New fast food discussion/review thread
OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

oh nice it's crazy that everyone doesn't request that.
ppl value their time so strangely, won't wait 7min to have a fresh made burger but will stand in line for ridiculously long amount of time to get an item worth $5 for free.
I resemble that remark.
Things taste so much better when they're free. Don't people wait in line for 30 minutes at Krispy Kreme for a free donut? Probably burning 2 bucks in gas?
Scored 10 Arby's Roast beef for $10. (Last day of the 5 for $5 deal)
I've got lunch for the week!
Reminds me of my Dad buying 50 $.10 cheeseburgers at McD's promo and reheating them in the micro ♥
50! Now that is a power move.
Grats on your BK experience RBK!
I've yet to try a whopper off the broiler; that will be remedied this summer.
Re: Doordash; Can you not order delivery thru the BK app? I just did a test order, I get charges $3 delivery fee plus $2.25 service fee. Also you can use deals in the app. $0 delivery fee for orders over $25. Interesting
nice ya I have the app but didn't realize the free delivery over $25 and in my very limited experience with BK the deals going thru DD were better than the app but will def make sure to check the app in the future.
I resemble that remark.

lol that was the first thing that came to mind when I made that post but also when I was in college I worked for KNBR radio and covered all the raider, GSW, n giants games and we would get there way early hang all the promo stuff around the stadium then open a tent stand outside and give away all kinds of really crappy cheap "prizes" and fans would wait in line for a solid hour even in the rain to spin the prize wheel and get their absolutely worthless prize.

I knew a guy whose grandfather would drive 20 minutes each way to a small gas station to save .03/gallon off the Chevron on the corner.
I had some leftover salsa and bean dip on Sunday so I improvised with Huevos Rancheros a la Mickey! 🔥🤡

3/10 free char burgers redeemed. They now have an option to tip; I did so. IMO they gave me more fries than usual as a result; I just did 10% so like 80 cents.
The onion rings were the best I've had at an ff place; a sit down restaurant/bar would probably charge $9+ for them. $4 I believe
Also loaded up on free pickled peppers!
Those rings look engagement worthy imo.
Today only, free Wendy's single with purchase in app!
tyty
Advantage taken, thanks Wendy KGB. I believe they're doing a different free item with purchase every day, not clear for how long.
I had some other decent offers too in the app, 2/$6, $1 loaded fries, free soft drink, etc.
Nice.
Has anyone tried the new Berry Frosty yet? I'm going to within a week I'd say definitely.
hey thanks!
just curious what does off the broiler mean? is it cooked any different or just code for make it fresh?
the only problem is I unfortunately relay on doordash and uber eats since my accident as I can no longer drive and most of the FF places won't accept any special requests for orders thru the app (so much for have it your way) but I'll def keep that in mind if I'm ever able to make that request.
and lol all the guys who are focused on getting good value would absolutely **** their brai
whopper is the best burger around imo, the combination of the bun, the flame broiled etc, its incredible
Carls JR has great burgers, maybe better, but more expensive.
Wendys is good for cheap stuff, but Whoppers are the best
havent tried off the grille lately, but seems like a good idea if you have the time.
If the Whopper is your main patty, Dairy Queen should be your mistress.
WTF?

fill it o' fish always has the half slice of tartar cheese
what else were you expecting?
That thing is barely a 1/4 slice.
I'd contact corporate and decline their first offer of compensation, stating how greatly disappointed you are that you may never enter another McDonald's ever again.
Complaint sent.
Wendy's deal today is a free breakfast baconator with purchase.
Grabbed Popeyes for late dinner last night on the way home from the bar.
Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich (with swiss, bacon and gold bbq sauce) ($7.29) - nothing wrong with any of it, but: a) while the gold BBQ sauce was tasty, I wouldn't say it's a big upgrade over the spicy sauce on the spicy sandwich, or even just mayo; and b) the swiss and bacon was fine, but mostly didn't notice their flavors; also c) I got a chicken breast that had obviously been sitting under the heat lamp for a good while, wasn't at all juicy. Due to A) and B) I wouldn't pay the $1.30 up-charge over a regular or spicy chicken sandwich next time, but glad to have tried it.
Six Signature Hot Wings (I think $6.99) - They're offering six flavors of wings, this was the hottest version (4 fires vs. the Ghost Pepper flavor of 3 fires, which I thought was odd). These tasted pretty good, nice crispy coating then the wing sauce had a little bit of a kick, enough to get my nose running a little. The sauce was also a little sweet - it actually reminded me of the Wendy's saucy nuggets ghost pepper sauce. Awful value compared to the $5.99 original chicken sandwich, but almost everything at Popeye's is awful value other than the sandwich so here we are.
Regular Mac and Cheese ($4.99) - This was a mistake. The flavor was OK, but the texture was way off - it was almost soupy. I'd take their red beans 'n rice, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, and RIP cajun rice all over this mac n cheese 100 times out of 100. It's weird that they charge a 50c upcharge on this vs. the other sides. This will be my last order of Popeyes mac n cheese.
I kind of did the math in my head as I was ordering, but still it was like a slap in the face when the drive thru lady told me "$21.52, please pull forward" - I figured there must have been some mistake. I am just glad I got to spend my teens and twenties back when fast food was full of screaming good values. I can generally afford to drop $20 on a meal without a huge concern now, but this meal wasn't in the same ballpark as worth $20+. It'll be a long while before I'm back.
Soupy is the new mac-n-cheese norm. The corporate whores have realized starting soupier makes for a longer life. I had soupy mac-n-cheese last night and concluded this immediately straight from my bum.
lol if you guys saw what I pay regularly for FF delivery you would hold an intervention.
tho lately it's been lil better with so many BOGO offers.
