you can still lose

the real edge to card counting is that dealer blackjack you lose your bet but player blackjack you get 3:2

you also can more confident in basic strategy because the upcard is even more likelier to have a face card underneath it than usual

you're also far likelier to hit a face card on your doubles

all in all, it's a good edge for the player, but nothing insanely good and you can still lose a lot

i've heard counting online is bad though because they have automated software which tracks the betting behavior and they'll cut you off really fast

I wish you could on online crackjack. if you play the live dealer one they cut-card more than half the 8 deck shoe, penetration is abysmal and with the rules too im pretty sure its not possible to get an edge and is why they have the game set like that.

this is all pretty much true. its the most beautiful thing in the world when you're at a true count of over +10 and you pretty much start winning every 3/5 hands. One thing you forgot to mention is that dependant on the count, you can deviate from basic strategy to do baller things like doubling your 10 vs. dealer's 10, or doubling 9 v 7, etc. never have I split 10's, though, but taking insurance at TC (true count) of +3 or more is brilliant too. I love the game, there should be no reason why I give any money to the pits otherwise, and I get really upset with my degenerate self. But anyways, might post my degen story soon, involves 2 trips to Vegas for a 10k or so profit, my 3rd trip early this past year I got backed off and pretty sure got put on a flyer.
