younger. Not like you're getting him with some long runway here. Feels like big part of them doing the deal was Riley/Arison age and keeping Spo engaged. Can't just have him coaching play-in teams forever.
Bucks did well with the haul they got, but obviously that is less interesting and we won't know for years what will come of it (not much most likely but still did well) And I get Bucks decision not to go after Brown, then you're just in the same situation with him a year later with a ticking time bomb of his value getting lower. Don't think Bucks would've been very good with him as that 8-11 range in the East is getting better.
And I don't think the Celts care about Jaylen Brown feelings so don't really consider it much of an issue that he found out he is in the trade.
Think pretty good chance they're still trading him.

Brown is gone imo. They don’t want a shitstorm of drama from him going into camp and the season.
Rockets/Blazers/Hawks are all possible destinations.
Nice writeup on the Heat. Unless they can add Zach Lavine on a buyout (or get LeBron to come back) then I’m likely just going to cash out when its available from my wager for insta profit.
