The "LOLCANADA" thread...again

The "LOLCANADA" thread...again

So what's new?

I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet...i'd be shocked if they lost the election now.

Just shows just how incompetent Conservatives are.

Trumps staff was already saying in the afternoon that they will try and find a middle ground, he was already trying to back out of it.

This morning Trudeau reportedly says he has no interest in a middle ground and wants all tariffs removed.

I sure am glad our minority leader who resigned 3 months ago is standing firm and thinks he can win a trade against USA.

They are big and we are small but maybe Trump is coming to realize that the things that will cost the US more are things they "really" need from Canada, and the things that Canada "really" needs from the US can be sourced elsewhere. Plus, Canada's tariffs are more targeted.

Targeted they are 25% across the board and 10% on Energy . That sounds like it targets everything 😀

I laugh at a lot of people who comment under PP tweets that are like "we need to work with Trump and listen to him"

lol.

I agree with Arctic. You need to be FIRM with a bully. His presidency is starting weak. We have to push the sore spots.

Careful.
Shifty will come with his awesome wisdom and say it’s a loser strategy to fight bullies lol.

School children use the term bully. Adults don't call each other bullies... .. . ! !!! !!

It's is awfully strange that every politician in Canada seems to be running against Trump and not each other.

Cultist can’t possible see their leader being faulty in any kind of shape or form , yes trump isn’t a bully , isn’t a sex offender , inst a tax fraudster , isn’t a guy that try to overturn election , etc.

You sure u only pump cigarettes ?
And the funny thing, it doesn’t deny what I said lol.

Ps:

Bullying is when people repeatedly and intentionally use words or actions against someone or a group of people to cause distress and risk to their wellbeing. These actions are usually done by people who have more influence or power over someone else, or who want to make someone else feel less powerful or helpless.

Yes I know , because you just have a small grasp of what a word means, you believe u know a lot.
Maybe those cigarettes kills lot more brain cells then you think it does…

It was already a paltry 1%. Then it was reduced 97% to 13 grams. Not tonnes. Not kilograms. Grams. If that isn't "good enough" to not launch economic warfare I don't know what is.

Unless.

Unless.

Wait with me on this one.

Unless.

Unless.

It was never about ****ing fentanyl.

At least you stopped using the word seized.

Being the great mind reader you are, what's it about? And don't say a trump is just a "bully".

The context that this was "seized" by authorities is so completely obvious I have no idea at all why you are still obsessing over it like it is some gotcha.

Well trump has listed many, many very different gripes with Canada, but ya I think him being a "bully" offers far more explanatory power than some genuine concern about 13 grams of fentanyl.

Flight Centre reports a year-over-year 40 per cent decline in February bookings to U.S. destinations and says 20 per cent of Canadian travellers who did make U.S. bookings between November and February have since cancelled their trip.

“It’s definitely emotional, there’s a lot of sentiment towards feeling that trust has been broken now, and they just really want to travel anywhere but the U.S.,” Durakovic said.

BUY CANADIAN.

We're flying over the US to get to Mexico for spring break, good times.

Brilliant insight, I value your opinion. I'm sure this is going to end well for Canada if that's the mindset you think our leaders should have going into negotiations.

So cringe and embarrassing. Pure theatrics and maybe our Country has a drinking problem if this is the first thing politicians can think of to "fight back".

Semantics. Of course there are adult bullies, regardless of whether we use that name or not.

People should be able to point out true things. If pointing out was only 13 grams is so horrible, you're probably right that this isn't someone who has the basic intelligence or maturity to be labelled anything but a childhood bully.

You should be Trump's press secretary. It was 13 grams last month, but let's take the entire YEAR...fits in a suitcase kind of amount. To even ask this question is apparently disrespectful.

I get baffled by this one as well. I get not buying anymore but you paid for it

Yeah I think it factors into many vacationers plans as well as the horrible $ Myself I usually buy a favorite US wine but not anymore I love that my local Save On labels everything CDN that is

I buy Acana dog food which is owned by an American Company but is made in Alberta so that one gets a pass .

Have a great vacation and when you land take a vacation from here as well I mean that in a good way

You guys understand the distributors and local businesses are assuredly all Canadian. So your boycotts will surely be affecting them much more than Trump or Musk.

Economic boycotts are generally zero sum loser behavior. Which is why it is mostly something only low class (in behavior, not necessarily SES) people do, such as antisemites and bud light drinkers.

Actually in a few provinces the distributor is the government . Trust me the US manufacturers will feel the effect

Well that escalated quickly. But yes, nobody thinks the tariffs are a good idea or that boycotts are economically good. The reason for countertariffs and civilian boycotts etc is to provide as much economic pain to the other side as possible to (hopefully) get the tariffs removed as soon as possible. But absolutely they hurt both sides.

Alcohol is prominent here just because that is one of the few aspects of the economy that is under direct control by several of the provinces, and it has great symbolism.

MAGA did a bud light boycott here a couple years ago for an online ad they did with a trans influencer. It was ******ed. I was referring to that. And yes I am putting you and Lozen in that category of person for your rhetoric.

Didn’t that worked great ?
Bud light did back out right ?
Costumers did win their point ?

Getting mad that a trans person advertised for a company on their personal Instagram page and boycotting beer for that is ridiculous. Getting mad at the US declaring economic warfare against our entire country and joining together to limit US products in the hope of ending the war is totally reasonable. Like sure there is “ban beer” in both, but the reasons are so outrageously different trying to find a similarity there is just inept.

lol Kelhus

I mean this is a blatantly dumb take. People generally should be doing more voting with their wallet and consumption decisions. It's one of the few forms of expression that actually has impacts. Being a discerning consumer based on your values is the antithesis of low class behaviour lol.
