2024 World Series of Poker May 28th to July 17th ***No Spoilers***
The 2024 WSOP will take place at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas from May 28 to July 17, 2024, with the Main Event running from July 3 to July 17. The Main Event – poker’s undisputed freezeout world championship – will have four starting days, beginning on Wednesday, July 3. Players may also register directly on Day 2.
I hope Viktor has 100% of himself and only came to Vegas with a few k for fun and is now just parlaying his way to the top like in the old days.
1.5k > 41k in DC
10k > 28k in PLO8
50k > 952k in 50kNL
100k > At least 512k now in 100kNL
Love to see it.
Isn't that how most deep runs go in tourneys, regardless of buy-in? You win the key flips, or you're on the good side of coolers? The nuance and skill of poker seems to lie in the rest of it, i.e. how a player maintained or ran up his stack in between those big hands.

i was thinking the same thing, really hope so but something tells me he has a backer although i hope it's all money won from unregulated crypto sites or app games, he truly deserves it after getting teamed up on by hastings & cole south
Anyone know what happened to Matt Parry?
The DNegs/Martirosian hand is almost identical to a hand in the 2012 WSOP ME between Gaelle Baumann and Andras Koroknai (except that DNegs limped and Baumann had raised). It was resolved the same way, in accordance with TDA Rule 89.
Here is a 2p2 thread about the Baumann/Koroknai hand: https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27/ca... -- please ignore the idiots losing their **** over Baumann's breasts (2p2 gonna 2p2).
A lot of people see the rulings on both hands -- which at least have the virtue of consistency -- as obviously terrible rulings; but Rule 89 is crystal-clear, and the rulings on both hands obviously comply with Rule 89.
On the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, in direct response to DNegs' tweet, Matt Savage stressed that TDA Rule 89 was very carefully thought out before it was adopted. I do not know the rationale for the rule, but my trust in Matt's judgment and understanding is quite large.
Big semibluff puts player in solid 2nd place in 100K NLHE.
100k final table underway 4 handed...and meanwhile pokergo decides to stream some random $1500 FT on youtube instead....so tilting
Haven't had or used PokerGo in a long time, is it possible they are going to release some of these post series? Is there even a demand for that, like the old WSOP stuff leading up to Nov 9?
Why would they put premium content for free on YouTube? Get a subscription for 1 month.
Chance Kornuth Eliminated in 4th Place ($932,725)
3 left! I'll definitely be rooting for Blom to get heads up so his past HU experience will come in handy plus that would be a really fun sweat no doubt!
Lol wow what a hand, misclick 3 bet ends up with the full double.
You could see it in Viktor's face when the chips went in that he meant to flat and not 4 bet.
the poker gods giveth to Hunichen (rivering the 1 outer the previous hand) and the poker gods taketh from Hunichen
how are misclicks even possible in live poker (im purely an online player so idk live guidelines that well)
Woot... just sat down to watch this, looks like we have a pretty sweet final three.
It's crazy, if Ausmus can ship this, it becomes the seventh different buy-in size en route to a bracelet.
$100,000 NLHE high roller (in progress)
$50,000 PLO high roller in 2021
$3,200 NLHE online in 2023
$3,000 LHE six max in 2022
€1,650 PLO in Europe 2013
$1,000 COVID relief charity event in 2021
$365 NLHE online in 2022
Of the players with six or more, no one has had such variety. Obviously, that's easier to do nowadays since the WSOP is spread out on different continents plus both live and online. On top of that, there are more events with both much larger and much smaller price points now than what Doyle saw in the old days. Five of Ted Forrest's six were in $1,500 events because that was a very common buy-in throughout the 1990s and 2000s.
ffs
Rooting for Ausmus
It’s 100% pronounced Reese’s and not Reese’s.
Wow. Soooo many river beats at that final table.
I bet if Blom was able to play it out last night instead of calling it a day, he would have won the whole damn thing :(

As I noted in the PG chat well before getting a 30-minute ban for saying "urine," it's not like people admired the great poker player David "Chip" Reesee.
I consider it one of the lesser-known Mandela Effects, sort of like Berenstain Bears or "Mirror, mirror, on the wall." People heard it wrong when they were kids, then never corrected as they got older. My sister is pushing 50 and still says "Winchell wipers," as if the famous gossip writer invented the device that pushes the rain out of your view when you drive. And I know numerous adults who refer to that first year in American education as "kinnygarten." They spell it perfectly fine, and even pronounce each half of the word properly. But say it together, and it comes out like a four-year-old. (Cue the "Cool Whip" scene from Family Guy.)
By the way, an interesting tidbit came up during the stream. When Huni and Ausmus began discussing a chat, Hanks and Ali started talking about literal nothing. It kind of reminded me of improv, with the participants firing out a stream of consciousness to keep the game going. Of course, everyone in the chat admonished Hanks and Ali for talking over the table talk, to which Hanks confirmed that they were required to mask any table chatter on deals.
