Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD
Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...
These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.
To reiterate some of the points:
1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.
2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.
3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.
4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.
5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.
If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.
Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
By and large, their parents in the South were part of a group of Israelis that believed in helping Gazans. Many were the biggest peaceniks in the entire country. They employed Gazans, went on missions to help in Gaza, and did everything they could to advance a 2 state world. Nova festival was a festival literally for peace for example.
So it's possible that once in a while, you educate yourself before typing. You never know how you might avoid embarrassing yourself that way.
The anti Israel folks are having a bad day.
StoppedRainingMen -- why do you hate Palestinians?
Wouldn't know, don't speak it, spoiler alert white guy super friend, there are other languages in the Middle East
Fascinating. If only I had ever said otherwise, Uncle Tom, you might have had some kind of point! Great post otherwise, though.
What have you done to help gazan lives besides be combative on a poker forum
Same question to your useful idiot
nothing
What exactly do you expect some random professional poker player in America to be able to do for people in Gaza? What do YOU do other than help Massa Bibi murder and plunder? Some real "and yet you participate in society! Curious!" energy there.
To be fair and to be clear, my stance is completely irrelevant which is why I don’t engage in the content of this thread. I’m just exasperated the obnoxious crocodile tears of shitbros (edit: technically, shitbro. But I guess to come at one is to come at them all)
Edit2: see above

But Karl at least you admit they're dead by the hand of Hamas. That's a step up from Victor.
Nevertheless, it
"Biggest peaceniks in all of Israel", you say. That's one hell of a low bar! Maybe these lovely liberal Zionists shouldn't have had a music festival hundreds of feet from a concentration camp!
Anyway, I know more about you about... well, just about everything, with the possible exception of how to spew out low-to-mid-tier hasbara posts, so shut the **** up with regards to "embarrassing myself".

vic sent money to hezbollah and hamas. no word on whether he has requested a chargeback on the hezbollah transaction, but still the thought is there
what have YOU done to support the murder of israeli civilians? probably nothing
A ways upstream is a link to an article about an Israeli chief of surgery speaking out about the detention site he was assigned to. He said it was "routine" to amputate the hands of detainees because they'd been held so long in tight cuffs.
You are in a better position than I to know the outcome of this ghastly tale.
Any prosecutions?
Or is this a case of Israeli generosity in keeping detainees from dying of gangrene?
Again you are late to the game. If the perp chose not to be a terrorist he would still have his hands.

I'm exasperated at reading someone of Middle Eastern heritage spitting in the face of an oppressed people from that area, but hey, I guess we're living in exasperating times.

Have you ever read Golan's story from that day? Of course not, you don't read.
This is what people in Kibbutz Be'eri believed. This is from his brutal account of that day. But it shows you, politically and ethically, who got slaughtered

People from Gaza. They were our friend. We donated money to them. The mother of a friend of mine was kidnapped. She used to go once a week to one of the border crossing with Gaza Strip and pick up with her car children and take them to get dialysis in Israeli hospitals. And now she's in Gaza. We are liberal person. We don't believe that all of the people in Gaza are evil. We don't believe. We didn't believe.
You just type random words man. But there's no information in them. Vivian Silver was THE prime example of these peaceniks. And we're talking about human gems by ANY standard, not just Israeli ones. People that tower over your contributions to the world.
it was covered in great length and still is being discussed:
So keep smashing away on your keyboard about places you know nothing about. But I'll keep making sure your mistakes are pointed out for the critical thinkers still reading this thread now and again.
Thanks for your link to the absolute rag called the New York Times. Those freaks have never seen a war they don't start frothing at the mouth over. Anyway, I don't care one iota about the personal details of the people at the festival. The country which they call home murders Palestinians with a gleeful passion. Did you expect Hamas, in return, as they are making their plans of armed resistance, to take the time out and hire personal investigators to become intimately familiar with the personalities of people who may or may not attend the festival? GTFO.
I bet you're one of those "Chickens for KFC" type geniuses.
Huh. Have you told that to your posts?

You continue not to read. Which his becoming a theme with you.
Nobody is talking about the festival (which as "targets" go is lol). We're talking about Be'eri. And YES, Hamas knew exactly who was in Be'eri. Why? Because their "workers" on day leave mapped it for years. brought back intelligence for YEARS.
They simply didn't care who died.
The end.
Read more Karl, rage less.
And fwiw yes, Dearborn voters have definitely been proven to be chickens for KFC. That much we see from their own posts lamenting the vote now.
Rafiki, I read fairly vociferously, I just don't read the tripe that YOU write and link. One of the main reasons why is your penchant for going off on long-winded and irrelevant tangents, like the particulars of the people killed on 10/7 (who cares?!?!?)
"Oh damn, some people in this kibbutz are liberal Zionists; welp, I guess we can't attack, we'll have to make our people settle for a few more decades of uninterrupted oppression!" -Hamas

Nailed it. I know my repellant, reactionary, war-hawk freaks!

Vivian Silver was born in Canada and made the decision to move halfway across the world to live on stolen land next to the caged former occupants. she made the decision to live in a country that routinely bombs and massacres them. thats like the opposite of peacenik.

Rafiki is the war hawk when you advocate for Hamas to massacre innocent civilians? Interesting times we live in. How’d that attack turn out for them, did they overturn the uninterrupted oppression or did they ruin any chance at peace?

What was accomplished for Gaza:
1) Lost all their jobs in Israel, and any chance at getting any, any time soon. Who would hire you when you're just scouting your next hit?
2) Managed to get a "million" of your own killed (if we're going by #Victordata)
3) All your leadership executed inside 2 years.
4) Got Nasrallah killed, and Hezbollah smoked, Syria falls shortly after.
5) Got Gaza turned into rubble by fighting inside all the civilian infrastructure, or rigging the rest to be demo'd.
6) So that Trump could come along and agree there can be no more Hamas control of Gaza (but maybe no Palestinian control either).
7) Got Iran smoked, and then exposed. Turkey and Israel confirmed as the regional powers.
8) Got the average Gazan living in a tent, a portable, or emigrating somewhere else.
9) Probably made sure they'd never get a state.
10) Turned even the Israeli far left against them, which is saying something.
and bonus:
11) Did get global antisemitism to tragically high levels, which is probably the #1 "accomplishment" if we're keeping score
So I dunno, was it worth it? Seems like a historic face plant to very tragic ends for all sides (but one side exponentially worse)
I have grave concern for the likes of Trump, Putin, Sinwar, Khamenei, and anyone else who seeks to destabilize the world with chaos. You can add Bibi in there too, not a fan.
I think war is abhorrent. But I think self defence is always just. Israel acted as almost any nation would have after that brutal attack on their soil. There is obviously no choice. Hamas and their like cannot exist at anyone's doorstep. It's fairly obvious why that is (well to most in here anyway).
3) All your leadership executed inside 2 years.
4) Got Nasrallah killed, and Hezbollah smoked, Syria falls shortly after.
Im sure when these guys join Hamas or Hezbollah they expect to live forever
Hamas and their like cannot exist at anyone's doorstep.
then you should leave. bc Hamas obv isnt going anywhere.
and seriously, its the height of narcissism to act like you can move there from far away and feel that you have the right to tell the natives they need to all die if they wont accept being oppressed.
but we all know this is in bad faith anyway. all it takes is a quick read of Israeli twitter to understand that the whole point of this was to kill as many civilians as possible.

This is just embarrassing.
Most of these dead children lived on a kibbutz. These folks quite often volunteered to take Gazans to Israeli hospitals and also helped them in many other ways. They had nothing to do with Israeli policy.
Get your facts straight before posting.
The Gazans have lived through 80 years of hell. Talk about reaping what you sow.
Lol it’s very clear this person has an aversion to facts, and probably any news medium which isn’t in short form and constructed to tell its viewers exactly what to think and say.
This person as in Karl. Feel the need to specify since I know the Hamas crowd gets easily confused, especially when they’re in schizo mode.
It's not like my personal connection is that close, but I know a close friend of Vivian Silvers, that friend being the mother of one of my closest friends who also lived in a "peacenik" kibbutz and I don't think the characterizations of her as not being a peacenik are fair.
