Yeah looking back, last year was actually terrible. Jordan Griff had the amateur story but he was kind of a boring guy. The only big known guy was an online Euro crusher, who's not exactly going to be too appealing.
2023 was not that good either
It's all relative, but Serock and Kim were also very well known in poker.
That being said, this year's FT has a lot more star power overall.
I expect the grinder to push the action and largely run over the table. But I do predict a big misstep at some point by being overly aggressive in the wrong spot. But the question is… who at the table could punish him for that mistake?
Literally anyone. It's NLHE. The skill gap isn't THAT huge, especially on these stacks. All it takes is one cooler or beat.
I don't think there are too many soft spots at this table. For example, Minghini would be considered a longshot by most, yet he is a GPI top 2,000 player with 160 tracked live cashes on Hendon Mob. Clearly he knows his way around the poker table and won't just be dumping his chips and getting wrecked in every spot.
Skill matters, but the winner will probably be someone who gets hit by the deck at key times. I won't make predictions. I think nearly anyone can win.

Grinder winning this puts him in the Ivey, Hellmuth, Chan, Doyle discussion. He would surpass Daniel Negs

Will kassouf banned from WSOP
What's your take?
First I’ve heard of it.

For a professional I dont think you can get much better player than Astedt/Lena900 for the final table. Compared to these nitty american regs we get every year he was way more open to playing actual aggressive poker. Compare to Tamayo folding QQ to a single raise lol... thats how most "pros" play. This year regs are boring as f compared to Astedt.

I thought the actual play in 2023 was pretty interesting, but Tamayo Griff Astedt were Hellmuth Mouth DNegs in comparison.

lol Astedt. “He called me with KJ honey”
2023 was good until the final 3 where they suddenly started playing at turbo speed with strange decisions. Still think there must have been a deal of some type.
If WSOP really won’t facilitate deals, I don’t see how it’s possible to chop 10/6 with 1099s for those amounts with a stranger.

I remember there was debate on this but forget the hands. I don’t recall any were outright strange though. I vaguely remember a pair of eights jammed over a raise and a call or something and ran into AA
Tough to predict, card distribution matters too much.
I'm excited for the energy/dynamic the rail brings. Turns into more of a festival.
If they ICM chopped right now it'd look like this

Dammit Poker Go. You have one job.
I mean seriously
YouTube feed appears to be working.
The timing of PokerGo going down... too coincidental... Wow Lee first hand is busto to Waz's boat...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vqi3JkPp...
This will work for the first hour until hopefully Poker Go gets its **** together.
lol PokerGo
Lee losing the mask was bad luck
No way is Donnie Peters by himself the announcer choice for this
Couple theories on PokerGo.
Either there's too many people trying to watch, flooding their servers...
Or... Hackers holding it hostage for ransom.
