Hello fellow grinders.

I've made a post yesterday on the reddit forum about exactly the same situation many of you are also going through. You can find the link here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/GGPoker/comment...

Cliffs:

Account frozen since 19 May
Answering instantly on all the requests from security (all the same standard questions as the rest are getting)
Account permantly closed on the 30th of June for alleged RTA use.
Security told me to contact Cashier to cash out my remaining funds, they would process a manual withdrawal within 24 hours.
Cashier confirmed only my balance of $9.518,43. They didn't confirm my $12,500 rakeback in Gems. They ignored my reminders and a formal notice.
The helpdesk at GGPoker helped me out yesterday and let me login to exchange my GEMS into cash.

My GGPoker username: IRunItOnce

Now i'm awaiting for my effective withdrawal, which they promised to do within 24hours on the 30th of June.

As everyone who is going through this process knows, it's so mentally draining, it's so unfair and such an injustice is happening right in front of your eyes, and your hands are just tied behind your back.

I obviously never used RTA and would never want to earn any $ that way, that goes against my nature.

Stay strong everyone.

UPDATE: I received another (probably final) response from GGPoker Security.

They have now confirmed a few additional points:

-The ban is based on an alleged breach of their Real-Time Assistance (RTA) policy.
-They state that their system detected a violation at least once between April 29, 2026 (when I received the in-client warning) and June 17, 2026 (when my account was restricted).
-They say the decision went through multiple layers of human review, including a senior reviewer.
-They have also temporarily unlocked my account so I can claim my GEM balance, although my gameplay remains permanently restricted.

However, the core issues are still unanswered.

They still refuse to explain:

-What they believe I used;
-When the alleged violation actually occurred;
-Which session or tournament triggered their conclusion.
-Whether this was based on one event or multiple events;
-Any evidence that would allow me to understand or challenge their findings.

Their position remains that they "cannot disclose" the algorithms, detection methods, technical data or methodology.

I've consistently maintained the same position from day one: I did not use RTA while playing. After receiving the warning on April 29, I immediately contacted support to understand what had triggered it, but I never received any meaningful guidance that would allow me to identify or correct a potential issue. I continued playing in good faith while trying to resolve the situation, only to later receive a permanent ban.

I'm sharing this update because I believe transparency benefits both players and the integrity of the game. This discussion has never been about attacking GGPoker—it's about understanding how a player can defend themselves when such a serious accusation is made without any specific evidence being disclosed.

Thank you again to everyone who has shared similar experiences or constructive opinions. Every additional case helps build a clearer picture of how these situations are being handled.

Hi, I can relate 100% to your situation. The entire process and the messages from GG sound almost identical to what happened to me.

About a year ago, my account was temporarily suspended over similar concerns. After an investigation, I was allowed to continue playing, so I assumed everything had been resolved.

This year, while playing higher stakes and still being a winning player, they conducted another investigation. A few weeks later, my account was permanently banned.

A friend of mine, who is also a winning player, went through a very similar process and was permanently banned as well.

Throughout the process, I mostly received generic responses. I offered to provide hand histories, record my play, or submit any other evidence that could help demonstrate that I play honestly. I didn’t get the impression that those offers were ever seriously considered.

I fully support efforts to catch actual cheaters. At the same time, I hope the process is robust enough to avoid false positives, because if cases like mine and my friend’s are genuine, that’s something the community should be aware of.

Neither my friend nor I went public with this before because we didn’t think it would change anything. But after seeing posts like yours, I felt it was worth sharing my experience.

Best of luck, mate.

that sucks, i played a lot vs u and i also got this investigation, probably at the same time as u, and i saw other players at the time who also got that, at the time they said my account was not guilty of anything, but now im scared, so many people having these problems, and by the ammount i played vs u, i know that at least you are not a bot, so idk wtf GG banned you for.

i can only say the same, i was also a "winning" player, but its just obvious that at this point gg poker is a bunch of scammers and just discriminating against certain players.

to me happened something similar, first they asked me for location and then a couple of months i got account locked also for a case they just made up.

and already before that was strange things happening. like pvi dropping from one day to another by a huge margin without any logic behind it. its pretty obv that if u are not losing enough to
them they will just create a case out of thin air to just ban u. pretty sad for online poker in reality given the fact that this is the biggest site.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm really sorry to hear that you and your friend went through something so similar.

What strikes me most is how consistent the pattern seems to be. Many of us received generic responses, had our accounts investigated, and were permanently banned without being given any specific explanation or meaningful opportunity to defend ourselves.

Like you, I fully support GGPoker taking strong action against players who actually use RTA. The issue isn't enforcement—it's the lack of transparency and the possibility of false positives. If honest players are being caught in the process, the community deserves answers.

The fact that more people are now coming forward with almost identical stories suggests this isn't just an isolated incident anymore. Hopefully, by speaking up together, we can encourage a constructive discussion and push for a fairer and more transparent review process.

Wishing you the best as well, and thanks again for adding your voice to this discussion.

Please don't tell me that this is all a big misunderstanding and RTA is not the new "Bumhunting", this feels so 2022, i hope they come forward to explain.

The poker dream is all abut being able to win, it's not a casino game, the fish doesn't want to be ring fenced in a pool full of fishes.

Update: I have now successfully redeemed my GEMS, worth $16,675, as shown in the image below.

The only remaining amount is C$2,306.67, which apparently I am still not allowed to withdraw.

I still believe this entire situation originated from the software update on April 29, and that some kind of trigger may have been caused by a background application that players might not even be aware of, or by something else entirely. As a community, I believe we should continue trying to understand what happened, even if there is only a 1% chance of finding an explanation.

I still refuse to give up on the possibility of doing what I enjoy most: playing and competing fairly and honestly. If anyone feels the same way, wants to contribute to the discussion, or can help bring more attention to this thread, please don't let it fade away.

Since I had temporary access to my account, I took the opportunity to preserve some information that is very valuable to me and represents years of hard work:

-First tournament: May 26, 2022;
-Last tournament: June 7, 2026. After that, I took a one-week vacation, and when I returned, my account had been frozen;
-Total tournaments played: 23,903 over approximately four years;
-I could focus only on my recent results, but I haven't forgotten my first 2,000–3,000 tournaments, during which I experienced a massive downswing and needed almost 10,000 tournaments just to break even;
-The following 10,000 tournaments may appear break-even on paper, but they included constant swings while moving up and down in ABI. Anyone who plays MTTs understands how mentally demanding that journey is. No matter how technically prepared we are, moving up in stakes always brings new psychological challenges. This year, I genuinely felt ready, and my recent results reflected that. That's why it is so difficult to accept having years of dedication reduced to an accusation of cheating, or being denied the opportunity to continue pursuing my goals on what I believe is currently the best poker site available.

Once again, I want to emphasize that this is not an attack on GGPoker. It is simply an attempt to open a constructive dialogue based on facts, transparency, and evidence rather than speculation.

If my case can help identify a flaw in the detection process or prevent another honest player from going through the same experience, then speaking publicly will have been worthwhile.

Hey ,

I created this account specifically to share my experience in this thread.

I have been playing on GGpoker for many years. I was never a fan of the high rake, but overall I had a very positive experience on the site.

Recently, I received an RTA warning unexpectedly. I contacted support multiple times to understand what triggered it, but I only received generic replies referring to the Terms and Conditions.

I completely understand that GGpoker cannot reveal every detail about their detection methods, as that could help people trying to cheat. However, when players have no idea what they did wrong, it becomes impossible to know how to avoid repeating the issue.

I know several players who received similar warnings, and based on the people I know, I believe there may be an issue with how the system is identifying potential RTA cases. Some honest players may be getting flagged incorrectly.

I also know players who are now recording themselves constantly while playing because they are afraid of being banned. This should not be the atmosphere around playing poker. Everyone wants a fair and safe environment, but players should also feel confident that they are being treated fairly.

I hope the GGpoker security/development team can review these cases internally and make sure the detection system is working correctly while protecting both the game and honest players.

The most concerning part of GGpoker’s response is that they cannot identify exactly what triggered the warning. They state that the system may have flagged the account for a range of possible reasons, including tools, solvers, or other assistance, but they are unable to point to a specific action or event.

This raises concerns about transparency and accountability. If even the security team cannot clearly explain what behavior caused the warning, it becomes very difficult for an honest player to understand what happened, defend themselves, or know what to avoid in the future. A system designed to protect the game is necessary, but players should also have confidence that warnings are based on clear and reviewable evidence rather than an unexplained suspicion.

And all this issues happened after system migration? All this sounds concerning.

Im all for sites battling hard vs any form of cheating

But when the punishment is a permaban and loss of funds/gems it should be an open and shut case and they should definitely be able to pinpoint what exactly was the offence

so what RTA are you guys using?

Keep us updated about your withdrawal. Mine should be done within 72 business hours. I'm curious. It's quite strange to feel relieved to finally get back your own money. Reality is still that you are banned for life, without any possibility to appeal...

I have already received it, as I mentioned earlier.
They don't answer regarding the c$.

Try to trade them in the cashier with someone. U can also put up an offer there and wait if someone wants it

While I could understand the reason they don't want to disclose the method they detect RTA, but this also give them the ability to ban any winner they dislike and concealing their true intention - and I do believe that they will keep ****ing over winners until u leave the site or ur winrate is close to zero.

To the players, I get it, GGpoker is ur biggest volume. While ur winrate is getting slashed year by year - despite how hard u work, u still linger around - because its a zero sum-game, in ur eyes, staying still give u something.

Don't u get it now, they don't just slash ur win rate anymore, they basically just gave u a middle finger up ur face because for so long thats what they have been communicating but u keep ignoring - they don't want u, they don't want ur business, there is nothing profitable to them to keep the poker dream alive.

And for how bad they abuse u, u keep coming back - not attacking them, because well, u still win 2BB/100 for 60 hours of studying, 30 hours of playing every week, its still better than nothing, right

Can u see the pattern already. In poker term, we are the passive fish in their eyes, they keep 3betting us and we keep folding. It comes the point now that they are so fed up with our playstyle too, they don't bother 3betting normal size, they shove in our face because they know our call button is disabled.

Yet, we are here, still "respecting" the site - still "not attacking" GGpoker.

Translation:

The same thing happened to me, and I know of two other players going through the same process.

I’m a winning player at NL200 and NL500 (post-rake); for personal reasons, I played NL100 for a while — where I was winning consistently, making almost daily withdrawals, and so on.

WITHOUT NOTICE, WITHOUT WARNING, AND WITHOUT ABSOLUTELY ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, I was banned. One day I tried to log in and couldn't; I got the same message everyone else gets: That I should contact support and that I would receive more information.

Just like you, I received somewhat silly, vague responses that didn't clearly state what rule I had actually broken.

I don't play with charts, I don't use GTO Wizard while grinding—I only have the GG client open.

I managed to get my balance refunded, but not my GEMS or C$.

I’d like to know the process you went through for that, as I have around 25 buy-ins at stake.

Thanks a lot for the thread.

This is nothing unusual. I know at least 5 players whose accounts were frozen and GG stole their money in the mid-tens of thousands of dollars! As a player you are almost powerless. You can file a complaint with a regulator like Malta Gaming Authority.
It's sad when an absolutely untrustworthy poker site like GG has almost a monopoly on online poker.

I also received an RTA warning and have been trying to get clarification from GGPoker support.

I contacted support numerous times because I wanted to understand what triggered the warning and what exactly I was supposed to have done wrong. I explained that I was genuinely concerned and uncomfortable continuing to play on GG while being accused of something as serious as RTA without any explanation or understanding of the reason behind it.

Unfortunately, none of my specific questions were answered. The only response I received was a copy/paste section of the Terms & Conditions, which I had already read many times. The T&C do not explain what specific actions trigger these warnings, what evidence is being reviewed, or how a player can meaningfully defend themselves if they believe they are being wrongly accused.

Because of this situation, I have started recording 100% of my gameplay, with myself, my desk, and my monitor clearly visible. I also know a few other players who are doing the same.

However, the frustrating part is that I am not even confident this would help if GG had already decided to take action against me. From the experiences being shared by other players, it appears that providing explanations or evidence does not necessarily lead to a meaningful review process. This is what worries me the most — feeling that I could do everything possible to prove I am playing fairly and still have no real way to protect myself.

I am recording mainly so I can publicly show what GGPoker is doing to its clients and document my side of the story. At least other players can see what kind of treatment players are dealing with and judge for themselves.

The issue is not that GG wants to fight against cheating. Every serious poker player supports protecting the games. The concern is the lack of transparency and communication when legitimate players are accused of RTA.

GGPoker has the right to refuse service according to their policies, but accusing players of cheating while they believe they are playing fairly, and then potentially confiscating GEMS or funds without a clear explanation or meaningful appeal process, is extremely concerning.

I hope GGPoker can provide more transparency about these investigations and explain how players can have confidence that legitimate customers will not be unfairly affected.

Are the players that are being banned/warned now (according to the stories here not for RTA but because of their winrate) indeed the biggest winners at their stakes? Or are they seemingly picked randomly? Because not banning the actual biggest winners while do banning the #73, #118 and #211 on the winners list for a certain stake doesnt plead the case of "GG is just banning winning players".
Although their lack of transparency and communication does...

Disclosure: I work on gaming-platform integrations at 2WinPower. I’m sharing a general technical perspective and cannot judge this specific case without access to the underlying evidence.

A running process alone should not be treated as proof of RTA. Operators need to distinguish between:

  • a tracker or HUD using completed hand histories and historical statistics;
  • screenshots or note-taking tools that store static information for later review;
  • background applications that may start automatically but are not being actively used;
  • actual RTA that reads the current game state and generates situation-specific advice during the player’s decision window.

A reliable investigation should combine several signals: the detected software and its capabilities, whether it accessed live table data, the timing of queries relative to decisions, window or overlay activity, network requests, and statistical patterns across a meaningful sample of hands. Process detection can justify a review, but it should not be the sole basis for a permanent ban.

The appeal process should also be more transparent without revealing detection methods. The operator could provide the relevant rule, a general reason category, the dates or sessions in question, and whether the decision was based on software telemetry, gameplay analysis, or both. The player should then be allowed to submit logs, recordings, software lists, or other evidence, followed by a second review by someone who was not responsible for the original decision.

The final response does not need to expose anti-fraud systems, but it should explain which category of evidence was decisive. That would protect platform security while giving legitimate players a meaningful opportunity to resolve false positives.

Fedor Holz recently retired as Poker Integrity Ambassador, and I don't think they've gotten anyone to replace him. Is there anybody else that we can contact to find out what is going on

by Slugant

Are the players that are being banned/warned now (according to the stories here not for RTA but because of their winrate) indeed the biggest winners at their stakes

No, I don't think GG is running a short con here. Just banning the players that win the most, even if they happen to be well known like Linus Loeliger, would be like taking a shotgun to the goose that lays the golden eggs.

Well, GG deliberately killed HS games so they didnt shot the goose with the golden eggs but they did kill his territory.
But ofc Linus is too well known.
But who knows the top 50 winners at 200nl for instance?
They could just as easily get away with banning the #1-25 winners there as #75-100 for instance, they are equally not well known.
But from the datamining sites top# winners I dont see that they specifically ban the biggest winners per stake.

Given that most of the players who have come forward in this thread seem to be both long term professionals and mass tabling grinders, I'd say the likeliest explanation is that GG have employed an AI that flags any player that plays near perfect GTO over a large sample. Of course this method will have lots of false positives, but they may be too stupid to know that or too greedy to care. Since they started doing this about four months into switching to the gem system, making it easier for them to confiscate a significant chunk of player's funds with less risk of running into legal action, I would say it's the latter.

Of course this is all speculation from my side. I have no idea what GGPoker is up to, because they haven't adressed any of this.
