In other news
In the current news climate we see that some figures and events tend to dominate the front-pages heavily. Still, there are important, interesting or just plain weird things happening out there and a group of people can find these better than one.
I thought I would test with a thread for linking general news articles about "other news" and discussion. Perhaps it goes into the abyss that is page 2 and beyond, but it is worth a try.
Some guidelines:
- Try to find the "clean link", so that links to the news site directly and not a social media site. Avoid "amp-links" (google).
- Write some cliff notes on what it is about, especially if it is a video.
- It's not an excuse to make outlandish claims via proxy or link extremist content.
- If it's an editorial or opinion piece, it is polite to mark it as such.
- Note the language if it is not in English.
- There is no demand that such things be posted here, if you think a piece merits its own thread, then make one.
Forget about that. The more important talking point here isn't why the person sharing the video called him banana man, it's the fact that Obama wasn't legally allowed to be president. He wasn't born in HI. The American people got dooped, so don't blame/troll the messenger (just like PB).
LOL all the MAGA'Ts are here hiding 'in other news'?
no walls of text in the Leon or Orange God threads??
running out of justifications? Is this your DEI safe space??? Lesbians!!!!

No, no. The most important thing is the banana thing. Can you explain it to us?
That is how the US government traditionally works, but I understand why you'd prefer a more dictatorial system.
Ya it's a good system.
If "Congress approved the funds" is an acceptable defense to all blueanon spend, reasons that "Congress approved the funds" is also an acceptable defense to bigger's whataboutism
the constitution is just whataboutism!
Just curious. What were those "congress approved funds" approved for?
GENOCIDE!!!!!

I'm not online enough to know what "blueanon" is. The president generally can't override Congressionally-appointed funding. Sorry to blow your mind but that is how American government historically works.
I don't really recall how the liberals here reacted to things where Dumbocrats may have exceeded their authority, but the Republicans/Trumpers/"Libertarians" are putting on a major display of a lack of principles here.

Wait a minute, that's not what they are saying in that video at all.
They are not saying obama isn't american nor wasn't born in america.

There was one male and one female in the cockpit:
Officials say the captain was hired by Mesaba Airlines in October 2007, which merged with Pinnacle Airlines in 2012 to form Endeavor Air, a subsidiary of Delta that operated the flight to Toronto. Additionally, he has served as an active duty captain and in pilot training and flight safety capacities.
CBS News learned the first officer graduated from a university with an accredited and well-respected aviation program, and so was able to start working with fewer than 1,500 hours under a Restricted Air Transport Pilot certificate. She crossed the 1,500-hour mark and earned her full ATP certificate in January 2023, which is the highest-level pilot certification in the U.S., before completing training last April, and has been flying for Endeavor since then.
I've known a lot of woman pilot as well as controllers, they're just as competent as any one else (some are even better than some men imho).
