If you’re gonna degen why on earth pick Thailand over South America ?

Thailand has always been on my bucket list to visit. This is second time but first time I wasn’t able to get around to doing some of the things I wanted to do. Plus I wanted a place I could do to to be able to walk around random places to explore was safe. Thailand seemed like a good option. Last few days have been a blast so once I was able to get out of the red light district to explore that was helpful.

South America would be cool. I went to Puerto Rico once for a 2 week work type holiday and seemed like there was some trouble to get into for sure. Brazil would be cool that’s on my bucket list.

Instead of going to Pattaya I think im going to go to Macau on July 3rd when I have this room booked through. Bangkok has been awesome and once I know the places to go and not to for fun it’s been a blast. The sickest thing about Bangkok is you can order really cheap food to your hotel delivered by motorcycle from all over the city. It’s like the price of a fast food meal and so I’ve been eating awesome food. I went to this weekend food market place this morning by the metro it’s called Chatuchak Weekend Market they sell all sorts of shit. I was just taste testing random things I saw this crazy dish I thought it was chicken but turned out it was octopus. Kinda nasty wasn’t sure if it was intestines at first or not when I realized it wasn’t chicken. The chicken and burgers and other American food tastes strange like it all has subtle flavors of fish it’s gross but everything else smacks. Thai people can cook but they sure as hell can’t make a burger properly. Thai beer is good though. Crispy fresh. Like as I’m writing this I want to puke because my Caesar salad tastes like the lettuce was grown from the side of the road.

My +1 is getting a little clingy I think she understands I have deep pockets and don’t give a shit but I’m gonna have to put her on ignore because she’s talking about babies and shit. I met a lady at a bar yesterday she was begging me to take her with so she didn’t have to dance she said she felt tired and wanted to just walk with me. I gave the bar her fine so we went to grab a beer and explored a shopping center. We came back watched a random Asian movie with subtitles. Had a coffee in the morning and she left she was pretty cool actually really nice person. Didn’t even boom boom just chilled with her for like 15 hours. She was well worth the company. She’s the one that told me to go to the weekend market. We exchanged numbers maybe I’ll try to link back up before I leave.

I’ve been reading up on Pattaya and don’t think that vibe is quite what I’m looking for. I don’t want a centralized nightlife with older guys and generally older ladies. I like exploring or gambling. I can get a cheap reasonable hotel room for like $35 a night close to card rooms and a flight ticket there is only $140. The smallest nlhe games they run are $6/$12, which is definitely bigger than what im used to but im comfortable with those stakes. I think min buy in is like $550 and max is $3000 if I blow through a few stacks quickly probably will just come back to this hotel since I have to fly out of Bangkok anyways on July 15th. I was able to Western Union myself $7k cash today since I blew through what I brought in my wallet. I asked for some in HKD to save on exhange rates since that’s macau currency used.

Maybe I’ll try to run up what I’m able to fly with which is about $10k usd without having to claim it. I don’t speak any Chinese which might make for some interesting poker decisions but I think that might be better than a few days in Pattaya. Could be interesting experience and maybe I can profit or run good.

Mate you're overthinking it, there are thousands of legit massage parlours in Bkk and there is nothing exploitative about it. Usually the older ones also give best massages, they are professionals with years of experience, not people who "ended up there".

Also, if you got the sense that the economy revolves around exploitation, which it doesn't, it's probably because you stayed in the most touristy area. It's the same as staying in Times Square and thinking the whole country is like that.

Also Bkk is huge, there are only specific areas that might be like you describe, it's very low % of the city.

E: Seems like you deleted your post.

Hi, sounds interesting—good luck. I read a bit of it—what's the final verdict on the cash game?
