ICE decided not to be killing white people for no reason who were protesting. The first shooting was a woman who was a nurse and had no weapon on her and had done absolutely nothing to deserve being shot. The second shooting was a man who had a weapon but it hadn't been drawn and was being carried legally outdoors based on current laws.
There is no way to know that people are now protesting without weapons. If I was protesting, and owned a weapon, I would absolutely be carrying it, and if an ICE officer pulled a weapon on me for no reason whatsoever, I would defend myself with that weapon. My guess is that ICE realizes that this could happen and result in the deaths of their officers and has now trained their people to stop attempting to kill protestors for no reason.
