President Donald Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
Is this finally the time for EU to turn towards the east?
China is going to go hard on promoting trade with EU.
China appears to be a much more reliable trading partner than USA. I hope it turns out that way, tbh. Better that than the world having to continue to dance around the turmoil caused by the cockwomble's delusions of adequacy.
JFC the man has the attention-span of a kitten whose brain was oxygen starved at birth.
Am I imagining it, but is the correct that Trump has invoked emergency powers to alter tariffs for Canada, Mexico and China?
So is this 'rest of the world' tariff thing just happening on the back of Trump saying there's a 'national emergency'? Huh?

Same. In a just world the US can go **** itself and countries turn away from them.
It’s sad because it’s really just 1 man destroying it all but who can guarantee anyone it won’t happen again once orange man is gone?
America is liberated from it's 401k's.
I feel bad for people who didn't understand this was coming. I put in here a warning over 4 months ago. I sold ALL my tech stock 4 months ago (at peak), and most of my other industry stocks ~3 months ago. Literally emptied my portfolio except for a couple of smaller cap stocks. I also sold nearly all my crypto at over 102k. Moved it all into high yield interest accounts until things settle down.
Diehards that didn't see the signs, or wanted to stay on board t
I went to about 50% cash. Considering buying this dip some in case the unwinding negotiations are immediate....
There are about 65 minutes left before the markets close. That is if it doesn't fall another 2% to trigger a halt. That would be some way to end "Liberation Week" with the stock market not only halting for 15 minutes, but actually closing early for rest of day.
Is "Liberation Day" anything like "Judgement Day" from the terminator movies? About 10 trillion dollars has been killed.
Trump has been sent here from the future to delay the singularity by crashing the economy and AI stocks, terminators already tried to kill him twice unsuccessfully
Agree. Get over the fact you have to live with a titanic moron in charge of your country who has less brains than a syphilitic bull elephant's left testicle's infected hair follicle, who's about to send the entire world economy over a cliff, ya libtard snowflake.
‘He Doesn’t Give a F**k’: White House Official Tells Washington Post Trump Has Reached Peak ‘Not Giving a F**k’
President Donald Trump has reached the “peak of not giving a ****,” one White House official told The Washington Post for a lengthy report on what went on behind the scenes leading up to the president’s massive tariff announcement this week.
On Wednesday — or “Liberation Day,” as Trump calls it — the president announced massive tariffs on imports from a number of countries. He’s maintained that the massive shift in economic strategy will result in better trade deals and a boost in manufacturing for the United States.
The stock market has meanwhile taken major hits since Trump’s announcement as the tariffs have led to uncertainty among companies and investors.
“He’s at the peak of just not giving a **** anymore,” a White House official familiar with Trump’s thinking told The Post. “Bad news stories? Doesn’t give a ****. He’s going to do what he’s going to do. He’s going to do what he promised to do on the campaign trail.”

Reading what's going on, everyone's flocking to cash. Gold was doing well, but I dislike gold, too much potential swing for me.
I'm so glad I sold off everything 2 weeks ago, but annoyed I dipped back and put 5% back into shares - more to monitor the market than anything - but which I've now moved to sell. I'll lose a little, but it could be worse, I could be one of the many poor bastards who have held.
I'm only buying back in decent volumes if there's a massive crater. I'll sit on my cash and observe otherwise. This only really ends when Trump's gone, one way or the other imo.

I'm not a professional investor by any means, but I've done pretty good.
I'd wait a bit before considering buying dips in most industries. I don't know what you're considering, but there's going to be more fallout imho.
Trump will get some countries to bend the knee, and assert some conciliatory win to his base when they do. But it seems like most countries are planning to hold strong... so this is going to mega backfire if that's the case, and the market will crater even more.
Just my 2 1/2 cents.
Its time you guys were unburdened by what has been
I place anyone that didn't vote for Harris in the same category as directly voting for Trump. They share responsibility for this. Maybe not equally, close enough for me.
And when your petulant behavior gets met with equally petulant behavior?

You'll ride your horse of righteous indignation right into the fires of hell alongside that other guy.
good job not breathing air into the mouth breather today team. keep it up and he will lose interest and find any other place to go...
Kamala was a DEI crappy nominee with no skills other than the ones Mayor Willie Brown can attest too but even I have to say she would have been better than Trump .
‘You lost, get over it loser’ is such a truly weird take to reduce it to a MNF game and not a real world event with monumental consequences
And of course, that whole thing about trump refusing to this day to accept he lost (while not getting over it, loser):
1. Those primaries in 2016
2. The popular vote in 2016
3. The 2020 election
Voting for the lesser of two evils is perfectly cromulent, but the kind of "with us or against us" thinking behind a lot of the "not voting for Harris is the same as voting for Trump" attitude is exactly as fascist as Trump and his supporters are.
Has nothing to do with fascism. Has to do with not voting for Harris contributed to the downfall of the country that we are currently experiencing. You can call it fascism or you can call it Judy. It's just true. And anyone with sense was warning everyone for years before that election.

What scenario are you referring to specifically? Your question is too vague to answer. No fear, though, you answered it for me! Great job!

Bold claim. What is your evidence that DEI policies led to her nomination? What is your evidence that she had no skills?
Why are you not upset that Trump has no skills, no intelligence, and benefits from being a rich white male?
In case anyone was wondering, Trump is carefully monitoring the situation today from his golf course, I believe hole #8.
When you get offered a choice between a turd sandwich and a turd sandwich guess what? You end up with a turd sandwich.
It was plain bread versus a turd sandwich Brian. Nobody is forcing you to keep eating turds. Hell, we're not even trying to stop you! We just don't want to eat them with you.
It was like a really bad sandwich, like a tuna and peanut butter with licorice sandwich against a big fat steaming pile of literal s*** sandwich.
