In other news
In the current news climate we see that some figures and events tend to dominate the front-pages heavily. Still, there are important, interesting or just plain weird things happening out there and a group of people can find these better than one.
I thought I would test with a thread for linking general news articles about "other news" and discussion. Perhaps it goes into the abyss that is page 2 and beyond, but it is worth a try.
Some guidelines:
- Try to find the "clean link", so that links to the news site directly and not a social media site. Avoid "amp-links" (google).
- Write some cliff notes on what it is about, especially if it is a video.
- It's not an excuse to make outlandish claims via proxy or link extremist content.
- If it's an editorial or opinion piece, it is polite to mark it as such.
- Note the language if it is not in English.
- There is no demand that such things be posted here, if you think a piece merits its own thread, then make one.
You don't have nearly enough information to say "he lied" without knowing who the controller was.
That's a very dumb thing to do without knowing what the facts are, because once they come out you might end up looking like a fool.
What do you think could come out that might make me look like a fool? That the air traffic control was black or an amputee?
It seems like plane **** ups have been in the news an awful lot lately. Is it a function of randomness, or something that can be fixed?
Well that and MAGA destroying an innocent person's life in a fit of self-induced frenzy based on their own fantasy realm.
For what it is worth, the problem is not that Brian James does not know this, like his post implicitly claims here:
Rather, he is merely doing good old "I will focus on a a simple summary that misconstrues the story about Trump's lies, MAGA's willingness to embellish them and any victims thereof". A tried and true tested tactic that is behind 80% of the Trump's success, becau

The story as reported was accurate but because I don't agree with what it was reporting, it must be false. Or something.
Because you're automatically accusing Trump of lying for saying DEI played a role in the crash when you don't even know who the controller involved was.
Nobody is getting hired as an ATC to fill out demographics. Not only do you have to clear a security clearance, there are classes at an academy and you also have to pass a stringent test.
The test alone is the distinction between qualified and unqualified, not the color of ones skin.
This would be one of those obvious points for you to have a moment of introspection but my guess is you will reject all forms of lessons learned and continue saying objectively wrong things .

No, this is also a summary of your imagination. That is, thankfully, something I am not responsible for.
Given that we know you can't even be bothered to consider that blaming a person who wasn't aboard neither the plane nor helicopter is wrong, I think it is safe to say that your expertise in aircraft-related incidents leaves a lot to be desired.

I understand how the training works more than you do. I'm talking about the prior "woke" administrations push for the FAA to hire DEI controllers.

There's also a lawsuit filed against the FAA by 1,000 white would-be controllers who are claiming they weren't hired because they were "too white", even though they were more qualified.
Within months of graduating, they were informed by the FAA they would need to pass a new “biographical assessment” which, he claimed, awarded extra points to people with “no aviation experience.”
“The FAA basically decided the students were too white and the schools too elite, so in 2013 knocked them off the preferred hiring list they had trained and worked hard to get onto — all because of their race,” Pearson claimed.
According to the attorney, 95 percent of the previously qualified candidates he represents then failed the biographical assessment questionnaire — essentially a personality test — and were “screened out.”

Do you have reading comprehension difficulties or are you just stupid?
ATCs weren't on the plane. It's quite possible that one of them could be have been at fault and caused the plane crash.

You don't know how the training works more than me because I actually worked for the FAA in OKC where the ATC academy is located.
That lawsuit you linked is just the attorney making claims which would have zero credibility if Trump wasn't spreading lies. But again, that is the issue. That Trump will lie and people like you will believe him even when with presented overwhelming evidence to the contrary

This is the linked story in the post you originally responded to:
It is about a pilot who wasn't even near the accident getting blamed by MAGA pundits for the crash and their claims going viral. This witch-hunt was of course started because of MAGA's desperate need to validate things Trump say.
The irony of accusing others of being stupid and having poor reading comprehension when you launch in the multi-post diatribe without even bothering to read what the discussion is about...well, it is illustrative.
Trump will lie and people like you will believe him even when with presented overwhelming evidence to the contrary
You never presented any "overwhelming evidence to the contrary".
I presented evidence of DEI in the FAA (ATC specifically).
You presented nothing except for saying "Trump lied".

"Air traffic controller shortage of 3,800 due to DEI practices cutting ‘too white, too elite’ candidates"

Your evidence is an ambulance chaser making ridiculous claims like:
“The FAA basically decided the students were too white and the schools too elite, so in 2013 knocked them off the preferred hiring list they had trained and worked hard to get onto — all because of their race,”
I could sue you tomorrow for "indoctrinating the next generation of hitler youth" and make a bunch of wild claims about your posting here too
But objectively, if ATC goes through the academy and passes the test, they are qualified. That is an objective truth that you can't argue against, yet you are trying to argue against it.
oh ok, so not only did Trump lie, but so did the lawyer and all his clients.
Got it!
Let me make a note of that so I'll know all of this next time.

Yeah, I am calling them both liars, but its fine if you want to say they are making unsubstantiated claims that you hope will be substantiated later. I can't argue against that.
You seem completely unwilling to call a black person who made it through the ATC academy and passed the test "qualified" so I have to keep pushing back on the only objective truth here is that all ATCs are distinctly qualified to be ATC and any mention of DEI is horseshit

At least you agree that your opinion isn't based on any facts.

I never said or eluded to any of this.
There are plenty of skilled and capable black controllers as well as there are women, in ATC and in life. I never said blacks are less capable. I said the FAA was forced by the prior administration to be more diverse by hiring non-whites, which I backed up with proof (unlike calling someone a liar only because I don't like them).

How does hiring non whites cause crashes?
Lol why do you insist on saying things that I never said?
I did say if you sample 100 controllers (red, black, white, green, chinese, etc.), about 89 of them would of prevented the crash. I never said it was due to DEI.
President Trump seems to think otherwise and he has all the information, including exactly who the local controller was, so until that information is released (if ever), no one can confidently say if the crash was due to DEI or not.
It was pretty clear the day of and after the incident that Trump was speaking specifically about the FAA for demanding they hire more DEI air traffic controllers. He wasn't talking about the pilots. Someone must of told him the accident, even though the blackhawk was at fault, could have easily been avoided if the controller assigned to separate the helicopter from the airplane did a better job and we don't know who it was, maybe someone claimed "that was the guy no one wanted to hire because th

Trump said it was due to DEI and you are in this thread carrying his water, so explain how hiring non whites can lead to airplane crashes?
Thats the simple straight forward question in which this all culminates. Explain how hiring non white licensed ATC (DEI) causes crashes?
If you can explain this without referring to skin color then you might be greatest genius of our times
