[Bodog/Bovada/Ignition] Unofficial Thread

This thread is to separate the Bovada-related comments and questions from the Official Bodog Support Thread, which is there only for questions or concerns about anything Bodog-branded.

There is no official Bovada Rep at 2+2 at this time, but perhaps if discussion is effected in a civil manner, one might arrive in due course?

Thank you.

Because my opinion is that licensing in those jurisdictions doesn’t carry much weight from an integrity standpoint. It’s more about people who believe holding that license means anything, which is probably why it’s still advertised.

I highly doubt they’re rigging the seating script or strategically placing players based on win/loss. That’s riggie **** we’ve been hearing since the beginning of time.

But if you really believe those things, then don’t play.

You are simply wrong that Curacao gaming license doesn't hold weight from an integrity standpoint. If it didn't it would be pretty damn easy for them to keep it.

It is statistically impossible for someone to have opened as many games in the blinds as I have. When there is a fish with a big stack in front of me and I'm loading big pots, they will instantaneously sit a short stack behind me, even when the other table Im sitting at has gone 15 minutes with an open seat.

Players are often immidiately table changed after making terrible plays in MTTs. There is regularly a massive amount of variance in vpip between tables in the same tournament. There are often several top 5-10 chip leaders at the same table when there are hundreds of people left. When I start tanking they either swap me to another table or put a big stack to my left, and usually someone who is sitting out somewhere else on the table. I don't play in their tournaments at all anymore.

If I really believe this I should continue telling people what I've seen, and the fact that you are so resistant to the points I'm making when you haven't seen all the hands I've played is super out of pocket. The implication that I should shut up if I genuinely believe this is utterly ridiculous.

Okay, let me put it this way. Whether they have that license or not doesn’t make me feel any better or worse about game integrity. I know the risks when playing on an unregulated platform.

I have no idea how many lifetime hands I have on this network, but it’s easily over a million; probably more like 1.5 to 2 million. So yeah, I’m pretty resistant to the things you’re claiming, based on my experiences.

If you really believe there are game integrity issues, then you’re free to voice your opinion. But so far, you’ve provided zero proof. Which is usually how this rodeo goes for players who claim the same riggie things as you are. You’re not the first person to question the seating scripts.

Agreed. Whether their licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, Curacao, or the Union of Comoros (which I first learned of its existence a few minutes ago), doesn't really change anything in my mind regarding the site's fairness in terms of RNG, etc. I have been playing on here for 16 years and pretty confident they are running fair games on their end.

I am way more concerned about them trying to keep a handle on the bots and colluders. But as you said, its a grey market platform so I accept that the game security will not be on the level of the regulated sites.

If I could play regulated online poker where I live, I would be extremely happy. I have been waiting 13+ years for that. Since that isn't possible, I keep playing here knowing full well that the games are full of cheaters. Where they are licensed, or if they even are licensed at all, doesn't really make any difference to me.

Can anyone else NOT login currently TUE 12/31 ?

lol @ insinuating skiier04 is an Bonition shill. but I would surmise lol'ing makes me one as well, eh?

I've been using the Bodog skin for a couple of days. Some feedback:

Bugs

- Sometimes tables won't pop to the front upon action, many hands get folded, this can be fixed by closing client and reopening.
- In tournaments and sit n go sometimes you may not automatically take a seat, especially when rematching.
- When logging in, if there are active hands in cash or a tournament, you don't get seated automatically. You need to track the lobbies down and take a seat.
- When transferring sessions, like from web browser to client, all of your live hands get timed out or folded. And again you don't get seated in tournaments.

Support

- First time deposit bonus was not applied upon the first deposit, upon contacting support, no response for 5 days.
- Cashing out triggers identity verification, they use an automatic third party ID verification service, shady but fairly standard.
- Automatic verification failed, popup says they will contact me in 24 to 48 hours for manual verification, no such thing.
- Chat through the web browser does not work, it asks for your info and opens up a chat bubble thing, but no one responds. Messages are not saved in the "messages" tab, it's inbound only and you get **** like promotions.
- Sending an email nets you a "we received your email and will respond in 24 hours", but no one actually responds.
- It's worth noting that I am in a spanish speaking country and that may cause the email queue to be slower or inactive.
- Deposit in crypto but then get verified is kinda ass, but I understand where it comes from. Both in terms of regulation, and in terms of postponing the verification to withdrawals to increase deposit rates.

The good

- This is almost attributable to incompetence than malice. The site is probably liquid, if elevated enough it would be resolved, the RNG is fair.
- The anonymous gimmick is unique, especially in fast fold it allows for a GTO like type of game.
- However the advantages are probably attributable to the network not the skin.
- The privacy policy of the ID verification service is not completely irrational, and it's US jurisdiction.

Conclusion

They are very unreachable, I am not able to withdraw around 400$.

Not quite the worst experience possible, but around what you would expect from a site based in some island jurisdiction that takes payment in crypto.

In the end, I don't feel like I was scammed 400$, just that they got conveniently lost in a bureocratic customer service limbo, and they may or may not give me my money in a couple of weeks or months if I make enough of a fuzz about it.

The fact that it is not technically fraud, that they have plausible deniability if this gets elevated to social media or courts, and the fact that they can still make the payout whenever they please. Makes me feel like I got played by the best, and it's no shame losing against the best. Isn't playing poker trying to win money from others? Doesn't GTO teach us that to exploit others we become exploitable ourselves?

So that's why they get a 5 Star rating from me and not a 1 Star Rating. It's so bad that it becomes good. We are nerds overanalyzing poker and hands and GTO, when the best move is not to play the game, and be the house. We could all take a page from their book.

As a counterplay, I think that if a rep contacts me through this channel, I should not give them my username. Spite is a legitimate strategy, and by forcing them to fix this through their own channels, without knowing exactly what is my username, they will need to fix not only my case, but all of the adjacent cases and underlying systems, which will cost them a lot more resources than 400$.

I think that's the GTO play here.

This is just standard variance right?

what are you guys using nowadays to track hands on bovada?

I have HEM3 and most of the time it doesn't detect tables with the integrated hand grabber its super annoying

The disconnect bug is getting pretty tragic for me. I'm using windows 10, am curious to know if it happens to anyone running windows 11 or macOS. I'm also running drivehud2.

Hi, I've been playing on Bodog for the last year. I'm based in Vancouver and I'm also experiencing a lot of disconnections over the last week.

It is happening once every 1 or 2 minutes and it is impossible to play.

Is this what you mean by the disconnect bug?

I'm not sure what to do. Can someone help please?

Interesting how the participation rate in this thread has exploded in the 12 hours since I posted that video. I'm sure it's just standard variance.

No one is watching your ****ing 2h+ video. Cliffs or piss off.

Bovada is clearly rigged.

Then don’t play.

If its disconnecting you, stealing your blind, then sitting you out, then yes, we are talking about the same bug.

by PhillipBeege12 k

I am virtually certain that Bovada runs highly unfair games, if they aren't entirely rigged. Would anyone here be willing to talk to me privately about my allegations?

Post a sample including your positional stats.

Then don’t play.

The biggest online poker room in America is rigged, has the entire poker community defending them despite having 0 licensing, and your suggestion is to just shut up about it?

As stated before, I don't trust that there aren't shills in here. But my offer still stands to send someone 65,000 hands and 196 MTTs once I'm back from vegas in a couple weeks.

Yes, because no one believes you or agrees with you.

Why don’t you do the work?
