Update April 2018
********************
OK Vlogger Thread, we are going with some new parameters to try to make this the POSITIVE vlogger thread that it is supposed to be, not the AIDS vlogger thread where a few loonies ruin it for the rest. Note that 'positive' does not equal 'only positive', it means anything negative being said CAN'T be namecalling or wild, unsubstantiated speculation regarding any and all vloggers. Personal lives and anything aside from poker is OFF THE TABLE.

A new update March 2019:
NO ****ING POLITICS!
I think ELD said he gets nearly $1000 per month from youtube which is enough to pay for all his hotel costs and then have money leftover.
A very common characteristic in the professional poker community is a burning desire to "beat the system" and not have to work for a living.
Rice has discovered a way to support himself with a combination of various modest income streams, a shrewd investment strategy and a very frugal lifestyle that he seems to enjoy. Central to his system is the accruing of status, benefits, comps and promos from casinos.
It might not be a rockstar lifestyle that he lives, but one gets the sense that he derives great pleasure from doing what he does on "his terms" and beating the system. No doubt the utility he derives from this sense of self satisfaction is enough to make up for the more tangible deprivations that he endures.
He said his best ever month was 9xx.00. He probably makes 3 to 500 a month with YouTube.
2022-2023 season was the Golden Era of the Nomadic Method. The year of the Nomad. ELD could back then stay at Rio for a mere $7 per night less than $200 per month if staying only Sunday-Thursdays. Since nobody had conventions at the Rio unlike Harrah's the low rates were consistent. He had his four milkshakes per day, and the Platinum lounge at both Aria and MGM Grand for free cookies and soft drinks. Plus, ELD was riding the monorail and/or walking from Rio and hardly spent anything on gas since Herbs and Rye would drive when he came to Vegas. Laundry was done for less than $10 per month according to ELD's financial videos back then. Multiple free dinners including the CET celebration dinner, the MGM celebration dinner, then he tier matched to Wynn for the $150 Wynn birthday dinner, and the $100 Fountainbleau tier match dinner.
I watched so you don't have to.
Everyone will be happy to hear that Rice has made it to Council Bluffs Iowa,
and even happier to hear that he plans to spend several days in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area.
Rice's Law School Professors must be so happy when they see him on campus.

I'll bet he stays at least two weeks. I sure hope so cause then we won't have to be shown maps by Rice for a while.
This has truly become like driving down the highway and seeing an accident. I just can't look away.

The video has a date of 1/30/25 on the screen so by now ELD should be in Vegas.
What a joy for our boy Rice, when he can swim into these cheap hotel prices. I bet he havent been happier in 2025.
Looks like it. I heard Las Vegas is hurting this weekend big time, as reflected in these prices on SB weekend.
Yea it's crazy how hard room prices crashed for this weekend.
Even last year they tanked a lot a few days before the SB and that's with the game being in Vegas.
2 weeks ago those same rooms were all showing 250+ for me and now I have the same rates you showed.
It will probably be a recession this year with slow jobs growth and a lot of government employees taking severance and then not working in private companies since there are no jobs. Plus tons of people lost their Diamond tier since the Wyndham card stopped matching. And more nomads since rent prices keep rising.
Skater Nomad reports Uber Eats sent him an email that he is now fired.
He had too many cancellations.
Door Dash is still available but allegedly Skater Nomad states he has no insurance which is also a reason.
He is still doing the $10,000 Vegas challenge but will only earn money via gambling.
He then reports he will put the seat back in his car and drive back to Los Angeles to sell same on facebook marketplace. Then take the profits of the car and put in on the Chiefs for the Super Bowl and fly back to Vegas on Spirit.

I've seen drops before but this specific one was pretty crazy. I've rebooked rooms plenty of times when prices drop,or extended a stay through a weekend when they drop last minute but this was really extreme.

Same.
I was in Vegas starting about a week and a half ago. If the weekend days (2 weekends prior to this one) had dropped I would have came out a few days earlier but they held steady.
It's hard to figure.
Looks like occupancy rate this weekend is only 87% or less. Possibly a combination of LA fires stopped a lot of people from coming and sports betting is everywhere now.

More sports betting than fires for sure.
Also Vegas is just getting ridiculously overpriced.
The casinos are giving people fewer reasons to go every year.

It could be a lot shrewder. Maybe it was shrewd in the 60's or 70's.

This is a win for the Nomadic Method wherein now Nomads can stay Sunday through Friday and then get late checkout on Saturday afternoon and recheck in early checkin Sunday. Cheap room for six days per week. Now, Nomads don't need to leave the parking garage to head to the airbnb on the weekends anymore and can stay on the strip and avoid airbnb entirely and save on gas and traffic jams.
Yes! Another financial advice video from Diesel.
maybe he already retired from poker and that's why he doesn't really play anymore
When I watch the vlog in the thread does Rice get paid for the play?
