Suitedjustice's Ongoing Mid-life Crisis
I woke up in the middle of choking to death again; though to be accurate, it was towards the end of the process--woke up
When does "Ultimate X Rat" become sj's undertitle? 😉
I have a couple of friends who spend a decent amount of the year in Vegas revolving around the peak tourney and tourist times: WSOP, Rodeo, Super Bowl, CES, March Madness etc. the rest of the time they either travel to where the best tournament stop is during that time or if it’s slow they live on cruise ships playing the worst 1/2-1/3 players ever. No OMCs on the cruises, everyone is there to drink and have a good time.
They’ve found it cheaper cost of living and more profitable to work this system for them.
I have the kid so I’m bound to a charter school and a job with the insurances etc. But I’m happy for them they’ve found a way to live happily and fruitfully as low limit full time players

I forgot to share the time breakdown:
~6 weeks a year: home visiting family for holidays/birthdays/life events
~6 weeks a year: England/Western Europe visiting GF/friends
~16 weeks a year: In Vegas
~16 weeks a year: cruise ship living
~8 weeks a year: at tour stops like Jacksonville, New Orleans, Harrah’s Cherokee, Commerce/Park West Bicycle L.A., Northern California, Tulsa, Foxwoods, Tampa etc
This is an outline. The actual friends also
Spend a couple weeks in P.R. A couple in Canada and 3-4 in Baja Mexico so
It’s prob 3 mos in Vegas, 3 on cruise ships, 2 at tour stops, and 3-4 visiting friends and family/holidays etc
They changed my UT before and I subtly whined about it in the thread and they changed it back.

This sounds nice. Like you, I also have family obligations ATM. My dad is going through a cancer journey and won't be with us for much longer, and I want to be here while he is. My mom; who knows? She's in her late 80s and spry, so she might live to be 100+, if decades of living with my dad's second hand smoke don't catch up with her. In any case, I'm in western Mass for a while.
Family dinner day was rescheduled from Tuesday—my day off—until yesterday, so yesterday I worked from 9AM to 5PM, then went to dinner.
I found a surprising number of slot plays for a Wednesday morning/afternoon, but that didn't guarantee me a win. I lost at slots (4 hours, (-$94)) and poker (4 hours, (-$58)).
I'll be back at the chance factory today.
