Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD

2+2 Rules

Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...

These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.

To reiterate some of the points:

1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.

2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.

3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.

4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.

5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.

If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
what right did she have to move from ****ing Canada to a kibbutz in the 1970s when they were even more militarized and more important as forward operating bases? thats a violent act in and of itself. I mean, at least nowadays most of the owners of the land and houses in the area are dead. but she directly benefited and took advantage from war.

Everyone on Earth has the right to move to anything anywhere that can be remotely described as a "country" and any other notion is ****ed up and fascist.

...I read fairly vociferously...

I don't think that last word means what you think it means.

right, except Palestinians. and in fact, if they dont give up their houses to the "peacenik Jews" then they are fascist.

You have to meet a racial and religious qualification to immigrate to Israel. (You need one Jewish grandparent, and neither that grandparent, nor the intervening parent, nor you yourself must ever have practised any religion other than Judaism.) Don't know if you'd call that 'fascist', though some might, and perhaps not altogether without reason.

Makes perfect sense unless you’re confused on your own stance, which is a big possibility.

You're mighty arrogant for a crude Islamophobe.

Not that that is absolutely true, I don't know that other people are barred, but yeah, Of course.

The whole identification of racial, ethnic or religious groups with nations and countries is what I'm saying is fascist.

what should be done about this fascist country

any solutions?

Try your best to be a good person and survive in a world that is full of them.

Maybe not arm them to the teeth.

That's beautiful.

And remember... 😀

I think war is abhorrent. But I think self defence is always just.

Sudden change of position from you. Hamas now justified.

This post is a breath of fresh air. Thank you.

except the Palestinians being kicked out of Jerusalem and the West Bank at this very moment. and the Lebanese and Syrians kicked out of their homes in the last few months.

you guys dont think they deserve to live where they want to even if they owned the land for centuries.

Well pick a side of the argument Victor. You don't get both.

My comment to Micro was saying his push back was a breath of fresh air.

And in a world where the Arab countries didn't attack in the 40's Victor, it's very likely those Palestinians could live anywhere today. Sadly, that's not the path the Arab nations chose back then. And we've been paying the price ever since. Accepting that one country in the middle East could be self determined by Jews, was always a choice. All the other countries got to be Muslim after all (give or take).

anyway, Israel just decided not to release their prisoners and innocent hostages. I am sure the usual people will be in here to tell me why its a good thing when Israel always breaks its promises and then somehow blame Hamas.

and I dont think anyone in this thread actually believes these people should be able to live where they want.

lol. unlike you I have read Israel's history and read about their thought leaders like Herzl. the plan was always to expel the Arabs. but nice victim blaming like usual.

In other news Hamas brought 2 current hostages to watch the last hostage release humiliation spectacle, I guess to just **** with them. And then broadcast this to the world. Like I said, at this point it really seems like their goal is to be so insanely cruel that Israel will respond and the war will restart.

They also quietly released a non Jewish hostage with no spectacle at all. Western progressives will believe what they want to believe; but in Hamas own words and actions it is clear they view this as a religious Holy War against the Jewish people, and cruelty and pain specifically inflicted on Jews is the means and the end.

At this point there really is zero hope for anything resembling a real peace as long as Hamas is around; nor should there be.

It is known that Hamas leaders abroad have recently had high level meetings with Russia and the IRGC. At this point, it seems like the result of those talks were a decision that Hamas would do everything to restart hostilities, potentially to distract the world and give Russia more space to operate in Ukraine.

I guess consider me Nostradamus. Israel has announced the hostage releases will not continue unless Hamas ends the humiliation rituals. I mean Victor is going to argue Israel was always going to do something like this; but between providing the wrong body and all the humiliation rituals, Hamas sure gave plenty of reasonable rationale for doing so.

lots of words to say that Israel broke the ceasefire. not that they ever followed it. but White Supremacism deems that this is fine and its actually the victims fault.

What was accomplished for Gaza:

1) Lost all their jobs in Israel, and any chance at getting any, any time soon. Who would hire you when you're just scouting your next hit?
2) Managed to get a "million" of your own killed (if we're going by #Victordata)
3) All your leadership executed inside 2 years.
4) Got Nasrallah killed, and Hezbollah smoked, Syria falls shortly after.
5) Got Gaza turned into rubble by fighting inside all the civilian infrastructure, or rigging the rest to be demo'd.
6) So that T

Hamas accomplished more for the hardline rightwing of Israel than any of them could have possibly accomplished on their own.

by rafiki k
Rafiki is the war hawk when you advocate for Hamas to massacre innocent civilians? Interesting times we live in. How’d that attack turn out for them, did they overturn the uninterrupted oppression or did they ruin any chance at peace?
They were able to create many many new martyrs. They seem to cherish that.

Lets assume Hamas is justified. How is that working out? What would you do differently? Certainly a non insane person would do something differently after 80 years of FAFO. I don't want to hear the "we are victims of Israeli oppression blah blah blah". I want to hear some accountability. I want to hear an attitude shift.

What do you say about the ceasefire that was broken on Oct 7th?
