iirc whom is left over from when our language used to be more into cases. same as I and me.
I and me mean the exact same thing, just dependd on which case. nominative case means when it's the subject of a sentence. accusative(?) case it's the direct object.
Russian language has 5 cases, and just about every nound and adjective changes depending on which case. it seems daunting at first, but it's not as hard as it seems.
also, I think that's why some people say don't end a sentence in a preposition... it's left over from when we used to have a prepositional case, so the modified noun would come after the preposition... but since we no longer have a prepositional case it's fine to end sentences in prepositions.
I might have recommended this book before but there there by tommy orange is amazing. a very special book! and his follow up novel wandering stars is probably just as good or maybe better.
I'm not sure, but I think he's maybe cheyenne and arahapo? idk. but he's from Oakland, and writes about modern day Oakland from that perspective.
he's one of those writers, that you can read the first page and tell it's something special
