The normal lull for the social media talking points has passed and we should start to see them materialize by now. Instead it would seem the most common tactic right now is to not mention it and focus on something else.
So, millions of MAGATs are left to their own individual opinions and arguments. That isn't exactly the forte of MAGA as a movement, which is largely based on a 24-hour cycle that amalgamates social media posts and memes (memes in its more original meaning, not just funny pictures and text) into single talking points.
I think people making the argument you are paraphrasing here shows how Trumpism is largely built on an idea of almost no personal agency or accountability. As long as you're aboard, everything is good.
As I have said many times, I don't think people supporting these movements are necessarily stupid, both clever and average people can end up supporting nonsense. I have done that myself plenty of times. However, I think Trumpism does hinge on willful ignorance, and I think this willful ignorance becomes political habit.
Now, I'm sure the talking points will come eventually. Until then, it is certainly interesting to see the movement undressed.

Depends on who you ask. I see some say it is a deragotary term used for its similarity to "maggot". Which might be true, and if so it is probably a bad term. As a non-native English speaker, that meaning has not been intuitive to me.
I have used it because it is an easy way to pluralize people who are MAGA-ideologues. I think the term "MAGA-supporter" is too forgiving, as it creates the impression of someone on the outside cheering them on, and MAGA-member is clunky because it is not really an organized club... there is also the double m, which is never a good thing.
I also like to differentiate between Trumpism, the idolization of Trump, and MAGA, the full integration into the media and social media eco-system that stands behind him.
I'll switch to MAGAs from here on in. I think being in that collective is bad enough, there is no need for a derogatory term.

The alternative would be continuing being a broken and wounded country. Sometimes there needs to be a big shake up. Trump has talked about this for 50 years.

2) Being drunk is not the same as being an alcoholic.
