I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

“Happy” Meal? Sounds woke.

Joyful Junkfood didn't score as well with the focus groups.

She was the same girl I was hanging out with over the summer. She had been furloughed and I didn't think she would be welcomed back. When they did hire her back I stopped asking her to hang out because I am her boss. She didn't like this. Now she is working in a very awkward environment. She divulged to HR private conversations we had as consensual adults over the summer. She a

I don't doubt it. Taking an equity interest in the OnlyFans businesses of your "side projects" can be very lucrative, and buying testosterone supplements from dodgy online pharmacies isn't that expensive.

It's never truly a win. People have a misunderstanding that HR is there to help you. Even if you truly are being mistreated you should still stay away from HR. They are just there to protect the asset. Even the complainer is viewed negatively. They sided with me but the damage is done. I am on the radar now just like she is. The good news is that the GM vouched for me. My reco

Wow, I never realized how dull my life is. Here I am at 0 wins and 0 losses over an entire career. No side projects, no OnlyFans pimp money, and only the testosterone that my body produces naturally.

Sure, except the ones claiming those labels are using them to justify takes like “women can’t be president bc they get periods”

Wait, people think this? Is it because there's a fear that a woman president for a few days a month may do something irrational due to their period?

If that's the case, then I would venture to say our current president is always on his period and having a woman president would be better since it would only occur a few days a month instead of all the time.

i made a thread about how you can just tell people are stupid by how they look and that thread was nixed for "eugenics" and yet ed here is allowed to basically call for the cleansing of stupid whites

You're a shockingly bad liar, FYI.

Almost all crackpot theories have fallacious arguments for it that smart people won't fall for. Sometimes a smart person will believe in the theory. But if he is not delusional he will not claim that the arguments should sway good thinkers into thinking his theory is the favorite to be true. But the majority of those who believe in a crackpot theory do indeed think that those a

The prosecution of James Comey was cocked up in just about every way imaginable.

I agree; anybody saying stuff like that is a several fries short of a Happy Meal.

You have said stuff like that. I guess you only have a burger and cookies in your box.

Plato was one of the first dude bros to suggest state-arranged sex contracts and communal ownership of women and children within certain classes, so I’m gonna go with a no on Plato.

And same for his little misogynist student, Aristotle. Apparently men have had the same tired shitty ideas for millennia. Hope they had fun circle jerking each other in their fora.

If the Symposium is anything to go by, they may well have done.

?

Why wouldn't smart people think that? People are awful at evaluating arguments and arguments designed to persuade are commonly fallacious. So the 'good' ones should sway, and any smart person should expect them to.
If you just mean they shouldn't expect it to persuade smart argument evaluator then the 'good' fallacious arguments are designed to defeat/frustrate them not to persuade them. There are exceptions of course but those sorts of arguments about crackpot theories between smart people are rare.

I don't think he's lying; I think he's just confused.

Maybe it's a reading comprehension thing.

He went ballistic recently based on his misreading of someone's post.

And he apologized.

Arthur Conan Doyle supposedly believed in fairies.

He did, and his endorsement of the fake fairy photos taken by those two girls, given his enormous public standing, meant that the girls couldn't admit till after his death that the photos were in fact faked. He was also a great proponent of Spiritualism and was often taken in by the fake mediums who were fashionable at the time.

And he wasn't just the creator of Sherlock Holmes. His investigations into Edwardian miscarriages of justice were a main reason why the Court of Criminal Appeal was established. He was an intelligent, decent and thoughtful man, with a good Edinburgh medical education, but he did believe some ridiculous things.

The enhanced subsidies started in 2021 as part of the Covid Relief Act Yes the part that protected folks with existing conditions was a good thing though I find it funny that the point of the ACA was to make health Insurance Affordable than why call it the Affordable Care Act? I saw on Breaking Point Sagar talk about family of 3 $10,000 a year with a $14,000 deductible thats

$7,000/year premium, $10,000 deductible. basically no coverage beyond catastrophic care for a healthy, young, single male.

Why would I ever buy this product at this price?

Plato was one of the first dude bros to suggest state-arranged sex contracts and communal ownership of women and children within certain classes, so I’m gonna go with a no on Plato.

Maybe I am forgetting something, but I don't remember Plato discussing communal ownership of women in any of the dialogues. The idea of raising children communally is certainly discussed in The Republic. As with a lot of things related to Plato, I would say it is debatable whether he was actually advocating for the practice.

Plato's overall views on women are inconsistent, but it probably would be fair to say that his views were progressive for his time and of course regressive and patriarchal by modern standards. I am far less familiar with Aristotle.

I suspect that you agree with Britney Packnett Cunningham's statement that "the patriarchy is a smog we all breathe." In my view, that statement is both true and also a caution against ignoring historical context.

Also, if we are going to bin everything that has ever been written unless the author's views about women would hold up in a modern context, then we are going to end up ignoring most everything that was written before, say, 1960.

I think a stronger case can be made for ignoring most everything written after 1960.
