in rural areas it's far harder to have proper law enforcement. If you want to rape it's far easier to do so without consequences. If you want to enter a house and steal stuff, same thing.
So yes we would expect far higher crime rates in rural areas if the people were the same. Less de facto law enforcement, far fewer cameras that can get you caught, longer response time if you do armed robbery and so on.
Ofc more people live in urban areas, but we are talking crime per 100k people usually, so controlling by population size. Urban areas have more crime because the people living there are far more propense to crime than in rural areas these days.
Because everything else is set up to make being a criminal easier in rural areas, but they do less crime. If you hate someone and want him dead (because he stole money from you, ****ed your wife, or any other reason) it's far easier to kill him in a rural area throwing the body in some remote place , than to do so in an urban area. Far fewer potential witnesses and so on as well.

I have yes but when it comes to Trump it's really been insane. I hate republican and Democrat politicians but the Trump derangement has been something I've never seen before. Sure repubs complained about Obama but mostly just had the opinion that life goes on. Some stocked up on guns. I personally know a few democrats who are letting Trump send their life into a complete meltdo
I fielded multiple phone calls etc per week for nearly a decade straight thru obama--for several friends to have their weekly therapy session of obama/fox rage. I didn't even vote for the guy lol Obama cracked a lot of people and it was a lot more than some mild complaining. Remember when executive orders were tyranny? Now they're weekly loot crates of joy 😀

I used to think that Trump was the inflection point for us nosediving off a cliff but I've been convinced by twitter that it was actually Obama. I was still apolitical during the Obama era so I guess I didn't realize how deep the racism ran but Obama truly broke a sizable portion of the boomer population. Just 15 straight years of festering resentment and hate.

I would hit the go back to the obama years button so fast it wouldn't be funny. Same here I was pretty middle of the road on obama overall but it was better than the bush years. And definitely nowhere near the ongoing catastrophe it was being called. The whole trump era/last ~10yrs has been pretty lame overall imo.
