President Donald Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

First, the vast majority were not engaged in violence of any sort, and yes attacking Tesla dealerships should land you in GITMO indefinitely without trial.

Never let it be said that you aren't an entertaining troll 😆

"It's nonsense cuz I say so"....good argument.

Then going on to make **** up...because you say so 🙄

Most the country ABSOLUTELY LOVES what Elon's doing.

More than half of respondents, 53%, rated Musk negatively, while 35% said they have a positive view and 11% had no opinion, according to the March 6-9 poll of 1,206 U.S. adults (margin of error 3.3).

it is.

However, it is classic autocracy stuff. Enormous amount of power is becoming centralized to the executive, and it becomes increasingly dangerous to oppose Donald Trump. So, more and more people and organizations will self-censor, pay up and bow down.

I understand. And I 100% agree.

“In the deal, Mr. Trump said, the firm agreed to a series of commitments, including to represent clients no matter their political affiliation and contribute $40 million in legal services to causes Mr. Trump has championed, including “the President’s Task Force to Combat Antisemitism, and other mutually agreed projects.”

Amazing. Definitely not harassment or extortion by the least powerful executive branch of all time.

To our libertarian friends - is this forced labor a stunning violation of personal rights? Or meh.

Make me a call when we reach the threshold of POTUS claiming social media companies were killing people (because they didn't censor content that went against the government propaganda about COVID), threatening huge regulatory action, and achieving submission and a complete disposal to manipulate the political narrative for years.

Until then I have no reason to believe the current administration is as dangerous for this topic as the previous one.

Would it be even better to simply have a POTUS that never strongarms companies about anything? Surely.

Is it still quite obvious by a huge margin that democrats are infinitely worse at that than the trump admin and so a libertarian forced to choose between the 2 would be far better off with trump for this dynamic? Clearly yes (for now).

Interesting, though I'm guessing Florida would no longer carry out that kind of thing. I still don't consider attacks on abortion providers to be political violence. Those misguided people clearly think they are saving lives with their actions, not trying to influence government actions.

Thinking you saving lives doesn't make it non-political.

Presumably the una bomber thought if he could change society enough that would have saved lives as well in his model of the world

Luciom,

What is your answer to this question?

by Rococo k

Should a person who pardoned people who unlawfully entered the Capital on January 6 also be killed?

by Luciom k

any form of violence which aims to affect political change is terrorism, simple as that

If you had your way millions of French people would have starved to death.

by Rococo k

Luciom,

What is your answer to this question?

if apprehended later no, en flagrante where you cannot necessarily differentiate between those who were violent and those who just queued up after them obviously yes? the area should have been treated like a war zone from the moment the first act of violence against property or people happened, shooting to kill all rioters, ofc starting from the front.

Pretty sure it would have ended within 2 minutes with every rioter face down on the ground, and 20-30-50 (whatever it was needed to get them all on the ground) dead.

Basically there would have been no "peaceful entrants" obviously , no entrants at all, if that was how they had dealt with it, so the problem is just hypothetical in my model.

Just imagine people storming a military installation with armed guards on it , after shouting to cease and desist you start to shoot to kill. I hope that would be uncontroversial? which is why no one ever storms a military installation...

Except the capitol should be defended much more than the most crucial military installation in the country because of it's importance, especially given congresspeople where inside.

It's truly incredible for me they didn't start mowing down the violent rioters like IMMEDIATLY, i was like "what the hell is happening to the USA". Not because of the riot, because of the insane non-response by the armed people there.

No one should even think it is possible to storm a federal building in general without facing certain death, and the capitol in particular, and the capitol while congresspeople are sitting in deliberation even less.

If you had your way millions of French people would have starved to death.

Not sure to which of the maaaany french riots against the state you have referring here, but if i had my ways the french wouldn't riot anymore yes.

But french people decided collectively they like to riot more than they like the rule of law, it's a different model there for culturally implicit, but strongly held by the vast majority, values.

But in the USA it's not like that, the USA supposedly is a country that doesn't consider killing bad guys, including domestic bad guys, immoral, rather a moral imperative when they are perpetrating violence against others.

At least, that was the USA i knew and studied about. The USA that freed the french people from nazism. The USA of the Waco massacre.

Oh sorry i answered misreading, i thought you were asking what to do to those who entered without other forms of violence rococo.

The power of pardon is unrestricted and so always legitimate for all federal crimes. It's a clearly explicit constitutional power so no use of it should ever generate any state punishment unless the constitution is changed to remove or restrict that power.

Is the power of pardon probably something that should get changed? yes i guess. But until it does i don't see why you think i would be in favor of punishing people that legally use their constitutional powers.

Keep in mind that the response i suggested to rioters would be fully legal under current laws, i am not asking to change any law in this case for that to become legal, i am asking to apply the existing laws to the fullest.

Rules of engagement for law enforcement under direct threat of violence , and with direct threat of violence to others innocent civilians, absolutely and non ambiguely allow for the use of lethal violence.

These reports coming out about overseas visitors to the US being arbitrarily stopped, detained, humiliated etc etc.... I'm sure these arent directives given by Trump, so why are some immigration staff acting like this, do you think? I mean, taking peoples phones and checking for anti-Trump stuff, really?

Are some individuals just empowered to be more fascistic in their behaviour, and now living the dream to be douchebags?

I do expect travel warnings for anyone travelling to the USA to start happening soon.

Your poor bastards, living in a time when a fascist is consolidating power, I feel bad for you.

You live in a country where you can't even have a negative opinion about immigration without cops showing up at your house and where you get arrested for praying silently in public. Your cities have turned into disgusting polluted **** holes with women constantly getting harassed and assaulted. All brought to you by immigration.

There are reports coming it of overseas visitors being detained because they violated their visa rules. They are for once actually applying their laws as it's their moral and legal duty to do and always was, but they were derelictious in their duties systematically in the previous decades because of a bipartisan eversive approach at disapplicating the rule of law with regards to immigration (against the will of the people, i add).

Trump is attempting to restore the application of the rule of law in that topic in society and the left response is this? jfc you guys really hate basic civism.

We are "it's fascist to apply the law" phase of leftism

Lol you believe a lot of shitblizzard news from the sound of it. Literally nothing you said is true.

You seem very, very touchy about stuff, you ok, bruv?

People with fascistic leanings or yearnings are naturally drawn to jobs such as police, security guards and immigration officers… even train ticket inspectors in my experience. Those people take their cues from politicians and a change in the political climate.

It's 100% fact. Seen the footage and the reports of why they were arrested. Many, many instances of people being visited by cops for their opinions and not violent opinions. And multiple accounts of people arrested for praying SILENTLY in the vicinity of abortion clinics. Either across the street or in parks near the clinics.

Paul Joseph Watson is the only decent reporter your **** bag country has. No one cares about your opinions about our country.

Can we read these multiple accounts please? Specifically of people arrested for praying silently near abortion clinics.

Above all, the fascist loves order and loathes disorder. The fascist is eagerly willing to create any number of additional dead bodies in service of ORDER. There are rules. Break the rules, the state can and even SHOULD murder you (I guess we're not still pretending to be on the libertarian side of the libertarian/fascist divide?)

Donald Trump’s interim Social Security chief suggested Thursday night he will effectively turn off the agency that manages the essential safety net program for seniors and the disabled, if Elon Musk and his so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) can’t access the non-anonymized sensitive personal information and data of hundreds of millions of Americans, based on a judge’s order.
“My anti-fraud team would be DOGE affiliates. My IT staff would be DOGE affiliates,” said Lee Dudek, acting Social Security Administration (SSA) commissioner, arguing the order was too broad, according to Bloomberg News. “As it stands, I will follow it exactly and terminate access by all SSA employees to our IT systems,” he said, adding: “Really, I want to turn it off and let the courts figure out how they want to run a federal agency.”
Dudek’s threat to block SSA employees from using the agency’s IT systems — a move that could halt Social Security payments — came in response to a judge’s temporary restraining order in a case brought by the AFL-CIO labor union. The order bars Social Security Administration officials from allowing DOGE, including Musk, and the SSA’s DOGE team to access personally identifiable information. It also directs Musk and DOGE to delete from their possession all non-anonymized personal data, and bars them from having access to SSA computers or code.

dumbocrats in this forum: "republicans have no individual brain, no opinions, they all just follow their leader to hell if he asks them to"

Real world, 57% of republicans worried about tariffs

I believe only one person was killed by weapons on 1/6. One. That lady Ashley Babbitt. A few others died, but... only because they were too out of shape for rioting and had heart failure.

20-30-50 (whatever it was needed to get them all on the ground) dead.

19-49 more killings, no sweat off my brow as long as we RESTORE ORDER

People want order (which is a good proxy for safety). If you don't provide it within liberal democracies, they will accept fascism as the necessary evil to achieve that.

They want it a lot, it's a very basic need, immediatly after material sustainance (food and the like)
