Donald J. Trump (For everyone else)

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

I think the ban on homosexuals was pretty stupid and negative for the country especially after we learnt how important male homosexuality was for the prowess of the navy of the British empire.

I can't answer about trans people because forum rules force everyone to claim trans ness is never a mental issue so under those guidelines my take would be nonsensical.

trans ness isn't a mental issue at all according to forum rules and I cannot deny or contest that here so I won't.

So you might get a ban. Big deal. Don't be a coward. Are you scared or just ideologically compelled to obey authority?

ahh okay. Understand you now (well not the incoherent ramblings on fascism but that doesn't need to be responded to). I would leave the medical diagnoses to people that study these things please. It's good to know our limits and respect professionals who know more than us.

From today's Wall Street Journal:

Trump and the Art of the Poker Deal" By Matthew Hennessey
Donald Trump’s admirers flatter him by saying he plays three-dimensional chess while his opponents play checkers. That’s silly. Mr. Trump’s game is poker, and he’s good at it.
Mr. Trump tipped his hand when he visited the Journal in October, describing China’s President Xi Jinping as a “good" poker player.” Last Friday in the Oval Office, Mr. Trump told Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky: “You don’t have the cards.” Thucydides couldn’t have put it better, though maybe Kenny Rogers did: Time to fold ’em. The exchange put a new spin on the art of the “deal.”
MAGA-world is irrationally wedded to the chess meme. Chess is the game of kings, not Queens. I’d be surprised if Mr. Trump even knows how the pieces move. It’s complicated and takes sustained concentration. To succeed at chess you have to control your passions and act deliberately. When you’ve been bested, you resign gracefully and shake your opponent’s hand.
That’s never been Mr. Trump’s style. He’s temperamentally much more suited to poker, where trash talk and nicknames are part of the fun. You bully and bluff as you try to bankrupt other players and drive them from the game. Poker success requires an appetite for risk and an intuitive sense of probability. But you can also buy the pot with a garbage hand. Sound like anyone we know?
On Tuesday Mr. Trump wagered the Democrats wouldn’t applaud him for any reason. They sat on their hands as he pointed out the young lady brutalized by the boy playing girls volleyball. Since they didn’t clap for her, they couldn’t clap for the mothers of young women murdered by illegal aliens or even the kid with brain cancer or the newly minted West Point cadet—because selective applause would give away their ideological commitments. Mr. Trump won that hand. Suckers.
With Mr. Zelensky, Mr. Trump played a different game. He sat back and let Vice President JD Vance raise the stakes. Only when Mr. Zelensky started obviously chasing the draw did Mr. Trump throw down his aces.
Poker rewards a certain personality type—the improviser, the opportunist. While it pays to have a cool head, you can’t win without an eye for the kill. Mr. Trump doesn’t always know when to shut up, but he never misses a chance to put the knife in.
Politics and the English language would both be poorer without their poker idioms: stack the deck, go all in, keep an ace up your sleeve, play the hand you’re dealt. Mr. Trump’s poker face is as good as they come. He’s got alligator blood. When the chips are down he doesn’t give away much, doesn’t smile or laugh very often. His body language is consistent. All good and necessary qualities for a card sharp. Equally useful for a politician.
An obvious criticism is that Mr. Trump plays too loose. He’s cocky. Runs his mouth. He’s also got more games going at the same time than is advisable, especially given his other obligations. I can’t be the only one who wonders how he keeps all the meetings, phone calls, press conferences, petty feuds, tariff threats, Truth Social posts and Fox News personalities straight in his head.
Maybe this is simply an unavoidable complication of hosting a round-the-clock poker tournament at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. I hear it’s a hard game to get into, but if you sit down and want to play, you better have the cards.

I just respect private property as an absolute right because unlike you I like freedom and property rights are a huge portion of that.

so when I am a guest in other people property I follow their rules because it's... their property.

**** you. I did see your post in the other Trump thread about DJ Daniel. Agree with you, gotta keep the blacks in line. What did Biden say? "If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump then you ain’t black"

shame on them.

lol at "random attacks"

i wouldn't leave any determination on any topic ever to radical leftists in general and I don't think it's reasonable or proper to do so.

not only they deserve no respect at all, they are actively damaging to society and actively detrimental to everything any decent person could care about in life.

and they managed to get control of a growing number of "scientific" bodies. that doesn't make them right in the slightest, that simply should make us completly disregard those corrupted "scientific bodies".

Dunking on trans people and pushing a false narrative

and neither of these took place

edit: someone said that anyone mentions trans in women's sports just does it because they hate women and hates trans and i was refuting that notion

This is the kind of sht I deal with in my hometown now because of MAGA:

https://www.reddit.com/r/huntingtonbeach...

Someone at our city council meeting standing up 5x to give the Sieg Heil.

Wonder if this happens if blue maga didn't try to normalize Sieg Heil. Feel it's more of a thing to piss off the hair fire people, than actually supporting Nazism.

When everyone is Hitler and every hand movement is a Nazi salute and libs get so riled up about it, can see those leaning extreme getting the idea to go and do that.

Wow... well done. Blame obscene gross behavior on someone else, because they made you do it. Truly the party of personal responsibility.

Pointing out that the current administration is doing things the nazis did isn't calling everyone hitler and holding Musk to task for doing a blatant nazi salute isn't "every hand movement"

but im sure constructing straw men so that you can avoid internalizing that you are full bore supporting a foreign government that wants to absorb your home in a hostile takeover is comforting

And suddenly we love straw men again.

Proudhon wasn't absolutely right on this, but largely.

In this specific case though, the mods don't own the site. Did the owners post some policy saying you can't say trans people are mentally ill? Do the mods have a unified policy? The mods are empowered to delete your posts or ban you. That's their part. You post. That's your part. Post what you believe and don't be a coward.

I didn't do that at all. It is gross behavior. I simply wonder if this gross behavior is happening more to piss off the libs who amplify it.

It's kind of like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Libs over-react to some trivial ****. Next thing you know everyone is doing it. It's so predictable. You would think they would learn, but no.

They must like being triggered I guess.

Right its the scientists and medical professionals who are making a coordinated effort to damage humanity. And the correlation between education and progressive ideologies is only explainable by some sort of nefarious disease. This is not a mentally healthy line of thinking.

Lol at "every hand movement".

yeah it's their fault we're nazis! they're making us do it idiots!!!

thanks obama!

Lol at hostile takeover. You are ******ed

You can say that comment is ******ed, you can say I'd be ******ed to believe that, but I think you are way out of line directly calling me ******ed

I am harder on you than most posters because I expect more from you but I don't directly insult you for saying the most abjectly ******ed **** constantly

Canada is in for a rough time trying to play hard ball with the US. I hope things turn out fine for y'all, but its definitely not looking good.

Nah, it's just fun triggering libs. I wouldn't read too much into it.
