General TV Discussion and Thread for Shows Without A Thread Thread

OOTV doesnt like family comedies much huh? Raising Hope and The Middle are two of the best(possibly the best outside of NBC)comedies on tv yet no threads.

Just an observation.

My wife and I consider ourselves folks who appreciate quality TV. That having been said, there have been shows (Leftovers and Deadwood come to mind) where we didn't like them anywhere near as much as critics and 2P2. I raise this because we're nearly done with S1 of Reservation Dogs and we're like.......um, what is this? It's well acted but we feel like we're just watching a day in the life snapshots, without much of anything being interwoven. Without spoiling, does it stay like that through S2 and S3? We're thinking of cutting bait, but then again how hard is it to get through like 10 more hours of TV and risk missing out on something that we would think got better and is so widely acclaimed.

I liked the show and loved certain episodes. I’d stick with it because three of the best are in season 3. The show doesn’t change a lot from the way it is in season 1 but at the end you feel like you’ve said goodbye to a friend. I think it’s a bit overrated but there are some fantastic episodes mixed in. Deer Lady was probably my favorite.

along those lines, does what we do in the shadows improve after the pilot? kept hearing how good it is, and i know the pilot is often the worst ep in the series, but the whole thing was basically the same joke; hey we're weird, dorky vampires doing weird, dorky vampire things, yeah i get it. do they ever come up with a 2nd joke?

There are other things but it is a lot of that.

I loved rez dogs. as a native American, it probably means more to me than other people.

but if you're almost done with season 1, and still not enjoying it, you should quit. you won't be missing out on any vast improvements in later episodes. it stays fairly consistent.

ratingraph is a great resource for seeing how much shows improve or decline

Definitely gets better from S1E1 though the end of S2. Very hit or miss starting in S3 until present.

Just binged first four episodes of Baby Reindeer last night and got hooked. Very dark and twisted if that's your thing, and the acting by the female stalker is top tier.

I love What We Do In The Shadows. I know you can scoff at ratings and awards/nominations, but it does do pretty well...

Also has a bunch of great guest stars, if you like that kind of thing.

I think What We Do in the Shadows is really great stuff. I'd stick with it. Even when there was a season long arc that I didn't love, there were still plenty of superb episodes. And it finds humor in all sorts of manners, so there really is something for most everyone, or at least that's my view.

alright, thanks everyone 👍

that's fantastic to hear

also saw ben from lost is in it, very amped for that because i really like that actor

also really loved the

Spoiler
Show

cousin stuff, like when that was mentioned and then later showing the upset cousin lover etc i was like hell yeah they are diving deep into the logistics of this stuff and cousin on cousin action would definitely be a big problem for vault people so i loved that they included that and it gave me such high hopes

I met Ben from Lost, Michael Emerson, in Central Park and he was a super nice guy. We were on a pedicab tour and I spotted him walking his dog. Then the pedicab guy insisted on going and asking him to take a picture with us, despite my telling him not to. I'm not a star****er and hate to bother celebs, but he was great about it and chatted with us for a bit about his rescue dog.

i loved him in lost, was super amped to see he was in fallout

I never saw lost, but he's a great actor. good story! thanks for sharing

never noticed before, but he looks like that guy who played bilbo in the hobbit, and Watson in Sherlock

what have you seen him in?

Person of Interest

And fallout

He acted his head off in Fallout!

And was so full of energy!

glad I don't care about spoilers. but sucks for people who do

Through 1.8 episodes of Fallout, not sure yet what to think. I've always wanted to play the games and never have.

I liked everything but the main plot which is often how I feel about the games

Netflix kept recommending FUBAR to me. Thought it might be at least mildly entertaining with a stupid story but the majority of jokes are beyond stupid, too. Made it to episode 7 but feel like I've spent more time sending emails from my phone and looking at the Zwift screen than actually watching the show.

That’s pretty much how I watched it. No regrets at all. Will do the same if there’s a season 2 lol

Anyone watching Sugar with Colin Farrell on Apple TV? There is supposed to be

Spoiler
Show

a big twist thats insane/absurd halfway the show. Some reviewers seem to love it, and some seem to hate it.

So im very intrigued.

I thought the first episode of the 3 currently out was great. Excited for more.

I was so on board with the show after the first 2 episodes but it’s been trying my patience since that point. The episodes have been shorter and shorter, almost to the point of sitcom length. Not much happening and what does happen ain’t that interesting.

I don’t if your spoiler has happened yet, but…. It does seem possible at this rate lol
