** World Cup 2026 - USA, Canada, Mexico Thread **
Saw no thread was active yet while it starts tomorrow so I'd gave it a go
No real time for an extensive write-up but lets
as of now
senegal is now vs england
iran will play switzerland
oh that's fun
austria/algeria/korea vs belgium austria/algeria vs spain basically if this holds for the austria/algeria game. Austria has the tiebreaker over korea according to reddit, so algeria by 1 still knocks out korea which is good cause korea won't score but will put us all to sleep watching the game.
offsides or that would've been an all time choke from congo
I cant tell if this Colombia team is better than I thought or if Portugal is trash.
Pen for DRC!
They need to win to advance.
they really should get rid of stutter stepping on PK's
edit--wissa did not missa it though 1-1
Oh my
Iran sweating bullets now.
Korea will be out.
uzbekistan was like tunisia in that they just didn't belong here and dr congo is nowhere near good enough to beat england but they are a lot better than uzbekistan is.
Iran still has outs, uzbekistan fluke draw, the last game having a winner instead of a draw, but man idk how there's not some chess like agreement to do jack all for a draw and leave for both teams in that game, there's no incentive for anything else for either side.
If Portugal doesnt win they are facing Croatia. Otherwise its Ghana
Congo vs England, that should be fun
How was that offside. Brilliant game at least between two teams trying to win the group. They gave us what Norway denied us.
Iran were like 80% to qualify 5 hrs ago.
They're down to the last game. They need Algeria and Austria to not draw.
Argentina can basically walk into the semi final at this point
Austria would be better off losing and facing Switzerland in the 'easier' path rather than Spain in the harder path
Messi benched, he no doubt wants to get some minutes to add to his tally though.

I thought it was only about 60 myself, I think these markets models aren't adjusting well enough to what are unique situations. (they vastly underrated DR congo or overrated uzbekistan for sure)
it's simple at this point
austria win/draw play spain
algeria win play spain, draw play switzerland
iran plays switzerland if above game is not a draw
otherwise they're out
Austria would be better off losing and facing Switzerland in the 'easier' path rather than Spain in the harder path
Seems crazy to me that if that is explicitly true the draw is still trading around 2.10 on the exchanges.
I thought if someone lost they could get an easier path? or something like that?
That scenario was possible but it's now dead.
