Donald J. Trump (For everyone else)
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
Heh, Trump already backpedaled and said, "We're doing very well with Russia, but they're bombing the hell out of Ukraine and frankly I'm finding it more difficult to deal with Ukraine. And they don't have the cards. They don't have the cards."
Lol. I'm guessing you want zero action now, eh?

I told you I have a substantial amount on ceasefire by end of year.
Your proposed 'action' is "large-scale sanctions" (whatever that means) resulting in Russia bending the knee (aka ceasefire) by end of month, with unspecified odds.
So ya, your proposal isn't too appealing. Good job.
Fyi
Ceasefire this year is 72c right now, before July is 51c.
Before April there is no market. What would you set it at? 23 days to go. Like 15c?

These odds haven't changed since my post. Given your newfound information you should max jam.

In response to someone saying Trump is taking Russia's side, you posted an article that Trump is considering levying large-scale sanctions against Russia in order to have them stop invading Ukraine.
I offered to wager that Trump won't levy large-scale sanctions against Russia by the end of the month. I never said there needs to be a ceasefire by the end of the month.
Senator Murphy lays out a timeline of the corruption of this administration just so far
The article says, "large-scale sanctions," so the bet is for large-scale sanctions and not some theater for the cucks by placing a tariff on some tiny import bullshit item.
It's pretty easy to resolve. The sanctions have to result in Russia bending at the knee.

You're too busy trolling that you don't take a second to think.
If sanctions are applied this month, then the winner of the bet is determined once and if the sanctions lead to a ceasefire.
In other words, the sanctions have to be "large-scale" enough that he will bend at the knee at some point in the future, not by the end of this month.

love it.
requires a ceasefire to win, at any point in future, provided "large-scale" sanctions are applied this month.
you should propose this to Kalshi. they are great at resolving markets by their vague discretion and fleecing users.

Obviously we can't bet on any sanction because most would be worthless - the quote was "large-scale" and that is obviously a threat to pressure Russia into backing down.
Obviously Russia would back down in exchange to have the sanctions lifted. That could be two months after the sanctions are levied. Shiit's not rocket science here.
There are many reasons a person might be unvaccinated, including medical reasons. Protecting this vulnerable community is one of the reasons it is so important for everyone else that can be vaccinated to be vaccinated. This could very easily be an example of that safety net failing.
Yeah, I thought of that, but it seems unlikely since this is a vaccine normally given to babies, so he would have had to have been diagnosed with the condition extremely early for that to be the reason.
I stayed in HB for work back in 2023 and I was driving around behind the hotel on Olive and there was a dude just hitting a meth pipe in the middle of the sidewalk
Driving up PCH to Seal Beach was a really dope drive though
in like 2004, I took that road up to Dockweiler and ate at like maybe a taco bell or some family owned eatery on the beach and i remember going there to surf for the first time with a couple other friends. The lady behind the counter talked about how they filmed the fight scene with Keanu Reeves in point break like 100 ft from the restaurant. I remember thinking how cool that was and going out in the surf with my board thinking i had found a new passion. I ended up sucking obv at trying to surf but it was one of those memories that I will always remember.

This story spans the whole beach of LA county. Seal Beach is just south of LA county. Dockweiler is by El Segundo, about half way. The fight in Point Break was in Malibu at the North end.
Surfing is hard... Way harder than skiing or snow boarding or water skiing... Other balancing kind of activities like that.
The white house site now referes to Trump as :
DEALMAKER-IN-CHIEF
Who write these?
Cos President isn't a good enough title for Trump?
oh don't get me wrong, I think Elon is a complete piece of garbage. I think litigating whether or not that is a sieg heil is a hugely losing argument that just gives an opportunity for people to paint you as hysterical and ignore what is obviously happening.
Thats why I told Grok to address the results and ignore intent because nobody can read Musks mind but you can see the results from his years of pushing misinformation and hate
Essentially this
I agree litigating the action is a complete waste of time and a distraction, but whether you think it’s a salute or not the target audiance got a/the message spoken loud and clear to them
If anyone wants to see a good example of the weaponization of government, you should read the EO related to the law firm Perkins Coie, which represented HRC in 2016. Here are the highlights:
Sec. 2. Security Clearance Review. (a) The Attorney General, the Director of National Intelligence, and all other relevant heads of executive departments and agencies (agencies) shall immediately take steps consistent with applicable law to suspend any active security clearances held by individuals at Perkins Coie, pending a review of whether such clearances are consistent with the national interest.
(b) The Office of Management and Budget shall identify all Government goods, property, material, and services, including Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities, provided for the benefit of Perkins Coie. The heads of all agencies providing such material or services shall, to the extent permitted by law, expeditiously cease such provision.
Sec. 3. Contracting. (a) To prevent the transfer of taxpayer dollars to Federal contractors whose earnings subsidize, among other things, racial discrimination, falsified documents designed to weaponize the Government against candidates for office, and anti-democratic election changes that invite fraud and distrust, Government contracting agencies shall, to the extent permissible by law, require Government contractors to disclose any business they do with Perkins Coie and whether that business is related to the subject of the Government contract.
(b) The heads of all agencies shall review all contracts with Perkins Coie or with entities that disclose doing business with Perkins Coie under subsection (a) of this section. To the extent permitted by law, the heads of agencies shall:
(i) take appropriate steps to terminate any contract, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation, for which Perkins Coie has been hired to perform any service;
(ii) otherwise align their agency funding decisions with the interests of the citizens of the United States; with the goals and priorities of my Administration as expressed in executive actions, especially Executive Order 14147 of January 20, 2025 (Ending the Weaponization of the Federal Government); and as heads of agencies deem appropriate. Within 30 days of the date of this order, all agencies shall submit to the Director of the Office of Management and Budget an assessment of contracts with Perkins Coie or with entities that do business with Perkins Coie effective as of the date of this order and any actions taken with respect to those contracts in accordance with this order.
What’s a win on this?
Cause a “ceasefire” that gets blown up within days is like def gonna happen.
This market will resolve to "Yes" if there is an official ceasefire agreement, defined as a publicly announced and mutually agreed halt in military engagement, between Russia and Ukraine by December 31, 2025, 11:59 PM ET.
If the agreement is officially reached before the resolution date, this market will resolve to "Yes," regardless of whether the ceasefire officially starts afterward.
Any form of informal agreement will not be considered an official ceasefire. Humanitarian pauses will not count toward the resolution of this market.
This market's resolution will be based on official announcements from both Russia and Ukraine; however, a wide consensus of credible media reporting stating an official ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine has been reached will suffice.

Tobin’s job loss sent him scurrying to fill prescriptions before he lost his health insurance and filling out dozens of applications to find whatever work he can, even if it’s at a fast-food restaurant. But some relatives reacting to his firing as “what has to happen to make the government great again” has been one of the worst parts of the entire ordeal.
“They can’t separate their ideology and their politics from supporting their own family and their own loved ones,” says Tobin.
Said it already but the messaging shift to “It’s going to suck for awhile before it gets better” is in full swing now.

I'll be impressed with any conservative or maga here and some of the other people who routinely defend them if their reaction isn't something like "the Trump admin has every right to do this".

I mean just imagine being one of those idiots who voted for Trumpy CUZ ECONOMY or CUZ INFLATION having him get in power and having literal billionaires tell you ‘ya I know what we promised, but it’s gonna get worse instead’ and feeling vindicated
