New fast food discussion/review thread
OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

Looks like I'll be securing some Wingstop this weekend. Thanks for the assist!
lol you guys.
punks.
Conversely I'm on a serious Rick's heater, last two times I've gotten breakfast the hash browns were ELITE and the Egg McMuffin on point.
Also had a very enjoyable encounter with a Wendy's BEC biscuit last week. Would eat again.
funny how it always seems to be better when you go get it yourself and enjoy right after being prepared
maybe jj or some sort of salad place has success serving food cold, but what the hell else should you expect when ordering delivery

I would still get McMuffins but I havent had any breakfast opportunities lately.
I mean I am McMuffin. And I do love them.
I love the Breakfast Jack... but only if I can get the cook to scramble the eggs.
On Nov. 9, which is National Fried Chicken Sandwich Day, Jollibee will be offering a buy one get one free promotion on its chicken sandwiches through its loyalty program.
If you are lucky enough to have a Jollibee near you.
Isn't Jollibee notoriously terrible?
I need some fried chicken in my life.
Now thru Nov 10, spend $10 at Popeye's and get a free chicken sandwich. Only thru the app.
IDK, I've never been to one. There's only one in Az, and it's an hour+ away from me. Maybe next time I hit the Lone Butte poker room I might try it, since it's only 20-30 minutes further from there.
76 Jollibees in the US open or opening soon. About 1/2 are in California. Not a lot of market penetration elsewhere. 6 in NY, 5 in Hawaii, 4 in NV.
Jollibees is like retirement home quality food.
If you're used to Popeyes or KFC quality chicken, stay away.
Honestly I don't even think it's worth a visit if you're nearby. However, I just checked their website. I'm slightly curious as to how good their chicken sandwich is.
$12 for the meal with a dessert item. Ecch.
Can you still get chicken sandos at Popeyes for $5?

Had an evening work meeting last night, decided the company could buy me dinner to compensate. I uber-eated Shake Shack: one shack-burger (cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato and sauce, $~9.50), and one six piece chicken bites (chicken nuggets, ~$6.50).
The burger tasted pretty good, but man, it came across as small. I'd say about the middle point between the old Wendy's Jr Bacon Cheeseburger patty (not the pathetic one they've been serving since shrinkflation hit) and a quarter-pound single. I enjoyed it but I don't think even a double would be considered substantial.
The chicken nuggets were pretty gosh-darn delicious. Reminded me of Chickfila nugs from a texture standpoint, and even better flavor from the seasoning. Those are top-tier chicken nuggets. That said, they are small, and paying > $1 each is... something. Also, they would only let me pick one sauce to go with them, with no option to get extra sauces (either by paying or free), or to leave a comment/note asking for another sauce. I picked smash sauce, which turns out when it's not on a burger tastes indistinguishable from mayo. Not a very good nugget sauce.
There was a Save 40% on orders over $15 promo; delivery fee was $1.49, and taxes + other fees came to like $12. (It really seems like it should be borderline illegal to highlight everywhere "$1.49 delivery fee! $0.99 delivery fee! No delivery fee", which they had on 70% of their restaurant choices, but then have an extra $10 "other fee" that shows up only at checkout. I mean I know it's coming at this point, but FFS its scummy.) One thing that was very surprising is I looked for a solid two minutes, but I did not see an option to tip anywhere. Is this a recent development? Am I just mentally challenged? I know regular Uber makes it very, very, very hard to miss the tip option. Is there no tipping on UE?
All in it came to around $24.50 after saving $6.50 with the promo. Tasty, particularly the chicken, but I wish there was more of both. $18 for a small meal with no drink if I'm eating there seems like too much; OTOH, $6.50 for someone to park twice and drive it to me from 8 blocks away seems pretty fair. I'm usually too cheap to pay app fees, but if I can get the delivery for $6 or $7, some nights my 15 minutes of saved hassle might be worth it. (If I'm paying full freight at $13 of fees + tip, I'm a long way from being ready to swallow that though.)
Since my McDonald's is being renovated, I went to the next closest. This one has $3.50 FoF on Fridays which stacks with the BOGO receipt promo (Woot). Added a small drink and free fries.
I refuse to get Shake Shack. The Burgers are definitely too small.
Agreed. Is steak n shake even a thing anymore? The one in downtown seattle was closed four years ago. I don't recall it being memorable other than the skinny fries and the fact the location was about the worst you could ask for, in terms of needing a security guard due to being next to the cross roads of an infinite amount of bus stops and the attendant homeless/drug traffic that comes with

There's one in South Point in Vegas, right across from the poker room.
