President Donald Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
It's a silly animation of Trump, Vance, Musk, and a DOGE dog, acting as pall bearers, carrying out USAID in a coffin. It also says "MAGA 1, Libs 0".
It's like the Republicans are trying to prove that they can't take anything seriously. But I guess MAGA voters don't either. I think they would be happy to live in a post-apocalyptic dystopia if it meant they could "own the libs".
Here is a revealing question. How many people here think that their public behavior or online activity would put them at risk of deportation if they were in the U.S. on a visa?
I imagine anyone who thinks they would be at risk would be leaving voluntarily ASAP. I wish I could.
Fair enough, but that wasn't really my question. I probably wasn't clear. I was asking how many American citizens on the forum would be concerned about possible deportation if they were not American citizens but rather were in the United States on a visa.
To your point, no matter how I feel about Trump, it isn't really practical for me to leave the country. I have a job here. My kids are in school here. And perhaps most importantly, I do not have duel citizenship.

Please tell us , I’m very curious about what maga have that non maga doesn’t have ?

Well, they're never wrong, any outcome is a victory and every bad thing is the fault of someone else. It's all just so perfect.
You know those people who spend their vacations making sure their vacation looks perfect on social media. MAGA seems a lot like that.
Bloomberg: Anti-American Sentiment Rises in Europe as Trump Fuels Anger
Rising anti-American sentiment in Europe as President Donald Trump’s policies ruffle feathers is ushering in a shift in consumer behavior, not least in attitudes toward American goods.
Trump’s threats to impose punitive tariffs on Europe, seize territories and pull military support in the region — including his handling of the war in Ukraine — have irked European consumers, fueling campaigns to boycott US products.
There’s currently no country in Europe where more than half of the population has a positive attitude toward the US, according to a YouGov poll published March 4. Opinion soured the most in Denmark, where leaders and residents were riled by Trump’s plans to take control of Greenland.
Facebook groups urging the boycott of US goods have sprung up and amassed thousands of followers. One such Danish group, Boykot varer fra USA (Boycott products from USA) has drawn more than 92,000 members since it was created Feb. 3.
France "le boycott"

I understood your question. If I were a foreign citizen, I wouldn't really be concerned about deportation because I would be leaving the country ASAP anyway.
Are you from another country?

There are sectors where you can make more than 3x in the USA than elsewhere. And countries of origin which actually suck a lot.
Not sure why you think that if you were a Pakistani engineer making 250k in the USA you would leave ASAP back home to make 30k or whatever in a very illiberal country with terrible basic services and so on

Well I guess I just can't relate to the question then, because I would never move to another country to make more money. And if I were from a place with a worse government than the current US one, I don't think I would be complaining about it on a poker forum.

Depends on how far you think this will go I guess
Right now the only people (that we know of) being detained and subject to deportation are the heads of protests and people writing op-eds. I can confidently say this applies to nobody who posts in this forum
I definitely think this administration is depraved enough to extend beyond that and look for anyone protesting or speaking online to widen their anti-immigrant scope with what they will say is cause at which point I would say 100%
I fully expect over the next 4 years for this to evolve into the trump admin looking into literally anything and everything to find a reason to kick out literally legal residents unless they demonstrate total subservience to the godking
Anyway, to answer your question, literally every non-MAGA poster
Disney (ABC), COMCAST and Verizon are under FCC investigation for alleged violation of equal employment opportunity rules because of purported DEI abuses
very good and every major company which promoted positive discrimination explicitly should be investigated because positive discrimination in hiring is a serious violation of the law.
wonna abolish all rules about discrimination? more than fine with me.
but rules against discrimination exist and they don't allow you to preferentially hire members of any race or individuals of any gender for any reason

At risk, sure. More from attending protests than the forum though.
National protests on April 5th. You should find one near you and go and bring the whole family.

Are you the type that can’t hold down a job and always blames it on DEI?
When pressed if he told CEOs not to raise prices, as reported in the The Wall Street Journal, Trump added, “No, I never said that. I couldn’t care less if they raise prices, because people are going to start buying American-made cars.”
Trump continued, “I couldn’t care less. I hope they raise their prices, because if they do, people are gonna buy American-made cars. We have plenty.”
Asked if he was concerned about car prices going up, Trump said, “No, I couldn’t care less, because if the prices on foreign cars go up, they’re going to buy American cars.”
Good job shitheads, at least brown people will get what’s coming to them cuz woke DEI Israel or something

Fox has DEI policies too. I know you'll just say they should be investigated, but they aren't. This is an attack on the speech of political opposition.

they should be investigated for DEI discrimination in hiring as well ofc if they had DEI programs.
unfortunately your system is built upon the idea of political prosecution, with both actual prosecutors and entities that purportedly should regulate and investigate being politically appointed.
that has the benefit of accountability to voters and the negative of being used to the political advantage of the party in charge. that's expected to happen every time no matter who is in charge and fully abused within the terms of their legal power to benefit those who yield that power, as power always is no exception.
can complain about the system but not about the expected onnipresent political abuse of the system built politically on purpose.
alternative system creates an untouchable caste of people with power that don't answer to voters and become a fully undemocratic power within the system.
third alternative is to have as few rules as possible to reduce the scope of both sets of problems but you guys hate that possibility so pick your poison.
just to be clear my claim is that since Obama directed the IRS to target right-wing NGOs specifically, that makes it so that republicans are fully justified to always do the same with every lever they have to democrat aligned companies and institutions forever, and no one should expect anything else from happening nor condemn the events as "morally bad".

1st paragraph: and you know that for a fact?
2nd: forever ever and ever.
Man you have such skewed vision of the world and social interactions , this is pretty much what I'd expect a 3 year old kid say:
I will be mad at you forever!

1) yes that's what happen everytime in all societies. power gets used to fortify itself (ie, against competitors)
2) yep when someone shows you he isn't willing to follow "gentlemen" rules with you, you are never obliged to follow them with him in all future interactions with him.
Just go ahead and call him the n-word, Lucy. We all know you want to
