I've been wondering what things could be totally reversed/cancelled or just redirected in the hypothetical of a dems (whatever opposition is) victory at next elections, and the presidential.I imagine some are irreversible, some damage irremediable:-International relations and influence, probably gone for the foreseeable future (a generation or 2 would be my guess for the hopefu
On the international side, I think the parts of the world that were previously friendly will want to quickly get over Trump - they will be actively wanting things to get back to how they were. They will, however, be keeping a watchful eye on the American system that has allowed this cockwomble to trample all over it, to see if the USA can put its own house in order.
The domestic side is a key indicator to the rest of the world that steps are being taken, so if the dems don't work really hard to put in place ways to stop this all happening again, the ROTW may accept it needs to move on without the USA, because if Dems don't sort it, this will all happen again and it might be irreversible next time.
I personally don't think the dems will go hard enough on it, and will doom the US to some future cockwomble.
One key thing is end to presidential pardons. The other is some sort of strong constraint on EOs, but not sure what that will look like.
Frankly, USA needs some sort of equivalent to the Nuremberg trials, but I cannot see the Dems having the balls to do that.
The precedent was set by the previous administration to pardon kids and anyone you feel the next admin may come after as well as selling pardons.

I know you tend to think of Biden as a trailblazer, pushing the limits of the restraints of the US Constitution, but issuing blanket preemptive pardons happened well before Biden entered office - like, the first one happened in 1795.
Probably the most egregious, in terms of pardoning a high-level criminal, was Ford issuing a preemptive and unconditional pardon to Nixon. However, try to find an example of a president who instructed his cabinet to do whatever illegal actions he demands because he will be pardoning the entire cabinet upon his exit. I'll wait.

1. The federal government should not pay for daycare
2. The federal government should not pay for Medicare
3. The federal government should not pay for medicaid
4. The states should pay for all of 1-3
5. States should raise taxes to pay for 1-3
6. The federal government should only pay for military boondoggles that nobody but the president wants

Trump polling net negative among working class whites now in some polls. If Thry don’t support him, it’s hard to imagine who will. Plenty of people are doing great economically, but it’s all people who were doing great under Biden also.
