My last wsop trip to Vegas was 3 years ago. During that trip, I bricked all 6 tournaments I entered, lost at cash, was robbed at the LAX lounge on the way home and when I arrived back at Sydney airport I found that someone had crashed into my car in the long term car park and not left a message.
Jebus.
Last day in Vegas. Actually slept great. My two worst sleeps of the trip have been before my two day 2s. Long mtt days really can be consuming mentally. On that point and I am guessing no one else tracks those things but, my sports watch captures sleep steps recovery heart rate etc Despite not partying or drinking a huge amount and sleeping in the main pretty well….and getting
I wear an Oura ring, and during my 8 days in Vegas, I went from having pretty Solid resilience and relatively good stats, to high stress, poor sleep, bottom of the barrel resilience, elevated heart rate at night etc. Lol - it's kind of amazing and scary what this health tech can do now a days, but I can tell you, my body was feeling what my ring was reporting lol.
Relatable. I got back on Tuesday night and had some minor errands to attend to Wednesday-Thursday. Last night I could finally relax with no obligations on my slate. I zonked out for 9 hours, by far the most I've slept in the last two weeks. The "comedown" from the summer poker trips is typically a combination of fatigue and a contradictory 'When can I do it again?' impulse. I tend to take a few glances at flight and hotel prices, trying to see if there's any practical way to get back out there and keep playing. Usually the answer is no and I settle back into the normal routine after a few days. There is certainly an accumulation of fatigue that happens on these trips, a combination of long days, a hyperstimulating environment, spotty nutrition, desert heat, and a lot of exertion walking/thinking/playing/stressing.
So when ya going back?

First night back in Australia…. woke up in the night remembering that I’m actually 2/5 in mtts. The profit reflects the $250 Seniors I bricked on my first full day but I omitted the buy in from the number I played
Slept ok on the plane, the teenagers hadn’t burned the house down, the gf still tolerates me. All of them liked their gifts. So the run good continued
Added bonus was I found a bag of weed in my 15yo son’s room. He won’t be seeing that again but it won’t go to waste!

TBH I'm not an expert in weed at all - I grew up with hashish and rarely ever saw grass til I spent 5 months in the US post college & I've never been a habitual smoker. I like it but don't love it. But it's really strong - my gf & I smoked less than half a small joint & were wrecked
He has a good weekend job already though & earns decent $$ for a 15yo so he can afford to pay. And phones & the social media sites have made it way way easier for the kids to get hold of chems. Back in our day (well mine definitely but guessing for you too) we had to go to a really sketchy area off the recommendation of a friend of a friend, knock on a door and handle the situation in front of us. These days they can get price lists & just message people on Snapchat & get things sent to them/arrange a meet in a mall or wherever

I usually do an off the grid trip in August, and that looks likely again this year.
If anyone is already thinking about 2027, Caesars is taking bookings for next summer. I may or may not have reserved 7 nights for June 2027...

May as well given you can cancel for free right up until a few days before. This year I worked through roughly when I thought the Seniors period would be and booked 9 days at a very good clip in Jan and it ended up fitting nicely.
Not sure about next year tbh as I think I will be doing a European trip with my gf for her 50th.

50-something year old me would likely turn my nose to 15 year old me's stash, but I guess that's with the benefit of full legalization. I don't pay much more now for 'low grade' kind bud from the dispensary than I did for the worst ditch weed from my buddy's older brother back in the day.
often see signs for 100 ozs and remember when we happily paid 50 per eighth for pure west coast strains early-90s
