The "LOLCANADA" thread...again

So what's new?

I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet...i'd be shocked if they lost the election now.

Just shows just how incompetent Conservatives are.

That isn't going to magically transform the economy from 0.7 to 1.15.

.

Meant $1.15 CDN to buy a USD, by year 8. I can see how you read it the other way.

Ok, well .7 to .87 then is totally plausible, we've had long periods of time where that has been the rate or better. Heck, I suppose that's possible in 8 years regardless of the PM. But it doesn't really change the way your post was sort of imagining a future of phenomenal resource extraction that doesn't really add up. We already have a government that is supportive of oil, with record oil production, new big oil pipelines etc - the amount of slack just isn't really there.

lol at the using pronouns era.

Another imaginary nothing burger that will soon be thrown into the waste bin of dumbest things humans ever invented as a concept.

Although sometimes calling my wife a "birthing person" to her gets the eyeroll that I can gleefully have fun with.

When you engage in your gleeful employment discrimination, clearly people who ARE trans and non binary are going to be the ones most strongly affected by your discrimination. While a cis person might try to be a good ally and also fall victim to your discrimination, the people most affected are the gender minorities you are discriminating against. Someone who is scared in a "don't ask don't tell" type regime that they can't tell their employer what their pronouns are for fear of being fired.

I consider a person that uses their pro nouns on a resume a potential problem. As for my hiring practices I hire the most qualified though I do give special consideration to Indigenous trades . I also look for certain immigrant trades that are very skilled in certain areas . I currently have a member of the LGQBT+ as a trade working for me . I dont hire because of that I hire because they do good work I never asked about that persons pronouns as I refer to that person by that name . I also hire a tile guy that has Fuxl Trudeau in bold letters on the back of his truck I do not care .

DEI hiring is just plain stupid and Trudeau gave 50 % of cabinet posts to women he was an idiot . You appoint the most qualified and if that is 100% women great.

by lozen k

Were did I say discriminating against trans folks and non binary . I said people that list their pro nouns whatever they are

If you look back at Carney's record yes it was good for Canada but many said he did a bad job in his role in England. He also supports Trudeau's policies which will not help him

Christy Clark is now out as well

A lot of liberals went along with Trudeau because whomever didn't was shown the door. They were made to be sycophants.

I am pretty sure if Mark Carney's mind was laid bare for everyone to see he would identify much more closely with conservatives than Liberals. Right now the Liberal brand / policies are going to get flushed with Trudeau, and the next liberal leader will be able to have a lot more flexibility.

Mark Carney is the most qualified person to lead Canada out of everyone.

Freeland is the absolute worst candidate, next to Jaghmeet Singh.

You can't pretend to be hiring based on merit when you just told us you would actively discriminate against any trans or non-binary person who informed you of their pronouns. The person making hiring decision based on some status or other is YOU.

Your fake "Don't Ask Don't Tell" position on pronouns is silly - OF COURSE you use pronouns all the time, like everyone does, the only debate is whether some people are terrified of your employment discrimination that they would hide who they really are from you knowing that you would fire them if they use different pronouns than you expect to describe themselves.

Discriminating based on race and sex and sexual orientation and religion is wrong. Why would you then discriminate based on on the pronouns a person uses to describe their gender?

This is a really good example of how tragic it must be to be a young trans or non-binary person. One guy is actively discriminating against hiring you, another is trying to denigrate you as mentally unstable. It's just really sad.

The projection from these guys is hilarious. Like Carney is running for the liberals despite it seeming like political doom, if he was more of a conservative than he could have and probably would have won the conservative race 2 years ago. But he obviously didn't want to.

Stop blaming nonsense or I’m not surprise you are struggling if that is your understanding the world and how it works ….

print("Trudeau's Fault")
elif metric == good:

It won't be political doom for him.

He will just run the liberal party and rebuild it even though in the next 4-5 years they will have almost no power and be as impactful as the bloc quebecois were in the last 9 years.

It is also important to have minority party leaders with a backbone and economic intelligence, which Jaghmeet has none of.

I would probably vote liberal for Mark Carney if he was able to purge and rebuild the entire liberal party and cabinet positions, as well as distance himself from Trudeau policies. It probably isn't possible now since liberals are going to get flushed. But I think 4-5 years from now is a good possibility of me voting liberal.

People will eventually grow tired of conservatives because of potential austerity measures and lagging economy, and 4 years from now could be a great timeline for Carney to become PM.

I haven't been excited for any Canadian party leader in the longest time until Mark Carney entered.

Carney graduated from Harvard in 1988 with a bachelor's degree with high honours in economics,[6] before postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford at St Peter's College and Nuffield College, receiving master's and doctoral degrees in the same field in 1993 and 1995, respectively.[13][14]

This dude would probably be the most qualified leader of any country all around the world. It won't be because of his father's last name, or Trumpism. It would be based solely on his credentials which is nearly impeccable.

Well I hope there are lots and lots of people like Tien out there. Not the transphobic bigot part - that’s gross - but the gushing admiration for Carney. I presumed he has no shot. But maybe?

Very rarely do I see someone with flawless credentials + experience to lead a country. Normally they stay in the private sector or have central bank leadership positions and then get out of politics.

If you look all around the world at all the political leaders or wannabe leaders, the credentials are very lacking. They know how to win popularity contests but they just don't have a clue about the economics of a country, which is the most important thing.

For example, Freeland, Bachelors in Russian studies and a master's in Slavic studies and then a journalist in Ukraine? Like what the **** is this?

Even Pierre Polievre, bachelors in international relations? What the hell is that degree for? This degree is what you do when you aren't smart enough for the useful subjects.

Lol if Carney becomes Liberal leader I might out of principle vote Liberal in the next election to support this dude, hahahaha

Sorry Lozen!

Carney is indeed exceptional technically but what are his positions on "culture war" stuff? And why the hell is he a liberal

by lozen k

Sorry I should say Damn you Stephen Harper 😀

It doesn’t have anything to do at all with any pm…
It’s a worldwide phenomenon.
Again I know you have trouble to get that .
