Maybe, depending on how this trade war escalates, we might finally get our recession with a 50%+ drawdown in the S&P 500. The cynic in me would definitely say thank you to Mr. Orange man, for creating the possibility of a sharp correction that would finally put an end (for some time at least) to this insane market, and bring saner valuations.
It seems to me things with the tariffs are going exactly as planned. This thing needed to be tore down. Obviously it's gonna be ugly for a while but in about a year we are all gonna be rolling in the dough.

I fail to see how the US will be able to sustain anything even remotely close to its current GDP per capita if it really succeeds in shifting its economy back to (lower productivity) manufacturing based. Or why would 50% of its population want their country to become poorer.

If this will happen and I doubt it, it will be more like a deal was struck(that benefits both) and Trump will pretend it's his victory. Right now it seems far more likely countries are going to steer away from the US. Not towards them.
