2023-2024 NC/LC THREAD
once more do we meet in this place!
Is anyone still playing at Bovada? Since Thanksgiving week the entire player pool, save for some bots, has completely disappeared. Wondering if they are segregating accounts in some way b/c its a ghost town for me. Anyone seeing any 10/20 or 30/60 games running?
It been dead since July once a bunch of states send cease and desist letter. There a few recs that keep the games running but probably bust so fast this year to sustain consistent games to run. Also it looks like it back to pre covid poker economy. Can't complain it was a wild +4 year run but it probably back to grinding live again.
I don't have to subscribe to a new thread, do I?
Happy New Year, everyone.
Nah, we will just keep adding a year to it. Less than a post per day average.
anybody remember this fella? good stuff imo
This is great. Love DDs voice
Oh baby. The rarely used notification icon gets clicked for this. Thank you!
Maybe it's just me but as I transition from other yt vids to DD's I want/need to turn up the volume. Maybe your mic could be a little higher in your recording mix? Otherwise love the content. Would like to see some FLO8 but mostly for nostalgia. Don't have mix games to play these days.
Appreciate the feedback - nobody ever tells me my voice is too quiet! š
But I will take a look at that going forward
Good stuff except...it is making me not want to attempt to play any higher as a pure rec now.

I mean fair I guess? But LHE and mixed games are stuck in a funny time warp, everyone that plays mid/high stakes NLH and PLO understands there are good tools to help learn the game, but somehow limit players are shocked this stuff exists š
PioSolver has been publicly available for 12+ years, we aren't talking about cutting edge tech at this point!
Are these videos you made just recently, or older stuff you just not decided to share on YT?
Just recently, though I've done this kind of analysis of my own play for a number of years, but I don't usually write any of it down / record it š
Watched them even tho I don't play at that level, just a comment you seemed to talk too fast for my old brain trying to follow the info from the solver(which I am new to so theres that)
Yeah I just talk fast :(
Would def recommend that you just pause them a lot and look at the graphics if you are interested in trying to learn a more GTO way of thinking about LHE š
I’ve never used PIO before but can ascertain a bit based on my knowledge of the game and math. But if that is the main crutch of your videos and are trying to get visibility to players not familiar with PIO maybe an intro video on how to read/ understand some of the output would be useful for your intended audience.
Lost a lot of motivation w lhe since oct. to get back to studying and grinding. I am down to give "advice" for a flat fee(max 5 people). It not really coaching in a sense that I will work on the questions/hands in a reasonable time line but no set schedule. I always hate explaining on live vids. I might bang it in one sitting or over a few weeks. My approach w lhe has always been to mix exploitative w "gto". I play against a lot of Live regs last year on Terabet so I have a reasonable approach how to beat them.

I think 5 losing month past 7 years.

Wow, very impressive.
I think the most eye opening item on here is the 54.6% sessions won for such a huge crusher. Is that just picking your spots wisely and leaving quickly against a tough game, or getting buttoned a lot or something?
Thanks. I just try to play whatever I can, usually only one table running at normal and two at peak and that including a head up.
For those in LA, does anyone have thoughts on how the shift from Commerce to Bike has changed the LHE ecosystem? The 40 seems a lot worse than it was at Commerce (even though a lot of the player pool overlaps) and I’m curious if others have had the same expensive. It also seems like the room promotes 20 and 60 much more than 40 - not sure why.

*same experience, not same expensive - this is what I get for posting from my phone.
Freudian slip, smitty?

IĆām not an LA regular, just an occasional tourist (~1 week / year). Can I speculate that the 1/2 kill in the 20 at the Bike basically squeezes the 40 player pool? The looser, Ćāgamble-yĆā 40 players donĆāt mind playing down at 20 for the occasional chance at bigger looking kill pots. The 60 player pool stays constant (those that are good or rich enough). Leaves the 40 with just the nits 😀.
Tenuously related to the LA situation: anyone know the story behind why the Bellagio mid-stakes ladder changed from 20-40, 40-80, 80-160 to 15-30, 30-60, 60-120? I don’t follow how regularly these games go, but I wonder if it’ll just eventually merge the former 20-40 and 40-80 player pools to just play 30-60 more regularly, outside of WSOP times.

There is a discussion about this in the Bellagio thread.
