General TV Discussion and Thread for Shows Without A Thread Thread

OOTV doesnt like family comedies much huh? Raising Hope and The Middle are two of the best(possibly the best outside of NBC)comedies on tv yet no threads.

Just an observation.

Shout out to g-bebe for doing what we all should be doing, putting the name of the show in every post. Drives me batshit having to backtrack multiple posts/quotes to figure out what show's being talked about. I know, I know, take it to the Pisses Me Off but Shouldn't thread.

I actually do agree and am pretty sure that I don’t do it. Apologies… I’ve had to scroll and figure that **** out countless times lol

Me too. It’s a great point.

Anyone bother with The Sympathizer? I started the first episode when it premiered but it involved more attention than I was willing to give it at the time. It’s Robert Downey Jr, so I’m absolutely going to watch it at some point but am curious if it’s actually any good.

also wondering same. this is only post search yielded

Looks interesting. RDJr playing 4 roles. The book has an insane amount of awards including the Pulitzer Prize.

Two very good police dramas have released their second seasons:
Blue Lights https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14466018/
The Responder https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11899030/

Yea, I liked season 1 of The Responder, I see season 2 won't be on Britbox in US until summertime.

At some point when I can get caught up on other things I was going to get a month of Britbox or another trial if I can find one and watch Season 1 of Blue Lights and Season 2 of "Time". Something else on there I needed to catch up on but can't remember now.

I guess I will just wait until The Responder this summer to do it.

Season 2 of Blue Lights won't be on Britbox US until next year.

Dark Matter (Apple)

I’d watch Jennifer Connelly in anything. That said, two eps in and this is good.

That's cool. I enjoyed the book, didn't know it was being adapted.

Sugar with Collin Farrell has been a trip

Will do Ripley after that.

Hacks Season 3 is out, enjoy that one.

Has anyone done Interview with the Vampire? Show score so so. But each episode is rated so high!

Do I bother with 3 Body Problem? Scores seem to be lowering as the season goes.

I thought 3 Body Problem was decent. Felt to me like a show that has a chance of going on to be really great, but also a very large chance of completely shitting the bed...

All the source material is out, so D&D shouldn't be able to work their magic on the ending à la GoT.

excite!

My problem with the 3 Body Problem isn't the story, it's the fact that season 1 ends with nothing being resolved and season 2 is 2 years away.

Regarding Hacks,

Did anyone think the shower scene felt out of place? I'm not arguing, who doesn't like lesbian boobies but idk but it seems like it was inserted just for the nudity. This in a show without previous nudity.

have not seen s3 yet

ya I'm def hooked thru the 1st 2 eps.

**** who wouldn't build a quantum universe hopping machine if it meant getting to hook up with Jennifer Connelly?

Completely.
I was shocked (and very pleasantly surprised). I guess is was a short cut to fleshing out the relationship, but meh. It was excellently done nude scene though.

Overall, I think this season has lived up to previous seasons.

I'll watch it, but I am pretty sure this is a bad idea.

8.5/10 for me on Fallout. Not perfect, but a damn good adaptation. The gore, the overall serious tone with absurd levity, the philosophy of the world, the setting, the costume, the factions... they nailed it.

I thought they left the first season off in a perfect place with so much room to grow. The last episode was probably my favorite of the season. I would assume its basically guaranteed a season 2 already.

It was very good I thought because it was set up right - Nolan to direct and contribute to the storylines on a grand scale as EP and not the nitty gritty writing and left that to the two showrunners and their writing team. And he loves to direct action sequences as we saw what Westworld became really totally from season 3 onwards so this show was perfect for his type of direction.

Also shows a way forward if Nolan wants a 5th season of Westworld to pitch it as I will be director and EP and I will leave the showrunning to Lisa (although hard as she is his wife) or I'll bring in a completely new showrunner.

Outer Range season 2 is out. I don't think I finished s1. Probably a nothing burger unless that's your jam.

Yesssss

I have to redo the last few episodes of S1 now. Loved that one. Hope they maintain the quality of S1.

Finished The 100 Season 2.

Its pretty good, not great. Alot better than season 1 though. But If this is the best season i can't see myself watching 5 more lol.
The main thing its doing, is making me want to rewatch one of the goat shows, Lost.

Also watched the first episode of Friday Night Lights, always heard good things about it. Certainly a good pilot, maybe a bit heavy on the drama already lol.

Episode 1 of Dark Matter was good.

Episodes 2 and 3 are better...

Episode 2 was kind of weak but the ending was incredible. Episode 3 is very strong.
